To start our meal with a lively and refreshing marinated pumpkin with plum sauce, the pumpkin had a natural sweetness that went well with the citrusy plum sauce which helped increase my appetite.
Marinated Pigeon with Huadiao Wine $180
This dish also known as ‘drunken pigeon’, and it is a Shanghainese cold dish. The strong and distinctive Huadio Wine infused the pigeon with a deep and complex flavour, leaving a trace of herbal and strong wine aftertaste. The pigeon was also very tender and soft, unlike many that you would find elsewhere.
Marinated Sea Cucumber with Sichuan Peppercorn and Chilli Oil $180
This is the sliced sea cucumber served with Sichuan peppercorns and chilli oil. The sea cucumber itself was crunchy and had a kind of firmness to it. The immense flavour of Sichuan peppercorns and chilli oil that leaves your tongue numb and tingling.
Wok-Fried Garoupa Fillets with Black Truffle and Wild Mushroom $480
The garoupa fillets were soft, flaky and meaty. The sauce was delicious with the earthy aroma of black truffle and mushrooms, therefore making this dish even more enticing.
Stewed Pork Trotter with Dried Plum $220
The biggest surprise of the meal was this stewed pork trotter. I'm normally not a big fan of them but the flavours were so complex and enticing. The pork trotter has a nicely ratio of fat and meat, the sauce was appetising and fragrant with the use of dried plum.
Wok-Fried Spanish Pork with Red & Green Pepper $280
The wok-fried Spanish Pork was fabulous with the red and green peppers, each element on the plate was perfectly cooked and with a nice bite.
Braised Rice with Diced Duck and Octopus $230
The rice was braised with duck sauce, add the diced duck and octopus to add the aromatic and making each mouthful such a pleasure.
