Restaurant: La Parole

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 之前都試過社企餐廳,Fine Dining 法國菜嘅社會企業餐廳真係第一次,估唔到有意外驚喜。社會企業旨在以商業形式營運,將賺取之利潤回饙社會公益,等於係度食一餐飯就做到慈善。今次嚟到La Parole,地點非常就腳,上環A2出口行一至兩分鐘就到。上到去餐廳,燈光柔和,而且座位闊落;餐廳環境恬靜,令人放慢腳步,跟三五知己享受晚餐。老實講,西餐好著重食材新唔新鮮,而係香港,新鮮當地食材係唔容易做到,因為成本極大,所以係香港食西餐,絕對考驗廚師烹調功架。跟店員聊天期間,得知主廚曾到訪歐洲多國學廚,更任職過比利時皇室御廚團隊。La Parole 每一道菜都是她精心設計,完成當晚廚房工作後,更會出嚟跟每枱客聊天,有一種係外國食family restaurant的感覺。第一道菜前梗係食返個法式餐包啦,配有法包同粟米包。麵包最緊要係仲熱,個人好怕法包好硬,但La Parole的法包軟硬適中,配備嘅牛油預先放係室溫備用,細心位加分!因為最近要戒口,所以呢餐無試到酒,店員推介咗佢哋新出嘅水果Smoothie,左邊係香蕉菠蘿,右邊係紅莓加紅酒base 。非常推介香蕉菠蘿味,果味好足,同埋唔甜,真材實料!

之後就嚟到主菜喇,同友人都係選擇咗龍蝦。已經預先將龍蝦離殼(極細心),配埋自家調配嘅芝士汁,帶出龍蝦鮮味,好好味!之前有試過佢地其他主菜,好鍾意佢地調配嘅sauce,令每道菜昇華不少,亦睇得出廚師嘅用心。

甜品選擇咗兩款,非常一讚嘅係甜度適中!我自己真係好怕甜品太甜同太人工,呢度嘅甜品同佢Smoothie一樣,採用新鮮嘅水果整。同埋食完前兩度菜其實已經有啲飽,反而食完佢嘅水果甜品,帶少少果酸味,可以中和膩感!鍾意酸酸地可以選擇桑子蛋糕配新鮮忌廉,mousse同蛋糕base都好濕潤細滑!白蘭地新鮮桃肉奶凍面頭奶凍好creamy,下面Jelly不同層次,Jelly硬度同奶凍一樣,唔會太膠,讚!

The restaurant had 7 tables of customers out of a total of 20+ tables.The first starter (tuna tartare) arrived at 1:15pm, and no food was served for the next 30 minutes, despite multiple attempts urging staff to kindy ask the kitchen to pick up the pace. The next starter that was meant to be surfed was a soup, which realistically should only take a matter of minutes as soup is typically pre-made, We finally made a decision

The tasting menu was a 5-course meal, the appetiser was Purple Yam and Sea Urchin with Balsamic Vinegar Jelly. It was quite interesting in texture as the yam was crunchy and the jelly was chewy. The sourness of the jelly gave us an appetite!

Then it was a Spicy Avocado Chicken Tomato Soup with Nachos. I have to say it sounds quite odd to me, but wait till you taste it! If you enjoy some Mexican food, I’m sure you would love it. The spicyness gave you a good kick, with the tenderness of the chicken and creamyness of the avocado. They perfectly recreated the Mexican flavour but in the soup form and it was a pleasant surprise!

I ordered the Pan Fried Duck Breast with French Premium Foie Gras with mashed cauliflower as my main course; while my boyfriend ordered the Pan Fried Premium Black Angus Rib Eye with Seasonal Vegetables. The duck breast was smokey, and they tasted quite pleasant with the homemade gravy and raspberry purée. The Foie Gras added in some fattiness to the dish, but the sweetness of the strawberry balanced it quite well.

My boyfriend enjoyed the Black Angus Rib Eye especially with their Yuzu Chili Sauce. The tanginess cuts the fat and brought out the flavour of the steak. We highly recommended it if you are a steak lover!

We shared our dessert as we couldn’t choose which one we liked the best, so we ordered the Orange Soufflé with Vanilla ice cream and Estonian Mixed Berries Cheesecake. The Soufflé is full of orange aroma when they served it, the fluffyness of the soufflé was also the best part of it. They didn’t have the orange sorbet that night so they substitute it with vanilla ice cream, but they still go perfectly together. What could go wrong with a freshly baked soufflé and ice cream right?

On the other hand, the Estonian Mixed Berried Cheesecake was fantastic! The texture is lighter than a New York cheesecake but you can still taste the rich cheese flavour. It was not as airy as a Japanese cheesecake but a fluffy texture with the softened berries.

,做得極出色,梳乎厘焗到金黃色,熱騰騰,外脆內軟,好似食綿花,又唔過甜,雪葩可以清味蕾,一流

欣賞呢度食材新鮮及fine dinning烹調手法,每道菜都用心製作,雖然上菜有啲慢,但慢工出細貨,之前去過所謂私房菜館,亦係標榜食鮮,原汁原味慢煮烹調方式,但價錢超離地,唔似呢度咁親民,嚟食好嘢又可以間接幫助別人,一舉兩得,何樂而不為😘👍👏🙌🙏!

Their lunch sets were 4-course including an appetiser, mains, dessert and coffee/tea. Each course offered a few options to choose from with some requiring top-ups. As it was a business lunch, I picked all courses without any additional top-ups.

There was a basket of bread on our table with two types of bread for each of us. There was a round bun which had a crispy crust and soft interior. Another type was French baguette which was also crispy yet had soft interior. There was a lovely plate with butter, smashed olive and tomatoes to go with the bread (Please see top left hand corner of the photo below). The bread was nicely kept in the basket covered by a thick napkin so that they remained pretty warm even though they had been left on our table for quite a while. The quality of the bread was above average.

I normally ordered salad instead of soup but chose this because it was signature. When served, it smelt really good of truffle. It consisted of quite a lot of smashed mushroom but I personally would prefer a much smoother texture. There were some almond flakes to add texture but I think there could be much more as I managed to find maybe just 3 almond flakes. Overall it was ok but I had expected more.

Fish Waterzooi of Cod and Yellow Croaker with Mixed Seasonal Vegetables, Flemish Cheese Sauce at $238+10%

According to my lunch partner, this item seemed to be new on the menu. It was served on a big pot which was very hot. There were two types of fish - Cod and Yellow Croaker. Unfortunately, not all the bones were removed so we had to be extra careful while eating. The cod was just so-so and it was such a small piece. But the Yellow Croaker was a very generous amount and it had been pan-fried/ovened so well in advance that the skin was so crispy and tasty and the flesh was so juicy. Very good Yellow Croaker indeed. The Flemish Cheese Sauce smelt very good of white wine and it was very tasty! I couldn't help but finish all of the sauce afterwards. Mixed seasonal vegetables included two big pieces of radish, a lot of purple cabbages which were so sweet and tasty, and onion slices. Portion was so big that I felt so full after finishing it. 

My lunch partner ordered the rib eye which was so thin and didn't seem to be particularly pleasing so I would say my fish waterzooi should be much better.

Traditional Tiramisu

The Tiramisu was the type which was very moist and quite alcoholic. With the berry sauce and the strawberries, it was not heavy at all and was quite a good end to the meal.

Coffee or tea was included in the set. I just ordered hot lemon water which had 3 slices of lemon in it with nothing special.

Seating was reasonably comfortable with sufficient room among tables. Yet, as mentioned earlier on, service was slow as we had to follow up with our mains at 1:30p.m. when we were seated at around 12:40p.m. At that time, we saw that many other eaters hadn't had their mains either so it was not just us. That said, overall quality of the food was reasonable and the price was sort of justified.

La Parole @上環柏廷坊另一餐生日飯,啱啱先醒起未寫食評😂😂味道❤️❤️❤️❤️呢間餐廳大部份嘅食物質素都唔錯頭盤係鵝肝鴨胸另一個係蟹肉牛油果他他配多士,佢個多士食落口勁似好脆嘅油炸鬼,食完一塊會好想要碗粥😂龍蝦湯唔錯,都算濃郁主菜係肉眼扒配薯菜,令一份係龍蝦意大利飯,味道嚟講都OK甜品要另加,好味但係比較一般冇餐飲比較怪,香港嗰啲大部分都有份量❤️❤️❤️❤️足夠嘅,兩個人食完都夠飽服務❤️❤️❤️還可以,但係慶祝生日果方面比較弱,例如完全冇任何甜品送,寫生日快樂喺你嘅甜品度又冇加名,弱咗少少,但服務員有唱生日歌,加返少少分環境❤️❤️❤️❤️環境唔錯,靜靜地,同隔離枱都唔會好近,夜晚都係得四至五枱有人價格❤️❤️❤️ 同另一個post嘅Amigo差唔多,都係西餐,但嗰間港式少少,依家真係正式西餐,可惜冇得嗌生蠔

如果你有兩個鐘頭食lunch, 呢間野會好適合。今日我約左幾個朋友第一次係呢間野食lunch, 我原本想叫鴨腿鵝肝餐,12.45pm 話已經賣哂😢。之後轉左叫黑毛豬。點知一等就等左45mins 先有得食。我朋友原本話5成熟,點知變左一獲熟哂,7成!味道都好食,但要等45分鐘,真係要考我耐性😕。個甜品非常新鮮,係我食完個main course 先慢慢焗比我。最後等左15分鐘都未出,我決定放棄。以價錢$2xx 真係有d唔值。第一次就有bad feeling, 唔會再去食looo 🙁如果你有時間,呢間餐廳就最岩你!
