第一次試呢間裝修頗有特色的日本餐廳,可惜失望而回。叫左3樣野食包括“螢光螺片”-過咸;“壽司拼盤”-味道普通但平均$20件絕對唔值;“關東煮螺片”-過咸加上價錢貴得極度不合理。總括而言,除裝修有特色呢個賣點外,論食物質素、價錢和服務質素都好難令人滿意!

叫左3樣野食包括“螢光螺片”-過咸;“壽司拼盤”-味道普通但平均$20件絕對唔值;“關東煮螺片”-過咸加上價錢貴得極度不合理。

總括而言,除裝修有特色呢個賣點外,論食物質素、價錢和服務質素都好難令人滿意!

題外話/補充資料: 不當的推銷手法: 係點野食的時候,我先叫左一個凍食“螢光魷魚”($45)和一客“壽司拼盤”($260)。之後我問店老闆有咩小食好介紹,佢一口氣講左好幾樣推介。最後我揀左一道個餐牌上無的“關東煮加螺片”(老闆叫)的所謂“小食”。賣單的時候先發現原來個道“關東煮加螺片”的“小食”盛惠($468)。我記得個餐牌上最貴的“刺身拼盤”都只係($580)到,個幾塊螺片味道唔好之餘重要貴得如此不合理! 雖然我無問及該推介的價錢,我覺得個老闆係推銷食物的時候有“責任”提醒番客人該食物的售價,特別係“餐牌無列明”、加上“成本餐牌9成野食都係($100-$200)到”,而老闆呢個“小食”推介卻要成($500),相當於成盤刺身的價錢! 最重要的係當我賣單同佢投訴的時候,佢的態度極差,重講“食日本野($500)已經算平”、“我都無迫你食”等的說話,完全無誠意去照顧客人的感受! 咁差服務質素的餐廳就算食物幾好(我食個3樣都係貴夾唔好食),都唔會令客人滿意,遊客有同樣經歷的話絕對令香港蒙羞。 總結係食物質素平庸,價錢太高,服務質素超差! 剛睇到前幾個的評論都係投訴此店的服務質素,希望有興趣試食的朋友加以警惕。

說是昭和風,總令人不禁想起那時代的卡通片。藤子不二雄、手塚治虫、赤塚不二夫,我們都是看這些長大的。不過我們熟悉的人物,大部份都沒有在這裡看到。餐廳找來當時的舊報章雜誌,以及一些在市面販售過的商品廣告作為裝飾,懷舊是懷舊,不過未能產生共鳴。這個經過醃漬帶辣味的明太子,配豆腐味道剛好。塗在豆腐上的明太子,厚厚一層,咬在咀裡,最愛的就是那種顆粒感,不過燒豆腐不夠熱,一下子就涼了,要趁熱才好吃。串燒拼盤有6款串燒,包括車厘茄、栗米、雞肉大蔥、雞肉棒、雞軟骨和雞翼。串燒除了要求食材新鮮,還講求燒的功夫,因為端來的速度、溫度,令我一度懷疑是不是用微波爐翻熱的。牛舌和雞翼都灑了黑椒,但我認為其實不需要,因為簡簡單單鹽燒已經很好吃。醬燒鰻魚玉子味道不錯,鰻魚跟玉子味道挺搭。玉子的蛋香算是突出,可惜很快冷掉,不夠熱。茶漬飯味道中規中距,是今餐中最熱的一個菜式。菠蘿雪葩賣相非常討好,菠蘿小巧可愛,軾易把我迷倒。同場還有蘋果雪葩,一樣都是用原個蘋果來盛載。雪葩味道很有菠蘿的香味,入口發現雖然帶有菠蘿的果肉,但雪葩的甜非常人工化,騙不了人。另外,本次亦有嚐店內的巨蜂提子酒,入口只嚐到果汁的甜,酒精濃度似乎太輕

菠蘿雪葩賣相非常討好,菠蘿小巧可愛,軾易把我迷倒。同場還有蘋果雪葩,一樣都是用原個蘋果來盛載。雪葩味道很有菠蘿的香味,入口發現雖然帶有菠蘿的果肉,但雪葩的甜非常人工化,騙不了人。

另外,本次亦有嚐店內的巨蜂提子酒,入口只嚐到果汁的甜,酒精濃度似乎太輕了點,可能只有1%?

題外話/補充資料: 要消費滿$500才可以刷咭。 來光顧的客人挺多,建議預先訂枱。

It's been a while since my last review here on OpenRice. I have been away from Hong Kong studying, but now I'm back for good and the reviews will come piling in!This one is an awesome way to start off my blogging again. To say that my experience at 八王子 was HORRIFYING is an understatement. The Tamago with Eel was average. It was room temperature - not hot enough but not cold. It was soft and quite nice with the sauce of the eel.

The Roasted Salmon California Roll was quite nice. The salmon was roasted until it was half cooked and it was a good combination with the sushi roll.

The Hamachi Sashimi was the best dish of the night. I was fresh and good value for money. we also ordered other dishes such as Toro Sushi Roll, Avocado Shrimp Sushi Roll, Soft Shell Crab Salad, Sashimi Salad, Deep Fried Tofu and Sushi Platter. I thought their sushi and sashimi was better than their other dishes.

About 45 minutes later, we were done with everything on the table. There was one item that we were still waiting for - the cheese mochi cake (芝士年糕). So we waited about 10 minutes before we asked our waiter. He helped us follow up with the kitchen. After another 10 minutes, we asked again. He told us politely that the kitchen would need another 5 minutes. So we waited. Another 15 minutes went by and it still didn't come. We asked the waiter to come by so that we could cancel it. My boyfriend, Mr. K, asked him if it was possible to cancel it because we have waited way too long and that the rest of our food was finished 30 minutes ago. 
At this time, the boss had already changed out of his uniform and having a drink with one of his customers/friends at a table nearby. He heard what we said, interrupted his staff, and told us loudly that "IT'S COMING, IT'S COMING." 

Mr.K: We have been told that it was coming for the past 30 minutes and it has still not arrived. We have finished all our food ages ago and we would really like to cancel it. (Note that up until now, the conversation between Mr. K, the boss and the waiter was still happening in a very civilized manner.)
Boss: (to the waiter) OK OK, just take it off the bill. 
Just as we thought that this was the end of it, the boss turned to Mr. K and began SHOUTING across the restaurant, the exact words below:
Boss: HEY, CALM DOWN, BOY! 



My friend, shocked that these words just came out of his mouth, told the boss NICELY to stop telling his customers to "calm down". 
Boss: THIS IS MY PLACE, THIS IS MY PLACE.

We refused to believe that this was happening. At this point, the two other tables next to us were staring in disbelief. One of them, who were also English speakers, started to giggle. We did not say anything.

Boss: DO YOU WANT E TO KNEEL ON THE FLOOR AND SAY SORRY TO YOU? DO YOU WANT ME TO FIRE ALL MY STAFF? WILL YOU BE HAPPY THEN?



The other table asked for the bill and left. We immediately asked for the bill too. As if that wasn't enough, we eventually realized that the restaurant had charged us for a beer that we didn't order. However, since we had already paid, there was no point in returning. Safe to say, none of us will ever return.
I am not sure why the boss would speak to his customers in such a manner. Whether it was under the influence of alcohol or not, it is unacceptable for a boss to act that way in front of his staff and customers. I feel sorry for the members of staff that served us that day, as they were doing their job well but ended up getting no tips. I would've come back for the food, but after this incident, never again.

我地係看到個時代壽司拼盤的大小(佢指比我地看的)覺得都足夠三個女孩食; 5-6種類型 x 3片.差唔多落完單時,佢又突然COMMENT話「ERRRRRR…你個拼盤係一人份量泥個WO,3個人唔夠食」,個刻我真係O晒咀 shocked ,我地3個人食幾多野關佢咩事lei,跟住我好好聲氣話「如果我地唔夠食先再叫啦」佢突然怒啤左我一秒話「小姐,其實我地呢到都幾忙下嫁,睇下外面幾多人等緊位,我地應該幫唔到你落第二次單」之後我未有D怒氣咁啤左佢兩秒話「哦!你留底個餐牌係到啦」跟住佢反左一下白眼同「JIT」左一聲,跟住叫左第二條友泥搶我地餐牌(真係從我手中搶走).

Over 1小時等待:
OK咁都算,唯有等野食啦,我地8:00pm到坐底同點菜,其實半個中頭內D野都泥晒,但係佢個壽司拼盤同串燒拼盤去到9:20pm都未泥.
我同兩個FRIEND連續叫左佢3,4個WAITER追單,但係都冇反應,最後我地話要CUT單,佢先比個壽司拼盤我地.係之後既10分鐘我地不斷咁催個串燒拼盤或者CUT單,佢地都唔理我地.

被無視:
我地見到個老細都好似好得閒咁丫,成日係抬與抬之間同D客吹水,成日自己走泥走去同唱歌,點解佢唔去幫我地呢D客去追追單呢,我都真係匪夷所思.

最後我個平時好林善既FRIEND都忍唔住走埋去個老細搭緊既另一張抬到,本身個老細都仲係好nice咁同個抬人傾計,但我個FRIEND叫佢幫我地CUT單,佢個態度就180度轉變,好大聲咁同我個FRIEND講「咁到底仲有咩未泥呀!」!! 之後咁先至埋到單咋.
其實我地個晚都趕時間,真係谷鬼氣!!!
即使食物再好食, we will for sure not come back again.

平心而論,食物水準唔算話好好食但都叫做合格
係份量少d

當中有一客係魚生拼盤

另一個年輕女侍應幫我哋落單時,remind我哋魚生拼盤好細碟,份量唔夠六個人食 。
我哋就答佢: 如果唔夠我哋到時會再加單

五分鐘後,中年女侍應又再出場,同我哋講魚生拼盤好細碟,唔會夠你哋六個人食。 朋友就同佢解釋我哋有人唔食魚生,而且到時真係唔夠食的話先再叫其他嘢食

跟住佢竟然好不屑咁話: 我已經預先同你講咗唔夠食,
唔好一陣見到咁細碟就係度E口E面(仲做埋表情出嚟)

我同朋友們聽完第一個反應係勁嬲!

第一,佢說話既語氣非常無禮貌
第二,佢點判斷我哋食量有幾大(我哋六個都係女仔)

我哋嬲到想cancel個客魚生拼盤,但由於已經take order,佢哋話唔可以取消 於是繼續硬食

本來係同朋友慶祝生日,而家搞到氣氛咁差簡直食不知味,但成件事仲未係完結!
我哋點d嘢只嚟咗一半,班侍應已經不時走過嚟問我哋需唔需要加單
前後一共問咗三次,請問一半都未食完點知洗唔洗加?
而且我哋食咁耐全程無同幫我哋加茶或者收碟 ,我朋友叫女侍應斟茶時,佢直頭成個水壺丟俾我哋就走咗
我同朋友全程食咗唔夠一個鐘就決定埋單走人,連蛋糕都唔係度切,拎走! 呢個時候年輕女侍應終於過嚟收碟,但佢竟然指使我朋友幫佢遞碟!

其實佢自己行多步一樣可以拎到隻碟,絕對有足夠且充份既空間俾佢走動。無茶斟連碟都要你幫佢收埋,完全唔知呢d係乜嘢service!
 
我哋等咗一陣,見咁耐都未有單就問一個男侍應係咪已經幫我哋埋緊數
侍應就答我哋係
然後因為我哋諗住轉去第二度再食過
於是有兩名友人行咗去上層先(想搵下場)
呢個時候佢哋至發現原來埋單係要自己行去cashier俾錢的
但完全無人同我哋提及過,而且拎張會員卡出嚟俾錢
仲要俾人衰聲衰氣咁話星期五係無得用
呢個時候我同另外三個朋友仲未知上面發生咩事
坐係下面呆等,然後聽到執完碟既年輕女侍應同佢同事講:「仲有四個坐係度」 言下之意好似想話我哋霸住佢d位賴死唔走

其實八王子D食物質素尚可,但係班waitress既質素真係不知所謂
總之唔會再有第二次幫襯

OK咁都算,唯有等野食啦,我地8:00pm到坐底同點菜,其實半個中頭內D野都泥晒,但係佢個壽司拼盤同串燒拼盤去到9:20pm都未泥.
我同兩個FRIEND連續叫左佢3,4個WAITER追單,但係都冇反應,最後我地話要CUT單,佢先比個壽司拼盤我地.係之後既10分鐘我地不斷咁催個串燒拼盤或者CUT單,佢地都唔理我地.


被無視:

我地見到個老細都好似好得閒咁丫,成日係抬與抬之間同D客吹水,成日自己走泥走去同唱歌擾亂D客,點解佢唔去幫我地呢D客去追追單呢,我都真係匪夷所思.
最後我個平時好林善既FRIEND都忍唔住走埋去個老細搭緊既另一張抬到,本身個老細都仲係好nice咁同個抬人傾計,但我個FRIEND叫佢幫我地CUT單,佢個態度就180度轉變,好大聲勁惡咁同我個FRIEND講「咁到底仲有咩未泥呀!」!!
之後咁先至埋到單咋.

其實我地個晚都趕時間,真係谷鬼氣!!!

Payment: Be careful. Only receive credit card if you consume over $500 
. Never heard such minimum transaction amount elsewhere. Also, tea charge is required $6 each person. 

In conclusion, 唔駛錢都不會再去。

Service 差都不在話下,waiter 狂sell D貴嘢比我地。食物質素奇差,音樂播到勁大聲,食到我吾舒服!牛油果卷pat牛油果又細又稀, 見到都吾開胃,sushi roll 塊紫菜又濕又淋,直頭想嘔!個普通sukiyaki 野菜碢都要$800,極度吾值。最後張單貴到我地呆咗,每人要食成$360,冇野呀!發誓吾會再幫襯!

在7時去到,八王子居酒屋,不用等位就有得食la~~一開始,推介1600元的象拔....餐,唔太中意甘比人sell........牆上掛滿日本五六十年代的電影海報,很有懷舊感覺。點了個刺身,算是好新鮮,但都幾貴,要成400元~~找了樣幾特別的串燒,荔枝煙肉.....牛舌,比較un....無講得甘好食.......d 火炙壽司要成40元一件~~~~都算燒得唔錯的~~

Everyone looking at the overwhelming number of smilies on openrice should be aware that there has been a (complete?) change in the kitchen team at 八王子.

We went for some post-concert snack yesterday, and alas, the quality of the food served was completely different from when we visited a few years back. The problem with the food? Here goes:

-- The ox tongue was chewy as hell with an aftertaste suggesting that it's been *aged* (even the tonne of black pepper failed to mask that taste),
-- The chicken wings un- / under-seasoned,
-- The dried fugu, served lukewarm, was barely grilled.
-- The tamagoyaki was overcooked, quite dry and had a strange sour taste, and not to mention that
-- The daikon relish on the side has turned sour and was warm. The only saving grace was perhaps the tofu, which was marginally OK (that was at least hot).

On top of that, we were told that they ran out of Asahi draught -- but only out of the large one, not the small one. That was outrageous. DRAUGHT. FROM THE TAP. How could one possibly run out of small Asahi and not the large one? We guessed it was that they ran out of the small jug -- but when we switched to ordering the (more expensive) oolong highball, volia, it was served in half-pint Asahi glasses.


Their official response when we complained: "we serve small Asahi in jugs with a handle, and we've ran out of those." I don't buy that excuse at all. There wasn't any sight of a small Asahi jug in the dining room, so the only possible reason was that they're pushing the pint version because that's $8 more expensive. Come on, people. If you run a business, look at the *margin*...

Naturally we complained re. the food quality. The waitress, avoiding eye contact at all times, reluctantly admitted that whilst ownership hasn't changed, there has been a COMPLETE change of kitchen team. No timing was provided, but it's reasonable to suggest that the current kitchen is not run by the people who earned the many smilies here.


Just to add to the insult, when we tried to pay the bill, we were told that because we haven't spend more than $500, we cannot pay by credit card. On complaining that we do not have cash and insisting on paying by card, they relented. But hell, these days it's normal for people to pay by credit card, and I really fail to comprehend the monumentous stupidity of trying to implement such a policy without letting their customer know.

At over $200 per head, this meal had serious mismatch between price and quality -- all the items we had were listed above. 2 drinks, 3 skewers (double ox tongue), tamagoyaki, dried fugu and tofu. I'd reckon this is more expensive than many better 居酒屋 but quality was no match at all.

Oh and service was bad too -- felt like cha chaan teng. Kind of friendly, yes. But given the manager (?) didn't want to listen to our complaints on the food and dared to put that "I don't care, bugger off" look on his face, I'd feel obliged to put a short note here so others would fare better.

TL;DR: I would not recommend any friend of my to dine at this place.

Cool looking place with not bad service. Things went downhill when the waiter pushed the specials and pushed and pushed some more.The food was “ok” at best.Sushi plate (looked like a 5 year old put it together) .Salad was wet and old lettuce.Tofu tested like sawdust Asked for the chicken the waiter said :”yes I know” at that moment I should have asked the price (my own fault).Got the bill and the chicken was the most expensive thing on the bill, checked the menu and only 3 items in the restaur

今晚同朋友去尖沙咀吃飯,想試試聞名已久的「八王子居酒屋」,未進入店內時,我以為店舖好細,誰知原來有地庫的,而且地庫更寬敞,牆上掛滿日本五六十年代的電影海報,很有懷舊感覺。我們兩個人點了三個菜。特選壽司盛合($198)有我喜歡的海膽、三文魚、劍魚、吞拿魚、元貝、魚子、海蝦等,都算肥美鮮甜,新鮮度就一般,以$198得十二件,嫌太少了。鳥串物(串燒)拼盤($98)共六串,有雞肉、雞翼、豬肉、雞皮、車厘子和粟米,燒得很香脆,我當中尤其喜歡雞翼串外表燒得金黃脆口,肉質也夠爽,很惹味。露筍鵝肝炒飯($108)當送來食物時,也頓覺香氣撲鼻,鵝肝好在軟綿綿的,我將它打散,撈勻在飯裡,更覺每粒飯也好味,而飯本身也炒得恰當地腍,吃得出有醬汁在內,落足料。 而露筍雖然淸甜,可惜份量太少。「八王子」的食物質素屬中上,價錢略貴,而可能我今次運氣差,遇上差勁的服務,落漏單,遲上菜,上錯食物,在同一餐飯裡出現,就算食物不差,但這樣的服務就令我好勞氣,認真失望!

當送來食物時,也頓覺香氣撲鼻,鵝肝好在軟綿綿的,我將它打散,撈勻在飯裡,更覺每粒飯也好味,而飯本身也炒得恰當地腍,吃得出有醬汁在內,落足料。 而露筍雖然淸甜,可惜份量太少。

「八王子」的食物質素屬中上,價錢略貴,而可能我今次運氣差,遇上差勁的服務,落漏單,遲上菜,上錯食物,在同一餐飯裡出現,就算食物不差,但這樣的服務就令我好勞氣,認真失望!
題外話/補充資料: 地庫的電話訊號及3G都好弱, 另, 地庫的服務員也少.

話說我哋四個「好姊妹」去慶祝其中一個姊妹生日~~~

再黎個「加拿大海膽」~~~
呢個海膽, 不得了!!望落都有成板架啦, $150左右, 一上枱, 我即刻就高呼:
「食完呢板海膽, 真係會好大膽!!」
海膽夾住紫菜, 再加少少Wasabi, 海水味加少少wasabi「弓鼻」嘅感覺, 正!!
(壽星女唔食海膽, 但都肯食, 仲話好好味, 一試再試添^^)

我自己自私地叫左一隻燒蠔試吓, 其實同普通燒蠔冇咩分別, 不過勝在夠抵食, 成隻手掌咁大, 都係$30~~

有位姊妹叫左隻芝士燒帶子, 望落似一大隻, 但其實入面有三粒帶子, 我冇試到, 俾唔到分了。

另外我哋仲叫左明太子燒豆腐, 明太子好多, 夾嗰陣要有啲技巧, 好容易會跌哂啲明太子...同埋佢本身都偏咸, 如果食唔到就唔好叫了。

有一個必叫嘅!!!--->荔枝煙肉卷!!
睇餐牌嗰陣, 見到荔枝同煙肉, 兩樣完全扯唔上任何關係嘅東西, 仲要拎去燒...咁奇怪嘅???
不過我哋當試新嘢咁, 咩都試吓啦, 食落發覺荔枝同煙肉係出奇地夾啊!!!荔枝嘅清甜味中和左煙肉嘅咸味, 咬落粒荔枝仲好juicy!!
我哋仲encore, 叫多碟添!!

其實我哋仲叫左好多其他嘅嘢食, 我只係揀左啲特別啲嘅影低~~~

我哋今餐大概$1500, 張單三個人share, 每人$500
壽星女生日, 無所謂啦~~^^

題外話/補充資料: 餐廳嘅裝修係日本古時居酒屋嘅設計, 好有氣氛~~~ 失望嘅係, 我同其中一位姊妹其實想叫大阪燒餅食, 我哋見到個餐牌有燒餅嘅相, 但係冇得叫....T_T

朋友在這網站搜尋了很久.. 找到了這家料理..並說評語不錯.. 若是食物質數不好.. 環境感覺亦可以作為補償.. 值得一試!踏進了這店.. 感覺是很好的.. 環境真的不錯.. 很有傳統日本特色..雖然侍應們很忙碌.. 未能及時照顧所有客人..但等待時也可給我們感受一下店內佈置的懷舊風情!食物款色不算多.. 但熟的食物沒有什麼特別.. 算是一般..特別的在壽司上的魚生.. 品質確實新鮮.. 味道亦很鮮甜..沒想到會有這個驚喜.. 令人回味!這頓晚餐.. 滿足得很
