After we had so called dinner at the nearby "Gou Kee Beef Briskets", some of us wanted to go somewhere to have fries. I thought of this place and suggested we came here.We went to the affiliate store "The Classified" first, the whole gang of us went up the stairs to the private wine cellar, but when we asked if they offered fries, the waitress said they didn't have it here....we asked if she could order from Press Room and had the fries "transport" to here...but she said its not possible and i

We went to the affiliate store "The Classified" first, the whole gang of us went up the stairs to the private wine cellar, but when we asked if they offered fries, the waitress said they didn't have it here....we asked if she could order from Press Room and had the fries "transport" to here...but she said its not possible and instead she helped us to make a reservation for a table at the Press Room.
We all marched our way to the Press Room.
First thing we ordered of course were fries ("Frites") x 2 ($37 each) - the fries came with a tin can, its super crispy and very yummy, I was delighted and couldn't stop eating the fries. It was so good that we ordered two more fries.
We also ordered the following:
Garlic Bread $45 each x 2 - should I call it TOAST ? Its just like a square like toast when it came, its kind of dark looking, but it also tasted pretty good, although due to the no. of people, we had to "dissect" it into smaller pieces for everyone to try.
Mushrooms - butter like mushroom sauce, its quite nice but of cos the other food outshine it.
I ordered a cup of ice-chocolate $ 45 for myself. The Classified / The Pressroom was famous for the hot chocolate, but since I tried the hot one before, I went for the cold one this time. The iced chocolate tasted like chocolate flakes, cos because I think it was cold so some of the chocolate was unable to fully melt before it was served...it was a bit tasteless in the middle....I would say the cold choc was so so, not as special as the hot choc served at The Classified / Vero (they had really rich chocolate taste).
Finally, we ordered Oyster (French) special #4 a dozen $362 and Bruny Bay (Aussie) a dozen $362. The Pressroom did not do well / rinsed well when they opened the shell of the Oysters, it got the shell pieces leftover and very "sandy". The French Oysters were quite salty compared with the Aussie one, I liked the Aussie one better.
We also ordered 2 bottles of Inno. Pinot WBT $460 each bottle. The wine was nice.
The restaurant closed at 12:20am, we hanged around till 12 mid-night before we left.
The food was as expected good, especially the fries! Service was nice too. I would definitely come back.
