We can handle the $200+ cold pizza but we cannot handle the dramas. Even if it would have been the best pizza in the world and minus the dramas it was truly disappointing when you bite into the cold hard cheese and a soggy pizza dough! For a $200+ 1-2 person size pizza with no table service we expect a lot more than what almost felt like a premade pizza, that was not made to order!Perhaps this cold pizza was an isolated incidence on days that the chef owner didn’t see it happening? Perhaps this cold pizza was an isolated incidence on days that the chef owner didn’t see it happening? You would think the chef owner would want to investigate into the incidence to see things thur but instead we were met with an angry chef owner accusing us of making lies without even given us a chance to respond. Yes we were told to go back to pick up what was promised to us a hot pizza but instead we were met with dramas and being called a liar and no pizza! We cannot help but think the dramas inflicted was just the a way to reverse their offer to replace our cold pizza. It couldn’t have been more inconvenient, dramatic and unnecessary. Afterall it was just a pizza made with some flour and cheese which we paid $200+ for.
While we did see very polarized reviews for this place, poor ones mainly for its services and eccentric owner/chef with mediocre food we didn’t think we would experience the dramas to this extent!
Premade Cold Pizza or not you can be the judge of it. Below more detail account of our order and pick up process.
Called around 6:30pm to preorder pizza for pick up. They asked us to leave our number so that they can call us when it’s ready for pick up. We then asked how long it would take as we saw in some reviews it could take up to an hour to be ready. We were surprised to hear that the pizza will be ready in 5-10mins 🤔 when normally it takes much longer. They never called but we made our way there in about 15mins. When we got there they immediately said (even though we didn’t ask) they didn’t call becoz they knew we were coming anyway. Thought that was abit defensive when we weren’t even questioning. No bags so picked up pizza in my hand. Pizza n box didn’t feel hot but didn’t think into it. Peeked into the pizza to make sure it’s the right pizza thought the cheese looked abit hard, but again didn’t think much of it. Went back to the hospital immediately excited. 3 people shared the pizza in addition to other foods we ordered thur room service in the hospital. Opened the pizza box, pizza looked cold and hard, oil sat still in the cheese not runny like you would see in a fresh hot pizza slightly disappointed but we continued. My parents each picked up a slice and said it’s was cold. I defended it and said u can’t expect it hot fresh out the oven. I took a slice and took my first bite. Completely cold and cheese hard, pizza dough soggy and soft not abit of crisp at all like it had been sitting there for sometime not even abit of warmth. There is no way to heat it up in the hospital. Pizza to waste, feeling very disappointed and continued with our other food. N doubt of it being premade or we picked up someone’s wrong order kinda make sense now. So we called them back and told them our experience in which the staff offered to give us a new pizza.
As a baker myself I value the craft and skills of the pizza dough hence willing to pay for something that’s just made with some flour and cheese. If a soggy pizza with cold hard cheese is how it should tastes as a take out it should never have been made available for take out. If that was not how it should tastes then something along the process had gone wrong and worth looking into especially on a day the chef owner was not there! Instead first thing chef owner said to us when we went back was it was not their fault if we didn’t pick up the pizza on time! We reminded him his staff didn’t even call us for pick up. Which he ignored and continued calling us a liar. Immediately we knew there were a lot of omitted information shared between the chef owner and staff and chef owner pouring dramas perhaps intentional.
