They did not allow me to take photos of their artistic breads in their shop, but I still managed to take some for the chestnut and chocolate mini black buns(35HKD a big bag). I noticed how breads in Taiwan surpass HongKong's by miles when I was on merely a few days trip in Tai Pei. They are not only delicious but artistic. I was reluctant to eat them; I wanted bring it back my home as a decoration!
Taiwanese coffee and tea art seem to be more artistic than Hong Kong's too.
Top Pot Bakery has 20-30 styles of breads, every bread is amazing. Big and cushion-like, it's like a bakery museum in display of the best breads in the world.
My favourites are truffle bread and choco and chestnut bread. Innovative ones are those such as Chinese-style wolfberries and nutty bread.
The breads are 30-40HKD/3-4euros a big bun/a big pack.
Choco and Chestnut bread(35HKD) has its half-melting chocolate beans perfectly blended into the generous stuffing of dry yet generous chestnut paste stuffing. It feels like an airy cushion patted with white baby powder, making the surface dry and clean! What I like about this bakery?
They allow you to try almost every bread in big chunks before deciding which to purchase. Yes, it's a free bakery buffet!
Nuff said, the breads have outshone HK bakery industry, injecting the freshest blood into the veins of HK light-and-casual gourmet, providing us with a new option of top quality.
Dislike
I wish they will open a bakery-cafe nearby. Artesan breads should be served with fruit teas in a English-style cafe with flowery decoration on the wall. It's like a combination of 咖啡弄@TST and Shortbread Teas in Central. However, their bakery now serves only a means to quench our food craving in hustle and bustle.
