In a nutshell, residents are blessed by having this cafe in their neighborhood, serving cheap and decent Portuguese influenced Macanese Cha Can Tan(budget restaurants in HK/Macau/Guangdong) gourmet---- Pork Crispy bun, stir-fried minced pork with potatoes and veggies are so nice. I did not try instant noodles, spaghetti and lou mien(noodles stirred with sauce), but I can see they are better than average.

The chefs here cook with heart; that's why the foods that are deemed not special at all at other cafés can become so delicious in Hei Lin. 


GREAT: The pork with zhu-zai bun is hotly crispy because they baked it. Together with the well-seasoned salty pork piece, it's amazing. The pork is a little bit dry, not oily, while the tenderness is just right.

GREAT: The minced beef with deep-fried potatoes and veggies are well-stirred together. The sun side up has its egg yolk raw, and it mixes perfectly with the ingredients. However, the potatoes are a bit bitter due to overly deep-fried, and its flavor almost covered that of the tender minced beef. 

GOOD:  Milk tea(15MOP for cold) The foods go well with what they call 'red tea with milk', but it's actually milk tea with no sugar. It's a little bit tannic, and Not silky smooth at all, but I do love it.

NICE: Tomato-carrot diced beef macaroni uses authentic ingredients instead of rrady-made tomato paste. Beware of crushed cow bones. 

Drinks are to be ordered a-la-carte. They have special drinks that cannot be seen in typical Cha Can Tans in Hong Kong.

HK vs Macau Cha Can Tans: during my stay in Macau, it seems the cha can tans here are more health-conscious and they serve unique beverages that if you are in HK they can only be seen in higher-class cafés. The beverages are decent and cheap(10-25MOP). 

I'm so lucky my friend lives at Rua Fernao Mendes Pinto (a street 5-8 minutes of walk from  Old Taipa Village) so I can easily visit this restaurant, which is just beside the flat.

澳門雖然只是個小島,但這個與香港只是一水之隔的地方,與香港一樣同樣是美食多多,遍佈各處。五星級酒店中的中西食肆的貴價出品固然是信心保証,街頭巷尾的廉價美食也令人印象難忘。就以自己這次兩天一夜的澳門之行為例,兩日的行程,食足六餐,走訪多間口碑甚佳的食肆,所吃的每一餐都有上佳的水準,實在令自己十分滿意。這次行程的第一餐,是在以「牛尾湯通粉」和「紅豆冰」馳名的「喜蓮咖啡美食」吃的早餐。吃的除了這兩款招牌食品外,還有「炸吞拿魚咖喱角」。「牛尾湯通粉」真材實料,材料甚多,蕃茄湯味濃郁,牛尾雖切成小粒,較為細碎,而且難免會有些骨肉相連,但吸了濃味的湯汁之後,與其他的甘筍、洋蔥、西芹等配料和軟硬適中的通粉一起舀進口中,卻簡單而美味。「紅豆冰」以高身厚玻璃杯子送上,份量十足,紅豆甚多,大部分都十分軟腍,夾雜以少許較為硬身有嚼頭的紅豆,感覺不錯。而且這「紅豆冰」的奶味恰可,不會太甜,對我這個不太嗜甜的老饕來說,正好合適。「炸吞拿魚咖喱角」也不俗,夠熱,夠味,也夠香,同樣是水準之作。這間「喜蓮咖啡美食」的食物水準的確不俗,而且價錢合理,難怪有那麼多好評了。

常常聽到人話喜蓮係澳門最好食的茶餐廳,每次經過都超多人無等,某周六中午決定等下,等左大約20分鐘。點左最出名的牛尾通,真係好足料,好多牛,鮮甜味香,通粉就係普通的通粉,食完仲要飲晒個湯。紅豆冰18蚊一杯,超多紅豆大大粒,不過甜左啲...另一位點左嚤囉雞飯,好香好入味,奶茶就普普通通。總括黎講真係不錯,值得等待。

小妹吃完半個的豬扒包當然還有空位就算胃沒有心都還想試多樣~ (即使阿比已”o雪”了1碗咖哩牛腩麵, 他說牛腩很讚哇~) 於是我們再多件1個雞扒包, 還再來1份炸雲吞~ 哈哈哈這次侍者又是很醒目的幫我們將雞扒包<開四> !!!

睇完得意大熊貓,又係時候食下午茶喇,今次去了朋友仔極力推介的喜蓮舊式茶記,雖然去之前睇好哂地圖,但都係搵唔到,問左2個澳門人,一個唔知係邊,另一個很詳細的教我哋點去,謝謝你呀!問左路之後好快搵到,原來係一條小街入面,而且該地方距離官也街的遊客區頗遠,大約15MINS才能到達。雖然今日係閒日,但店內也坐滿食客,而且係一枱走一枱補上,不敢想像假日的景況( 小店逢星期日休息,要吃就要星期一至六LOR)由於D點心仲未落格,我們只叫了牛尾湯通粉($25) 及豬扒包($16)牛尾湯通粉($25)份量很多,若果不太餓,足夠2人享用,不過味道好一般,就像開罐頭湯再加通粉一樣,自己係屋企都煮到既味道!豬扒包($18)好細個,豬扒很薄而且沒有肉汁,比較乾硬,可幸麵包烘得熱辣辣,個包好食過塊豬扒。雖然呢間野都有咁上下名氣,但食物質數其實一般,有D名不副實,如果專程搭船來食就好唔值得LA~

牛尾湯通粉($25)份量很多,若果不太餓,足夠2人享用,不過味道好一般,就像開罐頭湯再加通粉一樣,自己係屋企都煮到既味道!

豬扒包($18)好細個,豬扒很薄而且沒有肉汁,比較乾硬,可幸麵包烘得熱辣辣,個包好食過塊豬扒。

雖然呢間野都有咁上下名氣,但食物質數其實一般,有D名不副實,如果專程搭船來食就好唔值得LA~

喜蓮算是澳門薄有名氣的茶餐廳,口碑一直不錯的食店,近年更成為很多港客駐足之店,作為澳門人的我,才首次嘗試,像遲了一些吧!我很怕一些食肆被自由行看中,感覺會很易因銷量大而影響質素。而當天首嚐卻又令我有些意外。首先,非假期,人不多,就是喜歡澳門特有的悠閒感覺,已暗自加點分數,點了兩杯咖啡,中規中矩,一般茶餐廳質素,玻璃的咖啡杯容量略大,稍嫌有些"頂胃",但可能有人會感覺"抵食"吧!然後點了牛尾湯通粉及西洋腸公仔麵,前者的蕃茄湯酸度適中,牛尾以細骨為主,配通粉是最適合不過;西洋腸經煎香後吸引力增加了不少,這是用心處理食物的結果,這茶餐廳給我第一次很好的印象,值得留評讚賞!

每一次到澳門, 第二天的午餐如果在氹仔一帶的話總會想起這店. 喜歡他的簡單直接, 喜歡平易近人, 喜歡快來快去. 常聽澳門朋友說, 這店也是一家偶有脾氣的性格小生, 我多次去到也沒有遇過, 然而今次卻就有點了! 今年我跟另一位同事往工作, 兩個人兩件行李, 正值中午時間, 在正店是找不到位置的. 一段時間沒去, 不知原來旁邊的餐廳也給他們拿下來. 進隔離鋪, 店員著我到一張已有二人坐的四人桌 (其實是兩張小方枱拚成四人的那款), 而且還不準我們將行李放於出入口的小隙中, 那便基本上要我們攬著吃吧! 我看旁邊有一張貼的二人枱, 我問她可否坐這枱, 因為貼牆不阻人出入. 她便說: "我叫你坐這裡是最好的啦, 還要選什麼?" 我解釋好原因, 她還說: "你還是會將行李放枱邊小隙?! 都是阻人!" 我二話不說將行李放貼牆枱底, 這樣既不阻人, 我也可舒服吃飯." 她見我的解決方法比她能想到的好, 沒好氣的走了, 但是不知是她有意還是無意的忽略我們枱要求落的單.最後我見好她對我們要求的無事, 我便走到她跟前說要落單. 她竟說你們不用急, 看不到我在忙嗎? 待會我會過來跟你寫單. 結果約十分鐘過去

每次來的慣例, 牛尾湯牛仔麵加大陽蛋, 牛尾湯是一貫蕃茄牛尾紅蘿蔔作出來的紅色湯底 (有些標榜牛尾湯的則是用牛尾白蘿蔔的清白湯款), 原來的設定是通粉. 不過我認為公仔麵比通粉更能與牛尾湯混和, 吃來吸取湯的味道, 風味更好. 看見牛尾肉都煮得淋淋的但是還有一點點零星的膠口感覺, 蕃茄紅蘿蔔則軟得沒有組織似的. 而最重要的還是有一隻太陽蛋, 蛋汁的香味已經從多間香港吃早餐的茶餐廳中找不到了, 當你刺穿蛋黃將蛋漿流入牛尾湯中可增加牛尾湯的漿口口感, 亦可增加複雜性, 真是一個一流的配搭.

因為同事是第一次來這裡, 我提議不如試一個這裡的飛碟. 於是點了芝士火腿飛碟, 因為我認為吃飛碟內裡一定要有芝士, 溶溶的芝士味道, 外面的脆口的多士是一絕. 結果這個飛碟亦無失望之下完成.

到喜蓮吃東西已很多年, 多年來, 他們的出品沒有變. 只是以前的親切好像淡化了, 可能香港人也報導多了, 人氣也旺了, 人流餐廳的工作量也緊張了, 令到服務(嚴格來說不是服務, 因為茶餐廳不是應該被要求提供一級良好服務的), 稍不到位. 希望往後喜蓮這位傑出的女企業家能著眼著力, 還我們老客戶的一個可愛喜蓮.
