羊肉本身有保暖而在中醫角度更有補中益氣之用
吃著的羊肉雖則淋滑,但個人覺得喜愛吃羊者會較為偏愛羶一點點
而他們可能加上黑胡椒後,反而有點蓋過羊肉羶、愛與不愛,真是很個人化

This establishment is not a high end fine restaurant and as such the staff were very loud and casual, like most local restaurants in Hong Kong. We were seated comfortably in a booth next to the television screen and given time to peruse the menu. The waiter came by and recommended some of their signature dishes and to take our order. A couple minutes later, after chasing the waiter a couple of time, we were served tea and our food was slowly brought to us. We elected to have a very light, clear, and healthy soup base.

Before the food comes, the waiter will bring a tray full of different condiments. There are all sorts of ingredients to choose from in order to make your own individual hotpot sauce. I think that this is a very creative and distinguishing feature of this restaurant, I have yet to see this method employed at other hotpot chains in Hong Kong. I used a lot of spring onions, garlic, and shredded ginger in my sauce. The chilis are extra spicy. This is great because you can make your own sauce to suit your own taste, and it looks beautiful when they bring the large try to your seat.

The only downside to this dish was that it was a dessert, but it was brought to us right at the start of our meal. We were not told what it contained, and thought that it was just a dumpling. However, once we bit into it, we discovered that it was a warm gooey runny egg yolk with milk. The concept is great. It is like one of those sweet egg yolk buns, however when those get cold they do not taste good. These are similar, but you heat them up in the hot pot, so they are always warm, provided you eat them right away. They are absolutely delicious, and not too sweet. The dumpling skin is very soft and chewy too.

Fresh vegetables are a very important part of a good diet. There was great variety and it tasted great. One small hot pot tip is that you should eat the vegetables right at the beginning when your soup base has not absorbed any oil from the other dishes. This keep the vegetables fresh and you will benefit the most health wise.

The portion could have been bigger, but the fish skin was fried beautiful. Very crisp and had a great crunch sound when you bit into it.

It is always important to have really fresh seafood. These shrimp were definitely fresh and tasted delicious. When they were served, they were still wriggling and they were also very large in size. The prawns go very well with the sauce that I had made. I thought that had I put a little bit of chili into my sauce, it would have complemented this dish very well. In addition, the shrimp heads were very juicy and tasted very fresh.

We ordered two plates of this beef. As you can see from the photo, it is not extremely fatty, which I prefer. Once it was cooked, it was very tender and went well with the sauce. It was also presented beautifully on the plate and the quality was overall very high. However, like all meat, if you overcooked it in the soup, it would be quite hard and lacking in chewiness. A quick dip in the hotpot was also the beef needed to be cooked enough to enjoy a bite of juicy tender succulent meat.

This is a very difficult dish to cook well. Many restaurants can make it with beautiful colour, however if you took a paper towel and padded the rice, it would become soaked in oil. A good version of this dish is not oily and all, the rice has to be quite dry. This restaurant excelled in the preparation of this style of rice. The dish was hot and presented beautifully. The rice was cooked perfectly and had the right soft texture demanded of this dish. The colour was rich. Even the sausage was not too fat, and the amount was just right to hit the spot. It was served in a stone pot, which I have never seen before either. This is a definite must have. I would have liked a little more spring onion though, but really that is the only complaint I can lodge.

This dish was presented in a beautiful bowl that looked like a garden. The fish however was average. Once cooked it was not super smooth and full of any real flavour. However, the portion was good. I would not recommend this for the price we paid.

This is a very special ball. Traditionally, shrimp and cheese are not two ingredients that you would meld together. However, their union was most harmonious and resulted in an excellent combination ball. The shrimp is very fresh, supplemented by the warm oozing cheese inside. You have a unique experience of different textures in your mouth. This is a much try dish.

Overall, an excellent place to have really good hotpot. Although it is more expensive than other hotpot choices, the quality of the food and the comfort of the seating is well worth the additional price. This place still maintains a very traditional feel, however it has added some modern dishes and touches to give it an extra edge. When the thermostat goes down this winter, I will definitely be returning here.

Other Info. : There are four booths in the outer seating area that are really comfortable. I think there is more seating in the back, for example separate rooms, but I have never been back there. I did see lots of people heading in that direction. On the weekends, booking in advance is required, as the place is jam packed.

We have been to their Causeway bay branch before so we had pretty high expectations about their quality of food and soup. Party of 6 we were greeted by their waitresses and were politely asked if we are interested in dining in their VIP room. We declined her offer and she led us to a spacious booth. One of the first things I noticed was the ambience and its cozy environment; which was perfect for chatting and get together with friends or family.

Next is their food quality. We particularly enjoyed their hand-cut beef, shrimp cheese-ball geoduck and tomato broth. For hot pot, beef is always the star of the show and their beef is top notch, plenty of marble and tenderness. Their hand-battered balls are also quite good but their shrimp cheese ball was particularly appealing, definitely worth a try for cheese lovers. Their geoduck, dubbed the ‘elephant trunk clam’ was very fresh and incredibly sweet flavored. I believe this place offered over 30 varieties of soup bases to choose from and we ordered their tomato broth; I could literally tasted their pork, chicken and beef bone that were used to impart the flavor into the soup.

All in all, we were quite happy with the quality and variety of the food and the overall dinning experience. I would recommend it to others.

點菜的人是女生, 又有人不吃辣, 所以就來了個養顏豆漿豆腐魚頭湯底 (是類似這樣的名字啦)。
招牌一啅腐皮腃 (此名字乃參考店家之官網): 油味頗重, 而且是肥膩的炸物, 少少地吃一件算了。我灼了兩三秒拿上來已經開始腍, 真的是放下去回一點湯就要拿出來了!
本色極品手切牛 (大): 沒我吃的份, 但看牛肉的色水和油脂分佈, 還不錯啦。
羊肉片: 這個當然是我點了, 滑滑的居然幾好吃喎。
脆鯇: 幾大件, 味道沒什麼特別。
鱔片: 肥美的鱔幾時都受歡迎, 味道正常。
皇帝菜: 味道有點像茼蒿, 比較剛烈, 我其實覺得可以吃來消消其他食物的油膩。茼蒿其實都有點, 其實味道也是差不多。
炸釀油炸鬼: 乃是店家名物之一, 也是泡久了油條就會腍, 一腍就不好吃; 又要顧及到蝦肉的生熟度, 頗考功夫。我那件失敗了 (油條太腍), 此後就放棄了此味, 但後來有朋友竟要來多一 round!
雜錦野菌: 分別有金菇、雞肶菇、秀珍菇和杏鮑菇, 打邊爐必備。
韮菜餃+鮮蝦水餃: 的的式式, 餡料不少, 清新美味。
芝心蝦丸: 也是店家的特色食物之一, 爽口蝦肉丸裡面是融化了的芝士, 做成「醬爆」的效果, 也是要追加的項目。
豆卜、炸魚皮、芋絲等等也有吃, 但也難言有什麼很特別的地方。

朋友沒介紹錯, 這兒是北角區比較有水準的火鍋店, 但原來銅鑼灣登龍街那邊才是總店, 不知有否機會去那邊比較一下呢?

9:30後有6拆當然試下D牛一個字 正的佢地仲有d 芝心蝦丸同象拔丸都好好味叫左個清湯底因為好熱氣可能呢排熱無乜人但仲好坐得舒服唔嘈如果想靜靜地都可以考慮呢段時間去

一家三口打邊爐,行過呢到老婆提議不如試下。地方裝修精緻坐得又舒服,而招呼亦好到位。要咗個冬瓜田雞煱,另外點咗手切本地牛、羊片、鴕鳥肉(老婆要叫,事後後悔)、脆肉鯇魚腩、四寶丸,混合丸、木耳、菇、菜同米粉。個湯底食田雞冬瓜各有幾舊,但食唔出有乜嘢特別,同普通清湯差唔多,可能叫其他湯底重好。牛肉幾有肉味,肥瘦適中,羊肉冇乜驚喜;但鴕鳥肉非常差,睇落d顏色黑黑咁,而食落味道唔知點形容,好似冇哂味道,結果成半碟冇食到,千祈唔好叫呢樣。四寶丸各樣都有特色,鮮甜彈牙,而混合丸好似係豬肉丸溝其他肉,唔係太啱口味。而脆肉鯇估唔到咁好食,一般脆肉鯇魚味較薄,但呢到d魚腩都好有魚味,我食到最尾飽咗都忍唔住要食哂。而其他都係一般大路嘢,好難講有乜好唔好。呢處嘅setting較適合三五知己而要個精緻地方聚會,一大班人要熱鬧或者家庭聚會可能唔係咁啱。而且價錢亦算偏高,因為我今次冇食過海鮮或好特別嘅嘢都要成三百幾蚊個人。但總體仍可俾個笑臉。

上次在尖沙咀的不快經歷,使我們今天的聚餐改了在北角這家店在之前的食評看到不錯的評價~ 十分期待喲~職員端上了醬料給我們自由加及斟選擇的款色不算少,我比較愛麻醬配牛肉的食法我們點了的湯底及食物:-和風昆布珍珠蜆湯-澳洲和牛刺身-本色極品手切牛-桂花蚌-羊肉片-雙拼芝士爽蝦丸 + 秘製象拔丸-雙拼雲吞 + 水餃羊肉片像是超市買的預先包裝雪藏羊肉雲吞的蝦應該是新鮮的,但蝦跟肉的比例不恰當,變得麻麻地好吃,好"鞋"其他食品都十分出色極品手切牛入口即溶,十分稔有牛味,值回票價刺身也十分美味,也是入口即溶的 湯底可以在吃之前先飲兩三碗,十分美味也發現在窩內是有一層隔層,應該是防止食物"痴底"小插曲是中途有某品牌的啤酒財神進來派金幣朱古力,令到充滿節日氣氛

和牛刺身配洋蔥生吃,首先配點日式汁。一道刺激而微酸首先挑起味覺之敏感,再來是充滿油香之牛肉味。充滿油脂及新鮮生牛肉之完始鮮味在口腔內徘徊。最後是帶有點辛辣的洋蔥去結尾。完全是一次口味満足之經驗。老實說,很多所謂的高級日本餐廳也未必能提供此級數之和牛刺身!超級高水準之牛脊,非一般火鍋店所能尋水魚加醉雞鍋,完全無得輸之組合。若然你喜歡海鮮,再加Crab 或蜆真正海陸之配合。I am not going anywhere else!!!!
