這個薄餅採用了來自意大利的銀魚柳,為是這薄餅的亮點。吃下時,銀魚柳確是有著很濃郁的味道,鹹香很來味道適中。再配上橄欖油、酸豆、水牛芝士等酸料,吃起來更具口感豐富。

雖然是一個很普通的甜品,但也是在下喜愛的。當芒果與布甸在一起的時候,可以吃到芒果香香甜和布甸的幼滑,是簡單得來最好不過的,而且還用上了密封的樽裡面,感覺也幾特別的。

Viviy是有點私心,想先介紹呢款至愛Pizza。呢款軟心芝士薄餅其實係Pizza Express 為了慶祝其50周年,特意送了一team Pizza 專員去意大利當地尋找古法Pizza的製法而帶回香港的Vera Pizza 系列之一。如果大家知道意大利的傳統Pizza其實都只是用上2,3種材料去製,卻可以食到食材的真味,就明白同港式大堆頭Pizza的分別。明顯地呢個 Vera Pizza 批邊係較為鬆厚,但餅底依然薄脆 。就好似Pizza 起源意大利拿玻里的Pizza一樣,簡單,卻是最好味!

餅如其名,軟心芝士薄餅加上好似熔岩一樣的巴馬臣芝士,配上車厘茄及羅勒,面頭加小小辣椒油吊味,好味同滿足度真係爆燈,堅想encore多幾次。

水牛芝士番茄薄餅

今次呢5款Vera Pizza 其實係有特別的意思。每個Pizza都會寧舍有一塊係突咗一隻角仔出來!原來係Pizza Express 特意在50周年呢個時間向「薄餅之守護者」St. Antonio the Abbot致敬的舉動,因為Abbot每幅的畫像中都有隻豬仔在旁,所以每個Pizza邊的角仔,其實就係一條豬仔尾!相傳食到有豬仔尾果片Pizza既人都會特別Lucky,哈哈!

是晚叫咗 Barbera D'alba呢隻鎮店紅酒來試,一支都只係$260,相當化算。不過Viviy仍是最愛來親必點,口感偏jammy的MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO,原來呢度的酒都係經專人傾返來,唔怪得之以前飲完試過去其他wine cellar搵都搵唔到!

這款餐單上說用上藍芝士及水牛芝士,可是如圖所見,芝士數量少,分佈亦不均勻,很能牽絲但香氣較弱,只得菇菌氣味,醬少餅厚吃著感覺也比較乾身,除了餅底好吃外,性價比比上款還要低。

不過言歸正傳,凡是出售每一個四色芝士及野菌薄餅,餐廳都均會捐出港幣八元給予機構,四色芝士是環境保護及可持續發展時裝業的「Redress」,野菌則為「香港癌症基金會」,能夠滿足食慾同時又能盡一分綿力,何樂而不為呢?

由於太寒冷關係, 實在無法承受凍飲, 所以餐茶兩杯都選了花茶.

桂圓紅棗茶(前), 荔枝茉莉花茶(後) - 前者清甜潤喉, 後者則清香恬淡, 都是很適合女士們品嚐的茶品, 而且還可叫侍應添加熱水, 寒冬飲後全身也會感到暖和舒適.

Admittedly, I'm not a fan of pizza but I have had good experiences at Pizza Express, which is why I opted to go there last Monday.
The service was very friendly and attentive but could only apologize for the place being cold as a fridge rather than turning down the air-conditioning that was blowing into my ear, making me feel very unconfortable.
With it being so bitter cold, I decided to order a red wine to lift my spirits. Opting for the affordable "Montepulciano" (Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Tor del Colle, Abruzzo, Italy) seemed like the obvious choice because I usually like it at other restaurants. I boldly ordered a whole carafe but regretted that decision later. The waiter was kind enough to let me try the wine first (his idea not mine; I usually trust that wine...) and to my own big surprise the wine tasted unusually acidic and sharp and quite vinegary, as if it had been stored in the wrong place or been open for too long. I couldn't even hide my grimace and after humble apologies, the waiter returned with another bottle. I didn't want to upset him as this was after all one of their cheapest wine, but oh dear, that second bottle tasted just as foul. I decided to let it go... that it might be just "me". (Later found a piece of cork in the glass so perhaps the wine wasn't at it's best after all.)

The food took a while and I did my best to try and like the wine... I didn't mind waiting as it showed that the food is freshly made and I know they usually do make a nice thin crust dough. I had opted for the "Margherita Prima", which is the larger but thinner (Romano) style; the only pizza I like. It looked and smelled very nice and the fresh basil leaves on top added fresh colour to the aroma. The waiter brought a pepper mill (Brownie points for that!) and there was plenty of Mozzarella cheese on the pizza and the San Marzano tomato sauce looked and smelled yummy. Man, after that vinegary taste in my mouth from the wine I was so ready for this! And yes, it was fairly good (if somewhat soggy at the centre), but the delight was very short-lived... There was such a fierce cold wind (from the air-conditioning) blowing in the dining hall that the pizza went stone cold even before I had the third piece. (I am a fast eater but I wanted to "enjoy" it and not wolf it down. After all, I had a whole carafe of vinegar to go through yet...) The taste of the pizza wasn't bad at all, but when cold even the best pizza tastes bland and rather uninspiring. I didn't want to complain because it was late and the place was nearly empty and I was tired and didn't want to be mean. I could see the staff wanted to go home just as much as I did.... It was a simple case of wrong place - wrong time. I know I have only myself to blame for not complaining, because the staff was eager to please and probably would've tried to make up for it, but the anticipated "comfort combo" of red wine and pizza wasn't going to happen anyway so I left without drinking my wine and sorely disappointed.

I do want to emphasize that the staff was friendly and possibly quite unaware of my misery. This was not the staff's fault I reckon. The wine, well... maybe it was me, maybe they bought bad stock. I don't know. But all that wouldn't have mattered, had I felt more "comfortable" sitting there. I've had many a lousy meal in great atmosphere and enjoyed it. This food wasn't all that bad but I felt so uncomfortable there. The venue could be so amazing with the high ceiling and the urban loft-like shabby factory chic, if they didn't ruin it by blasting ice cold air at people long after the sun is down and when the place is empty (now I know why; nobody wanted to hang around...) Oh and, sorry guys but the music was seriously pulling at my ragged nerves - so hysterical and aggressive. It might be ok when the place is full to the brim with noisy happy folk chatting over the music but when it's just a dark empty place with two people crying into their wine, that sort of music just makes you want to walk back out again. (It certainly didn't help pacify me that evening...LOL...) Anyway, I have had good experiences at ther other outlet in Ship Street so I may give them another chance one day when I'm in a group (definitely not alone!). But I first need a few positive experiences in other restaurants again before I dare another experiment at this Pizza Express.

事前朋友已在網站訂枱,當日我們由7:00pm坐到人家10:30pm last order,完全沒有趕人(因為未滿座XD)待應服務態度超好,廁所環境相當乾淨,加上最後的甜品……整體就是十分滿足,每人平均費大約$250左右。

PizzaExpress環境大,只略嫌冷氣不夠。食物份量大但味道真的不討好,當日點了茄汁肉丸丶烤雞蘑菇pizza及白酒海鮮意粉。先來肉丸,共有8粒,上面有2塊麵包,都頗香軟,而茄汁味太酸,肉丸太硬。這個Pizza邊不夠脆,鷄肉不嫩滑,不知為何邊食邊出太多汁,毫不乾身,味道又普通。最後個意粉口感爽口,蝦及蜆肉新鮮,沒有酒味,只有檸檬酸汁味。整體食物不合格,不會再光臨了。

Anyway, the pizza was either a margarita or an american (with spicy pepperoni). I found the dough undercooked, with too much tomato sauce.

We ordered other food too, salmon carpaccio was good.

But the porciutto was not sliced thin enough. What surprised me was the chocolate cake which is one of their famous desserts. But this time it was terribly dry. Not only the sponge cake but the icing as well. And the cake should have icing as well in the middle but this one did not.

So was this a fluke for one very busy night?

薄餅以蜜糖,雞肉及Ricotta芝士焗製,味道偏甜,如果嗜甜的女生,一定會很喜歡它。再配上櫻桃番茄和煙肉等色彩繽紛的配料,令薄餅充滿歡樂的春日色彩。
如果帶女生來吃,不妨告訴她,蜜糖雞肉薄餅的意大利名字為「il Sorriso」,正是微笑的意思。所以,吃這個薄餅時,記得要微笑喔。

說起Pizza Express,其實去年相若的時間,我也曾應邀出席它的春夏新品試食會,那時我剛開始試著寫食記,算是Food blogger界中的超新手。如今過了一年,我還是新手,但這一年似乎過得很長,也很充實有意義,因食而認識了很多新朋友,得到了很多新機遇,是十分意外的收獲。為此,這一年要更加努力,才不會辜負明年的回顧。

蜜糖雞肉薄餅($138)。薄餅的意大利名是il Sorriso,意思是微笑,主廚改這個名字也想客人吃過薄餅後,都會露出笑容吧。的確這個薄餅的味道很好,女孩子可能會特別喜歡,因為加入了Ricotta Cheese和蜜糖,吃起來甜滋滋的。

最後的甜品環節,掃了幾款甜品如檸檬撻、冰點乳酪和朱古力麵包球,全部都令人吃得起勁,特別是朱古力麵包球,麵包球不單綿軟,配榛子朱古力醬味道更是一絕,讓人吃不停口。

離開前發現型男王敏德在餐廳內用餐,公關說他是常客,第一次見真人,身穿西裝的他相當有型,完全是品味的代表,如果他也會來吃飯的話,可想而知這裡是不錯的選擇。

上年三月時,在餐廳周期間我們曾在Chez Patrick Deli吃過一頓豐富又美味的晚餐,由於友人很想再度回味,所以今晚我們再次踏進星街,這個具特式而又寧靜的小地帶。不過當我們在Chez Patrick Deli的門口看過其餐牌後,因為預算實在較高,於是決定找其他餐廳食飯好了。在附近左看看右看看之下,便去了價錢較為我倆接受的,亦是我好想去好耐的,PizzaExpress。在門外向入面呼叫"唔該",不久男經理便前來,他得知我們沒有訂座,便在電腦系統中查看,然後交了一個牌子給我們,再由店員帶我們乘電梯,啊﹗原來還有一樓的位置嗎﹖上樓後,地方比地下那層更大,樓底極高,牆上掛有不少幅畫作,有如一個小畫廊。場內環境昏暗,連外面街道的燈光也是微弱在照著,所以在枱上的蠟燭,是最光的光來源。四周的食客都是小聲傾談,而且枱之間都排得好開,就算附近有小朋友在玩樂,也不會有太大影響。這裡,絕對可給你一個寧靜環境去吃飯。場內只有兩位外藉店員,我們坐了十分鐘,仍沒有人前來斟水,加上場內的冷氣甚弱,令我們越坐越熱,我忍不住走出去水吧位置,告訴那裡兩位店員,我們的需要。回坐後我們便細閱餐牌,我發現是"冬天"版本。

回坐後我們便細閱餐牌,我發現是"冬天"版本。我估計店方會因應季節而對餐食款式作出改變,以"不時不食"的方針才可吃到最好的食物。

當中有兩個小食我都"餓"了多年,首先有焗麵包球$53,九個小圓球,有如軟身法包的味道,而包的底面更有著微微的芝士鹹香,淨食麵包都好好味了﹗

配有蒜蓉牛油﹑乾蕃茄醬及genovese香草汁,個人最喜歡乾蕃茄醬(我一直以為吃的是咖哩醬,直到回家看餐牌相片先知道是乾蕃茄醬!XD),味道是甜而香口,好美味。

另一款就是焗蘑菇$74,用了小型的燒烤蘑菇,三粒釀有馬蘇里拉芝士,三粒釀有香莘醬及羊奶芝士醬,前者的芝士味道香濃,不愛吃芝士的我還接受得到,但後者的味道是有十級的羊騷味之餘,那醬味十分奇怪,我實在接受不了。

每餐都要有菜,選擇了廚師推介的森林沙律$118,配料有馬蘇里拉芝士﹑蒜蓉蘑菇片﹑牛油果﹑烤蕃茄乾﹑火箭菜﹑生菜及菠菜。蔬菜非常新鮮,爽脆清甜,馬蘇里拉芝士質感軟滑,充滿奶味,不錯的哦。伴以蜜糖芥末沙律醬及黑醋醬,兩款醬汁都以酸為主,開胃又醒胃,我當然是非常喜愛啦。(酸!)

主菜是意式野菌蝴蝶粉$112,本來我們是點意式肉丸蝴蝶粉,不知道是我們說錯還是出錯了,不過既然弄出來了,還是不好退回,不想浪費食物,而且多吃菜對身體有益嘛。

蝴蝶粉攤了一段時間,除了溫度沒有降底之外,口感仍是彈牙,不會糊腍。醬汁既不油不膩,因只用了蘑菇汁及松露菌油去混合,令全碟食物粉充滿陣陣菌香,相當吸引,加上大量意大利野菌,帶著爽脆的質感,和蝴蝶粉是非常配合呢。

兩位店員對"加茶"的動作毫不主動,每次我都要叫,但不是一叫就來,因為轉頭她們就忘記掉,我再三通知,唉...加上她們時常不在崗位,找她們實在有一定的困難。

直到在食飯期間,我想找人跟單之際,剛好有男經理前來介紹其餐廳的會藉,他的服務和態度比兩位店員真的好好多,十分主動,相當欣勤。我們看到場內只有他一人在店內忙不過來,不禁替他辛苦。

在此介紹不可錯過的著數,2月1日至28日期間加入PizzaExpress會員,即場登記可以即時得到免費一杯無酒精飲品或免費一球XTC Gelato$40。男經理更主動幫我們在同一張單裡一人用一個優惠(因我們各自申請了一個會藉)。
