沒有誇張 這個scone質素可比上酒店

底層要推介的是beef burger 雖然小小的 卻很好吃
中層有parma ham toast 和小冷盤 內裡有蝦和沙律菜 質素一般
頂層甜品 brownie很合我口味 莓tart亦是至愛 加上一杯的mango pudding 整個tea實在心滿意足

這樣的價錢 服務和質素 還有靚景sofa位 是值的
店子雖小卻很整齊漂亮 一定再來

I have always heard a lot about the croissants from Le Salon. The best thing about working in Causeway Bay is that there is just so many lunch choices available! After paying at the counter, I was first given my croissant. Coffees are freshly brewed after orders are made. Once the coffees are ready, they would call the number on your receipt so you may collect it from the counter.

I have chosen a tiramisu cream-filled croissant and a large latte. The croissant was only slightly warmer than room temperature and no one should really call it hot. Just before it cooled entirely, I just could not resist to take a bite of it before I got my coffee.

The croissant was topped with sugar, biscuit crumbs and cocoa powder. It was buttery, with a slightly flaky, crumbly exterior. The inside of it was very moist but at the same a little stringy. The tiramisu cream only became apparent when half the croissant was swallowed down. Nevertheless the cream was not overly sweetened. It was light, airy, and tasted just like whipped mascarpone together with the espresso. Don't try looking for hint of alcohol is my advice.

The latte was pretty disappointing. For a latte, the coffee was simply way too strong and bitter to me. The milk was overly steamed that it was too hot and that silky foam was absent. Luckily the shape sour taste from coffee was not so significant.

In short, I believe the croissant was not bad but a little over-rated. If we are only talking about the pastry itself, croissants from Urban Bakery were definitely more surprising and outstanding with its ultra-crunchiness. They are also more fairly priced. Sad but true, the coffee here is just not worth mentioning.

每個牛角包同樣用黑色紙袋袋著,設計簡約精緻,不過由保暖爐放在室溫不久,牛角包的油份已滲出到紙袋的外面。畢竟要做到如此酥化的質感,牛油的份量也一定不少。頓時少女的自卑心作祟,看來今晚要多做半小時的「鄭多燕」來還債吧。

牛角色比起平常吃到的差不多大,但一拿上手,牛油香撲鼻,牛角色層層酥化,酥而不膩。咬下去已吃到沙沙聲非常脆口的質感,但弄得滿咀和枱面都是酥皮的碎屑,十分論盡。幸好我們只是堂食,如果拎走的話,一邊行一邊食,必定醜態百出了。

我倆五時多的時候才來,雖然吃到的不是新鮮出爐的貨色,但牛角包全放在保暖爐內,仍能保持餘溫。Tiramisu面頭潵上可可粉和糖霜,立即增添不少艷眼。饀料集中在牛角包的中央,咬一口,食到的是濃濃的咖啡和朱古力混合體,而不是預期中應有的mascarpone cheese般芝味或甜酒味,不過這穩當的配搭,飽滿四溢地呈忌廉狀,味道相當討好,香滑誘人。

再試了chocolate餡料的牛角包,表面潵上果仁碎和砂糖,酥香之中帶點杏仁脆香。夾心的朱古力流心同樣澎湃豐盛,顔色帶點栗子棕色。試一口,味道不如牛奶朱古力般甜漏,反而嚐到一點點海鹽的咸味,為朱古力這平凡味道增添了一點創新的風味,吃完一整個也不覺得甜滯吧!

不過餡料全都集中在牛角包中央,味道和酥皮的比例顯得不平衡。吃到中央,餡料多而酥皮少,變相有點甜過頭。若能做到饀料平均分佈在整個牛角包就更完美無遐了。

飲品方面,小妹點了Latte。因為事前員工主動地詢問堂食還是帶走,我以為說了堂食,店員便會用瓷杯裝上咖啡來。怎料結果還是換了紙膠杯盛上,與預期中有落差。呷一口,咖啡甘苦味强烈突出,不得不下一包咖啡糖去平衡一下;不過一打開杯蓋,純白色心形的拉花還依稀存在。真想不到用紙杯盛者,還能做出拉花來,不知是有心無意,還是順便了,總之小妹看見這拉花,就已暖在心頭了。

Latte的奶泡相當豐厚細密,與咖啡糖調和後,輕甜中帶點微甘,入口順滑不搶喉,水溫亦恰到好處。這一一杯裝的咖啡一個人喝下去有點吃力,但實在超值呢。

一試底層食物,竟真的讓我有點喜岀望外,素質味道各方面亦很不錯啊。因為事實上是上個月用餐的事,本人未能作岀對食物再仔細的評價,只記得牛角包還是一如既往的好,即使拍了不少照片,牛角包依然是一口咬落去的鬆脆,而且還保持著微暖的溫度呢。

吃過牛角包後其實以飽了五成了,餘下的,就是細細品嘗甜點的時間了。
每樣甜點都別具特色,令人好幸福好滿足

The taste was not as exciting as I imagined because the apple just tasted sweet, there were no sour notes to it and the cinammon was not strong enough.
Anyway, at least I have tried it.
Although I am not a fan of peanut butter but the peanut butter one tastes better.

I remember coming here with my sister and friend a few months ago, but because the service wasn't very good and the food/coffee was soso, I didn't think much of it and didn't think that I would be back. However, the only person who was working there was very friendly and polite, which made me change my mind about the place. 

Taste & Value:
Like last time, I ordered the Tea set that included 1 croissant and coffee/tea/latte/ cappuccino ($45). Unfortunately, the white truffle croissant couldn't be part of the set, but luckily I had come for the Praline & Peanut croissant, so no big deal. 
 
For my drink, I chose a latte. The latte was quite a handsome size, but was soso and a bit dull. It wasn't bad, but not my taste.  As for the croissant, it was soso as well. For the price of it, it could have been bigger I think. Then although it had a nutty creamy filling that was pretty good and not overly sweet, the bread was on the dry side. Maybe it would have been better if I had it when it first came out of the oven. After having the croissant, I kinda understood why the coffee tasted the way it did, it was so that you could better taste the croissant.

Environment & Hygiene:
The set up was kinda squishy. It was difficult for the people sitting at the inner tables to get out. I liked the idea of using bicycles as decorations, but the chairs were quite hard and not too comfy, which made the whole environment seem less nice. 

I went there at tea time, so it was very busy. There were no open tables when I first arrived, but by the time my latte was ready, a few tables had left, so I luckily had a place to sit. Maybe because there was only one staff on, he was responsible for taking the order, grabbing the food, making the drinks, and cleaning up the tables, so the tables were only cleaned when there were no customers wanting to order, which explains why most tables had trash on them. Hygiene could have been better, but at the same time kudos to the staff who had to manage it all.

Final Verdict:
Peanut butter is my weakness.
 I have had 1 sweet and 1 savory croissant from here before, and both didn't make me want to go back, but this third peanut one had made me come back, which was a mistake. I think the place down on the basement has croissants with a better texture for a more reasonable price.

The praline and peanut filling was surprisingly nice to a non peanut butter lover.
The filling was creamy and the peanut had a gentle crunch, just like the peanuts you get in peanut butter.

The man at the counter wasn't showing much enthusiasm at all though, he seemed to have lost patience in answering our questions, perhaps he have been serving too long or bored of his job haha XD (?)

However, to quite of my disappointment, not much peanut fillings were flowing out like what happened the last few times, so it didn't trigger much of my excitements in biting it.

Till finally, eating up to almost half of it, certain amount of fillings appeared to flow out. 

However, the flavour wasn't my most liking. It was just soso compared to the outstanding ones I ate in the past.

一直也很喜歡這家的牛角包,放在暖爐中,能保持牛角包的新鮮度之餘,亦能確保每一個牛角包都是暖粒粒的送到客人手中。這期推出最吸引我的是white truffle和蘋果味。White Truffle Croissant ($38)Mark: 8/10white truffle croissant 一吃下去已能聞到香濃的白松露味,中間的白松露醬厚身creamy,是帶松露鹹香的忌廉醬,而且filling比其他口味多,稠杰的醬汁跟外層鬆化的包身的對比就更特出了。Apple Croissant ($23)Mark: 7.5/10蘋果粒甜度不高,本以為會像蘋果批餡料般重肉桂味,原來沒有,是清清甜甜的,可能是想像與現實不乎吧,就算我是個甜魔都覺得白松露那個更香口好吃!期待下一期推出的新口味!

Brûlée Waffle。面層是烤過的吉士醬,賣相吸引,味道不錯且不會過甜,不過下面的窩夫略嫌有點硬,還是傾向喜歡吃腍身一點的。

除了這個秋日餐牌外,餐廳還推出新品味的牛角飽餡料:冰凍紅莓乳酪和黑櫻桃,特別是冰凍紅莓乳酪口味,一冷一熱的配搭,真的超級引,不過今晚吃得太飽了,唯有留待下次再試吧。

Been to Le Salon Croissanterie numerous times for their delicious croissants but I have never actually been to Le Salon Restaurant where they serve French food with some fusion.

Le Salon Restaurant serves French food while Le Salon Croissanterie specializes in French croissants.

Le Salon Restaurant is black and classy on the outside with a narrow entrance where the waitors greet you.
The walls of the entrance are black with white light bulbs shining through which reminds me of the cabaret.

At Le Salon Restaurant, the menu comprises of 2-course and 3-course lunch sets, afternoon tea sets, dinner sets and weekend brunches at reasonable prices.
As I have not dined at Le Salon Restaurant, I discovered that the dishes were more affordable than I thought because of the chic decor and entrance.

I tried some of the items on the new autumn culinary delights menu.

We sat in a plush private room which had a beautiful shadow of a chandelier which blended wonderfully with the wallpaper.

The Duo De Salmon was one of the new autumn dishes which was presented on a plate with delicate pieces scattered just like the way leaves have fallen in the autumn.
I started off with the salmon tartar because it had a thin layer of appealing lychee jelly on top which gave a refreshing taste with the salmon tartar.
Next I tried the sugar cured salmon which had a nutty tone complemented by the cucumber jelly.

It was nice the turbot was just simply pan fried, the fish skin was crispy while the fish was delicate and flakey paired with the crunchy lotus root slices.

The beef was soft and gelatinous which went perfectly with the silky mash beneath it and the gravy was nice and rich.
There were chunks of delicious carrot and mushroom making it hearty.

The crispy pig was delicate with a crisp skin, while the pork beneath it was so soft that it melts in your mouth.
The other piece was more substantail with a stronger and meatier mouthfeel.

Chestnut croissant:
As always, the chestnut croissant tastes good because the chestnut paste in the middle is silky smooth and not starchy.
White truffle croissant:
This was a savoury croissant with white ham and truffle.
The white truffle taste was intense brought out nicely by the creamy sauce inside.
Rum and raisin croissant:
I loved this croissant which reminded me of the rasberry yoghurt one they are currently serving now.
It was rum and raisin icecream inside the croissant an the rum taste was quite strong.

果然是house tea, 茶充滿花香, vanilla沒有想像中的甜和滯, 反而輕輕的更幫助消化, 
這個茶並沒有fruit tea那種香甜感覺, 但我反而很喜歡, 相信大部分女孩子也會喜歡!

另點的earl grey也很香濃, 欣賞這裡有加水服務, 不過加一次之後茶就開始無味了

嘆了一陣茶一份份陣容鼎盛的tea set也隨之而上

暖暖的scones配上clotted cream及士多啤梨醬, 沒有不好吃的理由吧, 唯獨個人不太喜歡提子乾

Tiramisu牛角包對我來說是主角, 即使放了一陣, 在室溫下吃也異常香脆, 入面的tiramisu醬甜度剛好, 不會有滯的感覺, 份量剛好每一口都吃到少少醬, 如果咖啡味重些會更好
果然餐廳的下午茶配以主打牛角包, 在別處絕對吃不到!

和牛漢堡據聞是新鮮手制的, 不過是日吃到的有點筋, 牛肉味也充足, 這個OK啦

三文魚cream cheese三文治, 青瓜增加口感, 這個也是standard的

第二層的蝦cocktail的sauce非常鮮甜醒胃, 配以新鮮帶子及尤魚, 要完成兩個絕對無難度!
反之蛋toast沒什麼特別, 而且麵包淋了, 這個只會令你更飽

到最上層的甜品, 一向也覺得果tart沒什麼特別, 朱古力mousse cake很香濃, 一少件份量剛剛好!
令我最驚喜的竟然是mango mousse - 異常鮮甜的芒果加了少許vanilla seed, 應該還有熱情果增加味蕾, 軟度剛好, 不會像吃醬那樣, 從來也不知道原來mousse也可以那樣香甜好吃!

這裡的食物好像比平常的下午茶多, 三層食物以外還有scones和牛角包, 幾多starch, 易飽肚但慢慢來還是會完成的, 吃得就不要浪費呀!

咸點和甜點皆好, 這樣是很多別的餐廳也做不到的, 而且不用早個多小時來排,
so far這裡會在我top 3入面
下午茶吃得多就不矜貴, 希望下次可以試試這裡的午餐或晚餐

一期一會, 又跟工作伙伴見面詳談的時間。我們都愛吃, 特意找來這間在希慎廣場上的餐廳試試。聽聞主廚是以前在The Drawing Room的Roland, 之前吃過The Drawing Room, 感覺還不錯, 所以對於Le Salon也抱有一點點期望。 如要說環境, 這裡十分不錯。位於希慎廣場的13樓, 景觀當然不會差。而且室內寬敞光猛, 裝潢亦有格調, 午餐時份, 食客不算多, 單手數得完吧女!餐前, 應該來點小餐包, 但我們卻要求了兩三次才見到其真身。這裡出名的卻是牛角包,可是Lunch Set是沒有供應這個的。麵包還是暖暖的, 有蕃茄芝士等麵包作選舉。 頭盤點了Sauteed Prawn, 大蝦只是普通貨式, 講不上彈牙, 但亦煎得不夠香口。配上菠菜做的醬汁, 味道清淡但又覺得跟大蝦不配。旁邊還有數片French Chanterelle Mushroom, 菇鮮味不算特出, 鋪上一片Bayonne Ham, 卻帶不出蝦的鮮甜味, 有點遺憾。主菜是一份意大利雲吞, 包裹在裡面的是虎蝦肉, 帶子及魚柳。但是雲吞皮甚厚, 也完全吃不出裡面的海鮮味道。感覺就像在吃粉皮一樣, 大為失望

主菜是一份意大利雲吞, 包裹在裡面的是虎蝦肉, 帶子及魚柳。但是雲吞皮甚厚, 也完全吃不出裡面的海鮮味道。感覺就像在吃粉皮一樣, 大為失望。而且食物都放涼了, 一片片粉皮放於我面前, 膩口之餘, 胃口亦大跌。

最後是服務生推介的甜品Lemon Tart with Lemon & Lime Sorbet。這個是整個午飯最值得品嚐的!! 雖然比較甜, 可是配上青檸的雪芭, 感覺清新而且調製剛剛好, 用來作為結果, 再好不過!!

另外, 還點了一杯Cappaccino, 香滑而且奶泡豐厚, 感覺還算不錯。

整個lunch set索價二百多元, 就連剛好腸胃炎初癒的友人, 詭著來吃, 吃完也感尚有肚餓感覺, 實在有點兒那個!! 或許來一份牛角包會比較實際一點吧!!
