聞說師傅是新加坡最有名的文華。抱著最大的希望而去,亦帶著最大的失望而回。飯不夠香,雞不夠滑,湯淡淡的,實在叫人受不了....香港的海南雞飯有很多選擇,這個是很差的,不會再比機會佢!

話說我媽好喜歡食海南雞所以未帶佢去試下.一去到見到好多人.心想一定好好食.我地等佐30-45min到啦~入到去見到好多吉位.都唔明點解唔一早叫人入去.可能想扮旺呀~個喇唦d蝦係梅架~魚蛋雪味好重,d海南雞好"鞋" 但個蘿蔔糕就唔錯啦~e間食一次就夠啦~唔會再有第二次.

was expecting to be similar to the hoi nam chicken that i had when i was in singapore.......very disappointed.ordered a chicken drum stick rice set - chicken was not fresh.........tasted like a pc of meat but nothing else.also ordered a seafood la sa............the noodle was like rice noodle.....that's not real la sa......for 2 persons, the dinner was HKD235.......did not enjoy at all......However, service was pretty good....but wouldn't go again because of the food.

I have always wanted to try this place out because I am a big fan of Hainan Chicken Rice. I had the chicken rice at the Mandarin in Singapore a few times and I think it is superb!

So we arrived at Hainan Shaoye around 1:30, there were 2 people waiting in line. We waited for about 15mins eventhough the lineup was short, I just thought that the place must be packed because it was lunch time. When we entered the restaurant, there were about 2 more empty tables, as some other people commented, they make the customers to lineup to make an illusion to others that the place is packed!

We ordered 2 chicken rice set and the arrived in about 5 mins. I could tell that this chicken rice is not the same as the one in Chatterbox! The rice was a total disaster! It was very soft and very salty! I could taste the same aroma that the Mandarin chicken rice had! And why would they put soy sauce in the chicken?? The chicken is not very tender and the taste is not specially fresh! The 3 dipping sauces are not very tasty as well! This $88 rice set is even worst than a normal 茶餐 restaurant's chicken rice!!

Don't be fooled! Definitely nothing close to the Singapore Mandarin Hotel's yummy chicken rice. No need to try!

走進餐廳,一片懷舊,有古時少爺喜愛的雀籠及山水畫,氣氛絕對配合小店之取名.

招牌海南少爺雞及招牌海南少爺燒雞(雞脾+$10) $98
既然海南雞是簽名菜式,當然要盡情試齊兩種款式.兩客飯除了是燒雞及白雞之分別外,所有配料相同.基本一客海南雞脾飯其實已相當大堆頭,有一碟起骨雞脾,跟4小碟醬料,一碗飯,一碟菜及一杯清湯,單看賣相,已垂涎三尺.

少爺選雞嚴謹,據說只用指定農場之1.5-1.7公斤的三黃雞,以保證質素.還公開了祕方,做法是先以鹽,蒜頭和香茅等多種香料醃過夜,第二天再用熱雞湯浸幾分鐘,拿起降溫,然後再浸,重覆多次,最後還要過冷河.得知有此繁複程序,已經值回票價.

見雞脾細細,能辨出不是本地打針肥雞,記憶中最驚嚇的是金牛宛的南乳吊燒雞,首次見識到有此火雞般大的肥雞,雞件解直比一般食肆大一倍,肥大而無味!返回海南少爺,一隻雞脾斬成六,七件,皮下脂肪頗薄,可惜雞皮已鬆開離肉,外觀略為失色,大啖咬之,皮香肉嫩,需然鮮雞味淡,但調味出色,清淡卻香甜,只覺疑是冰鮮雞貨式.難怪之,在香港找質素好的鮮雞不容易,價錢亦高.猜想指定農場可能位於國內,屠宰後冰鮮運港,所以新鮮程度打折.

醬汁齊全,有黑醬油,酸辣醬及薑茸,具傳统風味,稍嫌辛辣味並不特出,橙色的酸椒醬辣味溫和,薑茸薑蒜味不強,最愛的還是黑油,濃郁甜稠.

原來奶白色似pate的那小碟是皮蛋慕絲,並非醬汁,首次品嚐,非常幼滑有皮蛋香,口感新鮮,用來送飯或淨食亦可.

海南雞實是一雞肉配香飯之菜餚,可見香飯之重要性,最重要的是米要上等,處理程序不可偷減.未嚐先嗅一下飯香,果然泛著淡淡香料芬芳,淡淡雞油香,米飯香綿軟滑,卻又不油不膩,據說是用雞湯,蒜頭,南薑,香芽和斑蘭葉香料煨製而成,怪不得令人回味無窮,我們忍不住多點一碗淨雞飯 $18.

一杯清雞湯,清甜可口,內有爽口生菜及滑溜豆腐,濃郁雞香,真是雞痴的恩物.

菜遠嫩綠,正好均衡一下大家大魚大肉之飲食.

來個總結,果然有料,大師風範,必吃之選
,但當然仍有可改進之處.

精選海鮮喇沙 $88
精選海鮮包括有大蝦兩只,帶子,魚片及豆卜,卻欠獅蚶,材料並不齊全,唔夠正宗.海鮮皆算新鮮,喇沙粉是幼身米粉,盡吸海鮮及喇沙湯之精華,十分滋味,涼了才吃也沒有黏稠在一起;湯底帶辣有椰香,能辨出有熬上多小時之蝦香,但總是欠缺些濃惹.


參巴醬烤魔鬼魚 $78
參巴醬非常了得,濃烈豐富,辣椒,蝦,蒜頭,乾蔥頭之辛辣味集於一身,配以鮮甜嫩滑之魔鬼魚同吃,非常匹配,魚肉亦煎得香口,連魚骨也軟至可吃,有水準之作
, 而且價錢比其他食肆便宜,於中環Shiok反Parsha一客賣百多元.

肉骨茶鐵沙煲 $78
鐵沙煲菜式有多款,有豬尾及其他,還是選了最普遍之肉骨茶,沙煲用個藤籃上隔熱,奇怪地煲內的湯並不太熱,肉骨茶內有三條肉骨,豬骨味濃,藥材味卻不濃,不及現成湯包於家中烹調的濃烈,有些失望,可能是担心當歸及其他藥材的霸氣蓋過肉湯,未必適合香港人的口味,例如我的食友就是欣賞它的清淡.


黑蘿蔔糕 $58
黑蘿蔔糕炒得香口,黑醬油濃烈,蘿蔔糕唔鬆散有咬口,盡吸黑油香味,算可口,但並不出色.

少爺沙爹6串 (可選雞,牛或猪肉) $48
我們選了6串皆是牛肉,沙爹醬具芳辛香辣風味,濃郁豐富,頓覺走到星州Clark Quey街頭覓食,牛肉香嫩,但始終不及街頭炭燒熱騰騰之口感,少爺沙爹,值得推介.


整體上所有菜式都做得唔錯,只是不明為何把濃惹風味調淡,讓愛吃星馬菜之人不夠滿足!

滿意的一餐,定必再度光顧,重温海南雞,及試其他菜式.

期待咗嚟呢度食好耐, 因為近幾期飲食男女, U Magazine都有提過呢間鋪話個老闆開過幾多間食肆, 個廚師有幾咁犀利今日終於嚟到, 一心諗住要試個海南雞飯結果, 到落order個陣, 待應哥哥竟然同我講,「唔好意思, 我地啲雞油飯賣哂, 白飯你介唔介意?」有咩可能會唔介意!?! 雞油飯係海南雞飯o既靈魂, 你會唔會俾 $88 食一個海南雞白飯?$88 我去街市可以買隻白切雞送飯啦!!!!!結果梗係冇叫到, 要咗另一個招牌菜海鮮喇沙啲餸就幾足料, 但個湯底唔ok口感太薄, 唔夠椰香, 尖咀間好時好佢九條街另外仲叫咗半打串燒, 豬牛雞各2寸個份量犀利到呢, 面積應該係0.5寸闊 x 3寸長不過味道係ok o既.......雖然食唔到個海南雞飯, 但應該都唔會再嚟

We passed by this restaurant during one of our random trek of the malls in Causeway Bay. At first glance this restaurant did not catch out attention. However, my friend was hungry and we noticed there was a small line gathering, we decided to give this place a try with high hope due to the acclaimed reviews by a renowned Hong Kong Culinary Celebrity and also because of the line. We passed by this restaurant during one of our random trek of the malls in Causeway Bay. At first glance this restaurant did not catch out attention. However, my friend was hungry and we noticed there was a small line gathering, we decided to give this place a try with high hope due to the acclaimed reviews by a renowned Hong Kong Culinary Celebrity and also because of the line. The place shouldn't be bad with such a line. During our wait, I overhead a middle-aged couple inquiring about making reservations. The staff at the reception desk indicated there aren't any open booking until the middle of September 2010.

Once we got our seats, we noticed 1/3 of the tables were empty. We then realized the maître d'hôtel was trying to create a sense of popularity outside with a long waiting line. We waited for about 15 minutes to get our order. We noticed customers that arrived after us have been eating for some time already. We inquired about the status of our order. The kitchen forgot our order!!! We had to wait another 5 minutes for the order.

We tried two of the restaurant's best renowned dish: Hainan Chicken w/ Oily Rice Set and Bah Kut Te. We changed the Hainan Chicken to dark meat for an extra fee. For drink, ordered lime with Soda. He ordered 7-Up with lemon.

Our total cost was:

2 x Hainan Chicken = HKD 176 (HKD88/EA)
2 x Dark Meat = HKD20 (HKD10/EA)
1 x Bah Kut Te = HKD78
2 x Drinks = HKD50 (HKD25/EA)
1 x 10% Svc Chg = 32.4
Total = HKD356.4

The first thing I tried was the Hainan Chicken Set. The set came with the 10 small strips of deboned chicken, 8 pieces of vegetables, 4 dishes of sauces, a pot of soup, a bowl with 3 pieces of diced tofu and a bowl of rice. The chicken was bland and tasteless. The sauces were pretty looking, however, the flavor was very light. This could be a good thing, eating lighter in flavor should be healthier for your body. The soup was okay because it wasn't too salty and I couldn't taste the mono-sodium glutamate. The vegetable was very cold and tasteless. I was expecting the vegetable to be at least warm. Nothing would justify the cost of this meal. Even, the Hainan Chicken meal at a local Hong Kong Tea Cafe would be better priced at approximately HK40. I would gladly recommend this set if it was set around HKD40 because of the cheap price. I would recommend eating the same or a similar meal at Fairwood or Cafe de Coral instead.

The Bah Kut Te smelled herbal when it arrived at our table. The soup was a clear broth. However, the instant I took a bite of one of the four pieces of meat, I know this Bah Kut Te is below satisfactory level. The meat was slightly tough and none of the flavor of the soup went into the meat. I could tell this Bah Kut Te was made on the spot with the meat dumped in t order. Tender loving care and time were not used in creating this soup.

My drink was too sweet. I could tell extra syrup was added into the soda. I expected a soda with very light or no sweetness at all.

All in all, I strongly do not recommend this restaurant due to the false waiting time in the restaurant's marketing ploy to create a sense of popularity, the poor quality of service and the sub-par quality of food at such a ridiculous price.

While there is great attention to and interest in this restaurant's Hainan chicken and chicken rice, we are impressed and delighted with the great hidden treasure found in their Lobster Laksa which is served in a large bowl of rich , spicy, coconut soup based rice vermecelli with bean curd ball, clams, pawns and fish balls. While there is great attention to and interest in this restaurant's Hainan chicken and chicken rice, we are impressed and delighted with the great hidden treasure found in their Lobster Laksa which is served in a large bowl of rich , spicy, coconut soup based rice vermecelli with bean curd ball, clams, pawns and fish balls. Then there is a red fresh looking juicy whole lobster served on a separate plate to accompany the Laksa. The lobster is of excellent quality with tasty and springy lobster tail meat. The whole Lobster Laksa is delicious and most filling. I you have a small size stomach, two persons can feast one one order. There is no worry or debate about the degree of "hotness" here as the chilii or hot sauce is served in a separate small dish and each person can add the appropriate amount of hot sauce according to their own taste or liking. So if you don't eat hot food at all ,you canstill enjoy this sumptious Lobster Laksa meal as well! The price tag for all of these is only an amazing $158 !

湯之後,就吃海南雞,是加了錢轉雞脾的。由於是脾位,吃起來一定是比雞胸部份嫩滑,而且雞是去了骨的,啖啖肉,亦有丁點的雞味,撇開了隻雞是「甩皮甩骨」,我認為這出品是合格的。

吃海南雞飯,另一主角就是雞油飯,雞油飯的好壞絕對會影響很多的分數。這裡的雞油飯,乾身而爽口,帶有油香,亦吃得到南薑味道,已算不錯。至於油菜,算是爽甜,但蠔油稀稀的,或許以蠔汁去形容更為貼切。

再說海南雞飯的另一靈魂,三色醬。個人永遠最喜歡黑醬油,甜甜的,濃稠得宜,既能提升雞的味道,送飯亦很不錯;這裡的薑茸,稀稀的,沒什麼薑汁味道;最後的酸辣汁,也是我最不喜歡的加工材料。還有那個我覺得很小家的燉蛋,面頭的皮蛋慕思,味道唔差,但若不跟我說,真的吃不出是什麼。而下層的燉蛋,沒啥蛋香,普普通通。

再來的是肉骨茶,熱呼呼的,幾件大排骨不會韌,都幾好食;湯底色水不算很深,喝一口,有頗重的藥材味道,反而肉香味稍遜。配上的油條,稔稔的,不過點著湯吃,影響不會太大。

最後是食海鮮釀油條,今次的油炸鬼就炸得非常香脆,即使裡頭的蝦膠味道不出眾,只要酒條夠香口,再加上芝麻的香,總不會難吃的,最多當是就咁食油炸鬼好了。

見好多人在外面等位,吃完便快快埋單走人,不要阻住個地球轉。再次多謝Tim哥請食飯!

中午時段十二點到。不用等位,我們兩個女子點了一個肉骨茶套餐。88大元,套餐連一杯野飲及一碟菜及一碗飯。是AUNTIE說看到雜誌介紹這間店,看起來好地道,又想吃那個叫"ROJARK" 囉喳類似咁讀既野!因為AUNTIE好識食新加坡菜,一路介紹這種小食,我也不知是甚麼,所以她特意帶我到這裡兩個人吃一個午餐。套餐加40蚊就可以試這個囉喳小食,加一碟炒蘿蔔糕,加兩串沙嗲串燒,我地選了豬。沙嗲醬好濃好味!這就是我們的一餐午飯,其實份量頗大,叫一個餐都夠兩個女仔食。不過口痕好想再叫野食,但原來佢地中午只有一張餐單,全部都係午市套餐。中午冇乜選擇。講番個肉骨茶,好好味,肉骨好有質感,好易撕開既肉,但食落又唔會太淋, 仲有油炸鬼可以放入肉骨茶!炒蘿蔔糕好香,一粒粒方型的,好易入口!菜就沒有特別。囉喳原來係生果加左一些醬料撈埋!好好味喎!AUNTIE話一定要有粉葛先可以算係正中。佢入面有粉葛,有青蘋果,仲有其他少量爽口既水果,加上豆"POT"撈埋一齊食真係好味道。可惜沒有機會叫小食,唯有下次等晚市再吃啦!

其實這個份量是挺多的,最起碼我們吃畢也非常之飽。食物不消 10 分鐘就來到了,先說海南雞飯,賣相不錯,應有的也一一俱全。還加多一個燉蛋,是內裡加有皮蛋的,不過個人覺得實在太膩了,味道幾重,感覺油膩,個人麻麻地喜歡。

另外雞肉其實就是感覺不太特別,沒有加錢要雞脾肉,但這個也不算太「鞋」口的。某幾件都幾滑身,雞味不算很濃但也是有的,眾多醬汁還是最愛黑醬油,這裡的稠度一般,反正不稀不「杰」就是了,味道夠甜,配雞肉不會難吃的。

相反我覺得飯是最好吃的! 飯粒乾身爽口,而且味道很夠,吃得到幾重南薑味。雞湯眼見還有生菜絲和豆腐,其實讓我選擇吃完濃味的飯我寧願要較清淡的,是日這個對我來說濃味了點點呢。

海鮮喇沙其實我只是淺嚐了一口,而且食左隻蝦 (XD),湯底望落是多料而且「杰」身的,飲落幾有椰香味,辣度一般,最起碼我不吃得辣也覺得可接受。吃了一隻蝦味道普通,口感稱不上爽口,吃不到什麼鮮味,另外反而覺得D米粉食落有點粗糙既感覺,朋友的總括就是沒什麼特別。

另外還有蘿蔔糕,這個是最遲來的,而且好像沒什麼客人點,大概是我太大食了吧! 不過其實我覺得這個不錯的,加了頗多蛋去炒,而且還有菜甫蝦米等,蘿蔔糕切得細細粒的,每一粒都食到蝦米,幾香。又是黑醬油所以吃下去甜口,不過朋友說覺得它的醬汁怪怪的,哈! 我覺得蘿蔔糕淋了點,如果煎得邊位脆脆的就非常好啦。

最後想說的是... 咖啡! 因為朋友說這裡的咖啡不錯,喝下去不酸又有幾濃咖啡香~~

吃畢還坐了一段時間慢慢聊天,其實環境都幾好的,窗外又可看到街景,內裡環境又不算太狹窄,雖然還是依舊的聽得很清楚隔離檯的對話,但也可接受啦。拜會少爺完畢,下次可以去另一間吃啦。多謝多謝 =))))

So I've never really been into Asian cuisine to begin with, but per my friends' recommendation, I accompanied them to this restaurant with an open mind. First impression was that the decor definitely caught my eye. The setting and mood of the restaurant managed to be classy without being snobbish, elegant, yet welcoming.

There was a line, though luckily, my friends knew to arrive early so the wait wasn't too long. As I said before, I have never been into Asian food, though for this particular restaurant, they can definitely expect my repeated business.

We kept it simple and stuck to the chicken rice, since supposedly that was what it's all about. We also shared some skewers and each had one of their unique drinks. I had the lime soda, which I would highly recommend, I love the taste of it. While it's not too sweet, but manages to be very refreshing.

As for the chicken rice set, I chicken and selection of sauces where all top notch, I especially enjoyed the rice, since in my past experience with this dish elsewhere, I have always found the rice too oily; though the way they make theirs was perfect for my pallet. I was perhaps most impressed by their soup, and was temped to order another pot on the side. It was amazing. The skewers were also good, not as memorable as the soup, though I can definitely see myself ordering it again upon my next visit.

All in all the restaurant really provided the full package. The food, atmosphere were all great. All that need to be improved is for me to start making reservations now for next time. It would be nice to be able to walk in anytime I want, but I'm glad they are doing so well. They deserve to.

呢個月唔知發左咩神經,係咁搵海南雞飯食。既翠華既整體OK質素後,星期六放左學行左一陣,正猶疑緊去唔去食呢個八十八蚊既時候,前面已經係五十人到啦。(冇誇張@@")唔知點解真係肯等一粒鐘入座啦,終於出現左個雞飯,以我既個人食法,當然係將所有既雞放入熱湯裡面,諗住食個菜啦,咦,凍既@@"個雞飯好精彩,肯定係用雞油而唔係雞湯煮既,而且食到個薑茸味,唔駛加錢食脾已經十分之滑,不過最後個湯,只不過菜絲湯,好似平凡左D。究竟用唔用一舊水兼等成粒鐘等呢個飯?真係見仁見智啦。
