首次去midtown試新餐廳,今次選擇左The Chop House. 由於星期日12正未有人等位,一到已可入座。點了Patty Melt burger, calamari, carbornara 同埋cesar sald。Calamari 味道ok, 但份量唔多。Cesar Salad 一般般,雞肉有點鞋,下次可免。主角carbornra + burger 幾好。burger 下次會叫5成熟,今次7成有d乾。整體不錯,只是有點貴。下次要試beer tap先!

下午剛做完運動,不想吃得太瘋狂,來個沙律便好。羅馬生菜、芝士、雞蛋、煙肉碎和麵包粒,配上我十分喜愛的雞胸,清新健康。值得一提的是它的麵包粒是塗上好多牛油焗製而成的,吃下非常鬆化且有牛油香,個人不太欣賞,不過男友喜歡極了。

BBQ Bacon and Cheese Burger $170
其實因為之前看到一篇食評說這裡的漢堡水準不俗,才萌生起造訪的念頭,一場來到更要一試它的龍與鳳。漢堡端來的時候並沒有讓我們嘩然,份量屬正常;話雖如此,眼見那半融的芝士緩緩流出,還是急不及待要將其往嘴裡送。首先加分的是牛肉是手打的那種,要求的五成熟也能做到,而牛味甚為濃郁;夾在內的煙肉帶點焦香,喜歡它不會整件肥肉油膩膩的,加上調味得宜的燒烤醬汁,令人有多吃一個的衝動。伴上的脆薯餅球就不太討我歡心,薯味不濃且吃到滿口是油,吃了一粒後全推給男友處理。

看見Drink list上的Mojito繪圖畫得異常精緻,吸引了男友點上一杯;飲品內插上一支新鮮竹蔗和薄河葉,另因加了新鮮藍莓的關係,成品紫紫紅紅的,好不漂亮。喝一口後發現其青檸和薄河味平衡,酒味不濃,帶點雜莓的果香,是很久沒喝到的好雞尾酒,有驚喜。

不知道這兒的雞尾酒是如此有水準,事前怕中伏的我還是點回紅酒,起碼是從瓶內倒出,中招率低一點。它嗅起來好有葡萄香,入口順喉,不錯。

今天假日與朋友相約在銅鑼灣共進晚餐,在朋友介紹下我們來到位於羅素街的一座商業大廈金朝陽中心,此店於金朝陽中心2期3字樓。門口的招牌相當搶眼,令人未進內已經大概知道該餐廳的主題是什麼了。餐廳的窗口位置安裝了很有特色的啤酒機,而且店內燈光略暗很適合朋友聚會暢飲傾訴。在另一邊牆上有很多酒桶開關充滿特色,餐廳主打是美式菜當然不乏漢堡包,我選了公司漢堡包。THE CHOP HOUSE PORK BURGER $170包底曾烤過外脆內軟,餡料有煙內、酸瓜、生菜、蕃茄、洋䓤及主打牛肉漢堡扒;煙肉處理後相當香脆而且充滿醎香味,而牛肉漢堡扒更是出色,厚厚的扒身入口非常Juicy而且還有一些香草芳香,應該加了香草醃過;伴菜還有薯波,炸得相當香脆及香口。Australian grass fed beef tenderloin $2985成熟的牛扒烹調得非常出色,扒面散發出一陣陣焦香而且肉質非常嫩滑多汁,配上特調醬汁(應該是紅酒汁)恰到好處,配菜是粟米薯蓉及波菜前者處理不錯但波菜煮得彼為過熟。整體而言食物質素高,唯獨價錢略高但在銅鑼灣黃金地段而言屬中價,一試無訪呢~

5成熟的牛扒烹調得非常出色,扒面散發出一陣陣焦香而且肉質非常嫩滑多汁,配上特調醬汁(應該是紅酒汁)恰到好處,配菜是粟米薯蓉及波菜前者處理不錯但波菜煮得彼為過熟。

整體而言食物質素高,唯獨價錢略高但在銅鑼灣黃金地段而言屬中價,一試無訪呢~

整體來說單已漢堡包價錢要$170 在加一後差不多$190 是貴了一點 (很多五星酒店要二百多), 但其令人滿意的食物水平及食店的地段和環境, 漢堡包迷還是值得一試。

We were a party of 4 and we got a table without any problem. It was a Sat and the place was not full. The Chop House has different seating arrangements to choose from and we decided we would like to be indoors with the high table/ high chairs for our starters and mains. We then moved to the terrace area for post dinner drinks and desserts. Nice high ceilings and spread out tables, nicely touched with appropriate decor and accents. Nice high ceilings and spread out tables, nicely touched with appropriate decor and accents. Music was fun and with variety as well. We enjoyed that very much.

We ordered 2 rounds of drinks before starting dinner. Cocktails were creative and yummy. The Chop House has a daily happy hour till 8pm for draft beer so some of us enjoyed a few pints.

We had bangers and mash, a chicken and avocado burger, a sirloin steak and some sides - creamy spinach, steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries. We liked the bangers and mash and creamy spinach. The rest... was not worth mentioning.

Service was there, but not there; lip servicing to the max with 80% delivery. Ambiance of the resto was fab but we felt the food and service could not match with it.  

We all had fun at this gastro bar and would recommend the place for a hang out joint but not, for sure, recommending the dinning part. Hope they can impove this otherwise, not sure I will be coming back to try out the rest that's on the menu.

主菜烤雞漢堡份量十足,有2大片雞肉的大漢堡、脆薯粒和茄醬。脆薯粒香脆不油膩,十分美味,身為"薯怪"的我真心想吃多幾粒。身旁的女同事亦讚不絶口,同枱的男同事只好展現紳士風度,讓自己的薯粒給女同事們。

漢堡內的烤雞口感嫩滑,肉質juicy,廚神的燒烤手法的確利害!雞肉本身沒太多調味,配搭甜甜的beetroot jam味道很夾。小小建議:jam的份量略為增加更好,要擦滿2大片烤雞肉實在有點難度。

烤雞肉下面還有羅馬生菜和4片烤瓜,值得一提的是整個漢堡包,無論麵包、雞肉、蔬菜,全部都用心烤過,令人深深感受到廚師的用心!終於明白落單時Waitress的溫馨提示,因3份漢堡製作需時,請稍候20分鐘,如此用心製作的料理,耐心等待還是很值得的。

很高興誤打誤撞發現這間餐廳,無論食物素質、環境氣氛、服務態度都比同類型的餐廳出色,是少有想要推介其他同事的Lunch好去處。見2位同事一臉滿足,已相約下次再試試進階的牛扒的Set Lunch,看看是否同樣出色!

突然想去茶館喝茶,不過由於中秋翌日的緣故,很多都關門,唯一於銅鑼灣營業的一間卻已經滿座,唯有放棄。在金朝陽附近搜尋可以歎下午茶的地方,看見The Chop House漢堡包的照片,覺得很心動,便決定一試。該店位於三樓,跟27樓的Wooloomooloo Prime屬於同一集團。今年開業的香港銅鑼灣店,跟新加坡店的裝潢如出一轍,不過這兒樓底更高而且空間深長,有一整面的落地玻璃窗,採光良好,感覺更開揚。店內入門處有一整排的卡座位,啡色的皮梳化又長又舒服,牆上豬牛雞的解剖圖、伸出來的螢光燈,配合菜刀為icon,給人一種屠房的感覺。靠窗位置的設計有點像cooking studio,長長的木檯,底下墊了鐵架和鐵轆,有種粗獷的工業氣息。最特別的是這兒設有自助啤酒機,只要向店方買一張Self TAP beer card,就可以用happy hour價錢享用源源不絕的啤酒,還可以免收10%服務費。我們先點一杯凍朱古力,不過賣相和味道都相當令人失望,感覺就像朱古力味的水,因為實在太難接受,於是向店員查問能否更換,最後換了一杯Berry Mojito,預設版是含酒精的,不過店方特調了一杯無酒精成份的,只放

今年開業的香港銅鑼灣店,跟新加坡店的裝潢如出一轍,不過這兒樓底更高而且空間深長,有一整面的落地玻璃窗,採光良好,感覺更開揚。店內入門處有一整排的卡座位,啡色的皮梳化又長又舒服,牆上豬牛雞的解剖圖、伸出來的螢光燈,配合菜刀為icon,給人一種屠房的感覺。靠窗位置的設計有點像cooking studio,長長的木檯,底下墊了鐵架和鐵轆,有種粗獷的工業氣息。最特別的是這兒設有自助啤酒機,只要向店方買一張Self TAP beer card,就可以用happy hour價錢享用源源不絕的啤酒,還可以免收10%服務費。

我們先點一杯凍朱古力,不過賣相和味道都相當令人失望,感覺就像朱古力味的水,因為實在太難接受,於是向店員查問能否更換,最後換了一杯Berry Mojito,預設版是含酒精的,不過店方特調了一杯無酒精成份的,只放了黑莓、藍莓、紅莓、青檸、薄荷和竹蔗棒。整杯飲品呈現士多啤梨的紅色,呷一口,青檸、薄荷和黑莓的味道最突出,因為配了有氣梳打,所以份外解渴。

The Chop House Pork Burger非常有份量,連同脆薯波以厚厚的木板盛載,足夠兩個人share。漢堡包採用的不是不是一般白麵包,包身顏色微黃,因為香煎過,所以非常香脆。餡料從上而下有醃青瓜、煙肉、豬肉漢堡扒、鮮蕃茄、生菜和沙律醬。向來不喜歡醃青瓜,不過這兒的卻意外好味,口感很腍但不會麻木地酸。煙肉乾脆爽口,豬肉漢堡扒成寸厚,非常吸睛,內裡混有一點點綠色的,外表看來跟山竹牛肉很像,咬下去卻很有香草味。店方知道我們是share,所以特別幫忙切開再用竹籤固定,吃起來自然方便得多。

漢堡包可配三款醬汁,包括紅菜頭、黃芥末和洋蔥醬,形態和味道各不相同。紅菜頭切粒,味道甜甜酸酸的;黃芥末夾雜了點點紅綠,又辣又酸,有點泰式酸辣醬的感覺,個人最喜歡;洋蔥醬呈條狀,又甜又鹹,似乎不太搭。脆薯波以鐵架盛載,再放上吸油紙,除了賣相討好,口感亦外脆內軟,沒半點油膩感。

在這偌大的空間裡,連戶外區也只有幾檯客人,除了侍者和我們,其餘的都是外國人,令這段下午茶的時光,出奇的寧靜舒服。之前有些趣聞曾經爭論過pizza到底應該用手抓起來吃還是用刀叉吃,我支持前者,我想吃漢堡包大概也一樣,將它捧在手心大口大口的吃,一定比用刀叉更讓人感到快樂和滿足。

Average salad with vinegar dressing and mixed greens, the squid was well-seasoned and deep fried, even though I would very much hoped that the outer crust will be crispier, the overall quality was moderate.
看到這道菜時,我突然想起在意大利Positano海岸吃的雜錦炸海鮮拼盤。炸物和蔬菜我不建議擺在同一個碟子裡,因為蔬菜的水汽會使得本身酥脆的表皮變軟,炸物變涼。所以這道菜還是沒有給我 太大的驚喜。但蔬菜沙拉是很新鮮的,咬下去那種水水,清脆的感覺完全表現了它的鮮度。

Relatively bland taste soup, guess I would fancy more of a pea bean paste kind of taste when it comes to veggie soup, more creamy as well. Have higher expectations for my fav food like pumpkin, need to do the veggie justice.
最近越來越覺得韓國燒烤店的南瓜湯比較出色。用南瓜做湯最重要是選料,南瓜好的話不需要如何特別的烹調。日本的小南瓜一直都是很貴很出眾的,粉嫩甜糯,可惜這裡的南瓜湯明顯不及。

Rigatoni texture was al dente (cooked just right), the only one thing that I would complain about this dish is that it lacks a bit of parmesan cheese (which was mentioned on the menu) and too much olive oil. The pork bits, eggplant, cherry tomatoes were fresh and well-seasoned to meet the expectations of a restaurant week lunch menu main dish.
口感剛好的Rigatoni, 是意大利地道的標準。香港人應該會希望再軟化一D。過多的橄欖油和過少的Parmesan芝士令人感覺到這間確實只是一間“非意大利餐廳”但若以這個角度出發,作為香港餐廳週主題午餐單的主食,它也算是不過不失。

Juicy meat patty with bacon crisp is always the best combination for a burger and this is one of the best dishes offered by the Chop House. They serve the burgers with their homemade sauce like chili mustard and sweet onions – liked them more than the regular bbq sauce on the burger and it added extra flavors to the juicy meat patty. The juice kept drizzled onto the plate as you take bites into it.

這裡額外提供了三種特製醬:Beetroot chutney(紅菜頭辣醬), Chili mustard(辣味黃芥末), caramelized onion(洋蔥醬)給這個牛肉煙肉漢堡。漢堡可以再厚D,肉汁再豐富D,煙肉煎得相當香口,加辣味黃芥末獲得我們四個一致認可,絲絲的辣意滲進舌尖,加上牛肉汁,脆煙肉…呵呵呵,星期三的午餐,我們似乎太懂得慰勞自己了。我們的漢堡專家Lorling一語中的,中環花旗銀行大廈的SimplyLife出的漢堡最好味,但水準時時變化,無辦法維持。

“Chutney”: 就是把某種蔬果磨碎或切粒加香料做成酸辣醬。源自印度,本來是在南亞流行的,但是西方餐飲一直都很喜愛創作各式各樣的chutney。個人覺得Apply chutney真的很美味!

Super surprised when the golden fried tater tots were served with the sandwich and burgers! I think I cried a bit (almost!) when I finally had tater tots after they disappeared from Hong Kong since Hardees were all closed down when I was a kid. I WILL BE BACK! Just for the crispness and mouthful of potatoes/hash brown bits as you pop them one by one, the grated potatoes seem to be happily dancing on your mouth palette.
這個味道是驚艷的!其實它就是簡單的炸薯仔粒,沒什麼花巧的地方,但用料,油溫,時間的配合缺一不可。一口一個,咬下薄薄的脆皮後,裡面薯仔在舌上均勻地散開,配上酸甜的茄醬,那種享受很難形容,因為口感很飽滿,很富足。原來好味是很簡單的。

OOO-EEE sauce had its unique sharp taste to it – strong vinegar flavor to the bbq-based sauce. The pull pork was ok but then crispy baguette was not crispy at all. Would just go for another type of sandwich next time.

“Dry” is all I have to say for this dessert. Brownies are supposed to be moist. There were only walnut tiny pieces in there, I gave up after one spoon.

記得Oli曾說過,這裡的豬扒很棒,自然不能錯過。其實,雖然地方黑,但真是單看賣相已知掂檔。肉質鬆化嫩滑,不失應有口感,而且油脂香慢慢的滲出,近骨的位置尤其吸引,超級好吃。旁邊的酸椰菜,正好減低肥膩的感覺,多吃無妨。

吃至此,即使已飽到上心口,但沒有甜品又怎可能呢? 商議一會,還是來一客Chop House Baileys Cheesecake,用上了店家的名字,都知唔會差得去邊。這出品,Baileys味道沒有很霸道,不會蓋過芝士的香氣,雖然是漏了一點,不過吃著這客濃郁的芝士蛋糕,令我們兩隻甜魔,滿足到頂點。

不知不覺,又到夜深,真不捨離開。

下次,我們吃什麼好呢?
