A while back, I had come to Hungry Lobster for lunch and really quite liked their lobster roll. I think it's become such a regular haunt for me as it's so close to where I live. Curious about their other items, I returned again for dinner and try out other items on their menu.Hungry Lobster is located in the new V Point Building in Causeway Bay's Tang Lung Street. Hungry Lobster is located in the new V Point Building in Causeway Bay's Tang Lung Street. It's street level so you don't even have to go on. Bright and fairly spacious, you order at the cashier and there is no 10% service charge. They have since did some adjustments after my first visit. The main one is they now have a larger paper menu (in English and Chinese). Along with lobster rolls, they also server pasta and steak. I noted they now have combo sets that seem like a pretty good value for money. Lobster Bisque ($58). The soup was rich with a strong taste of lobster. For this price, this was a really good lobster bisque and a good deal. It came with a piece of toast. Lobster Salad ($128). The salad had a huge chunk of juicy lobster. It came with a creamy dressing that tasted a bit like honey mustard. Signature Lobster Roll ($138). This is what I was dreaming of after my first time here and here it is again. I love their lobster rolls. The correct bun is used and it's grilled with butter. The lobster is buttery and not overcooked. And they again added a small container of lemon butter for those that just want more butter. Because seriously ... the reason for a lobster roll is the buttery goodness. And this place delivers. However, I wanted to note that for lunch, they do include a side of salad so you might get a better deal during lunch hour. Grilled Whole Lobster with Salad and Fries ($328). For those that love lobster, this is glorious. The lobster was not overcooked. It came with a salad which was served with a balsamic vinaigrette and fries. The fries were really good. Soft and fluffy centers. Crispy exterior. This came with a ketchup that tasted a bit like cocktail sauce. Whatever, the case, it definitely wasn't Heinz. Lobster Spaghetti ($138). The pasta was a bit of a let down. The pasta was overcooked and soft. I like my pasta al dente. However, the sauce was thick and rich though a bit too much tomato in flavor. It was still a fairly decent sauce.
US Premium Short Ribs ($188) with Fries ($22). As always, there are some people who don't like lobster and want something else. They can order steak. This is a how they serve the short ribs, in diced chunks. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare and tender and moist. Perfectly seasoned, you didn't need sauce for dipping. Quite possibly my favorite lobster roll place in Causeway Bay. I have become such a regular. I love that they have combo deals that are a good value for money. But I saw they have stiff competition as down the street Lobster Central has recently opened. I'll go review that one later.
