TLDR: Delicious pizza (eat the crust with olive oil and vinegar on the table!), Heavenly dessert - possibly the best Tiramsu I've ever tried, Pasta is a bit too undercooked and the sauce too bland for my liking. Dim, stylish Italian interior. Polite and helpful staff. Two of my friends and I booked a table for dinner with a 30% off discount using the app. We did not receive the complimentary breadsticks and had to pay for bottled water, service charge still applied. Nice dim lighting with classic
Two of my friends and I booked a table for dinner with a 30% off discount using the app. We did not receive the complimentary breadsticks and had to pay for bottled water, service charge still applied. Nice dim lighting with classic but elevated Italian style decor. Great ambience, felt a little out of place since we were broke students but nonetheless staff were still polite and helpful when asked. The owner (or manager I suppose) is very friendly and makes the effort to check up on guests here and there.
We ordered:
*My friends were about to order Lasagna but it was unavailable that night.
- 2 Spaghetti Carbonaras
- 1 Spaghetti Arrabiata
- 1 Devil Pizza
- 1 Tiramisu
Pizza was wonderful, spicy enough to be spicy but not particularly flaming as the name 'Devil' suggests (bearing in mind the spice tolerance is from a Thai and Sri Lankan perspective). The olive oil and vinegar offered on the table makes for great dipping with the pizza crust, the vinegar is particularly fruity and viscous, the olive oil was fragrant and not at all grimy. The size is manageable for one person (maybe just slightly too big to finish) but we shared it between 3 people anyways.
The pasta on the other hand had a bit too much bite. It would have been more delicious if it was just a bit more tender. The Arrabbiata Sauce was a bit bland and not at all spicy. It was alright but for the price it would be preferable if it had some more flavour.
The dessert menu is a selection of Tiramisu in 5-6 different flavours. We went with the original (as it is the cheapest but also to stick to the classics). It was creamy, tender, thick without being too viscous and not too overbearingly sweet. The coffee flavour was just right and not at all pungent. Departing from the traditional Tiramisu recipe, there were no soaked ladyfinger biscuits at the bottom which I actually prefer (I don't like the sogginess). One of the best Tiramisu's I've ever had
