唔知個櫥係咪暑期工? 咁既質素都可以拿黎賣, 送 "美味廚" 你一個 「服」字! 注意下出品啦唔該, 唔係要你好食, 「普通」水準己經 ok 啦, 辛苦晒.

p.s. 成餐發覺, 最好食既野居然係... 佢屈你一定要既前菜 - "鹹菜"! 真係講都無人信呀.

I had heard about their fried pork chop through friends in Hong Kong. Yet, strangely, fried pork chops aren’t even the part of Cantonese cuisine. I had heard about their fried pork chop through friends in Hong Kong. Yet, strangely, fried pork chops aren’t even the part of Cantonese cuisine. But when you travel to someplace, the locals will boast about the best non-local cuisine. For instance, my buddy Mr. B, raved about Sushi in LA, or when Mr. K, who insisted on this great Japanese restaurant in Seoul, and even Mr. F, who at times craves Cantonese in Shanghai. Perhaps it is because it is a treat for them to have something different when guests are in town.

The Delicious Kitchen had been on my short list of places to visit in Hong Kong. I had heard about this famous pork chop, which was something not to be missed. Thank goodness they were located near the busy shopping area of Causeway Bay. Since, soon after shopping around in the area, we needed to be fed – and Delicious Kitchen was the place.

After a short search for the little restaurant, we sat down and promptly ordered. We choose the set meal, which included the fried pork chop, hot & sour soup, bean curd with mushrooms, stir fried vegetables, steam rice, and a red bean pancake.

The deep fried pork chop, the star of the night, had a nice crust – not that think or thick, had a juicy texture with a sweet taste. The sweet flavor is to cater to the Cantonese preference, which I liked, similar to BBQ pork or char siu. I enjoyed the this pork chop as much as I have of any pork dish. I would rank it as one of the best I have ever had, which would include all types of pork from different fares in the US, Taiwan, and Japan.

But pork chops weren’t the only decent thing that night. The Three Kinds of Mushroom with Japanese Bean Curd, as it said word-for-word on the menu, was also pretty good. The bean curd, basically fried cubed soft tofu, had a jelly soft texture with mushrooms. This type of tofu is one of my favorites, and I don’t necessarily like tofu, anyways. The steam rice with vegetables, which isn’t typically Cantonese, which I think is more Teochow (Chaozhou), was also really good. i like when there are vegetables in the steamed rice. Kinda makes me feel healthy when I have it.

I think Delicious Kitchen, with the fried pork chop, is worth returning. The fast food decor and super cold A/C left nothing to be desired.

在加寧街的adi concept store血拼完,當然要到我至愛的食肆食返個排骨菜飯。對上一次來也差不多有一年光景,門面好像裝修過,細望下增添了不少時代感。坐下後我如常地点了我最愛的菜飯,而啤酒妹則點了一碟上海粗炒、一客椒鹽魷魚和一碟豆沙鍋餅。咁好胃口唔通有佐?最先送到嚟的是一客醒胃的酸菜。酸菜的酸甜度掌握得恰到好處,當堂喚醒了我那沈睡的胃,告訴牠已到了食飯的時候。接下送來的是我的排骨菜飯,排骨依舊是以往的鮮甜無比,菜飯也是一樣的香滑軟熟。菜飯食到一半,啤酒妹的上海粗炒和椒鹽魷魚也到了,粗炒略嫌多油但味道也不錯。鮮魷則嫌份量太少。臨走時我的蟹皇羹才來到(我差點忘了)值得一提的是這裡多了很多外來的顧客(說的是蒼蠅),我其實不是太介意,反而覺得多了一種原始風味,但可不是所有的顧客也像我一樣豁達,店主可要多家留意呵!

臨走時我的蟹皇羹才來到(我差點忘了)

值得一提的是這裡多了很多外來的顧客(說的是蒼蠅),我其實不是太介意,反而覺得多了一種原始風味,但可不是所有的顧客也像我一樣豁達,店主可要多家留意呵!

早前透過團購網站買入了兩張恒隆集團商場其下特選食肆的優惠券,其中一張已於上星期五在加寧街的「喜喜冰室」使用了,而餘下的一張,早已盤算到冰廳對面的「美味厨」吃那個被受好評的排骨菜飯,所以隔了不到一星期,又拉着老公來這間以上海菜為主打的小館吃午飯。我倆約於下午一時四十五分到達,店內顧客仍坐得滿滿的,探頭往內看,原來這店子又真的非常細小,座位數目大約四、五十個左右,而且內裡以木製的檯、凳全排得密密麻麻,檯與檯之間的通道非常狹窄,加上木凳全沒有靠背,單以環境來說,絕對稱不上寬敞舒適,幸好我們被安排坐在靠牆的一張二人檯,總算自成一角。整頓一會後,我倆便翻閱餐牌,其實我心中早有目標,當然包括我想試的排骨菜飯和擔擔麵,另外看見菜牌上有老公愛吃的煎蠔餅,又點了一份給他。先講講個排骨菜飯 ($45),這菜飯是一份午市特餐,除了碗排骨飯外,還可於大豆芽、芹菜干絲、拌粉皮、咖啡、奶茶、凍豆漿,六款小食或飲品中,任選一款作配搭,而且揀這個全包餐是免茶、免加一的。如果吃特餐以外的其它食物,茶錢則每位 $1, 另收加一服務費。其實這個滬式炸排骨,基本上與吃炸豬排分別不大,最吸引的是排骨外皮炸得色澤金黃,面頭還泛着

先講講個排骨菜飯 ($45),這菜飯是一份午市特餐,除了碗排骨飯外,還可於大豆芽、芹菜干絲、拌粉皮、咖啡、奶茶、凍豆漿,六款小食或飲品中,任選一款作配搭,而且揀這個全包餐是免茶、免加一的。如果吃特餐以外的其它食物,茶錢則每位 $1, 另收加一服務費。其實這個滬式炸排骨,基本上與吃炸豬排分別不大,最吸引的是排骨外皮炸得色澤金黃,面頭還泛着一層油光。輕輕咬啖排骨,肉質炸得頗為鬆軟酥香,雖然肉汁唔算豐富,但也絕不柴皮。至於味道方面,由於豬扒是加上了蜜糖的,所以入口既香甜又惹味,很不錯。下層的菜飯,原來比排骨更出色,據說這裡的菜飯是以雞油加大白菜粒煮近四小時才上桌的,侍者把碗飯放上檯時熱辣辣的,白菜翠綠爽口,飯粒還透著菜香,加埋炸得甘香鬆化的豬扒,簡直美味得令人舔舔脷。

跟餐的配搭,老公選了這個伴以麻醬及青瓜製作的粉皮,這個冷盤小吃,好處是清爽而不油膩,青瓜雖然唔多,但都算切得幼細,粉皮未至於又薄又透明,不過也相當滑溜彈牙,配上我喜愛的麻醬,香味撲鼻而來,簡直令人食指大動,值得推介。

擔擔麵 ($28) 這裡的擔擔麵,麵條做得幼滑,爽口彈牙,頗有嚼勁,而且花生香味撲鼻,醬汁味道香濃,十分不錯。雖然對我來說,其濃濃的醬汁,令碗麵辛辣程度有點過火,但學何超儀話齋,我頂得住,而且整體味道非純粹的勁辣,而是麻辣相交,酥燙中有着濃濃香氣,令人吃得分外開胃!

潮式煎蠔餅 ($38) 這裡的煎蠔餅與慣常見的有點不同,蠔餅放上檯時,原來厨子已把蠔餅切開一份份,好似 pizza 一樣。潮式的蠔餅是加入了番薯粉,所以口感本應較為軟糯,可惜這份蠔餅只得個「脆」字,煎得恍如一塊薄餅,飽實金黃,惜口感較薄,由於過份亁身,欠了蕃薯粉那種獨特的香味。蠔仔方面,細粒得來份量又極少,無蠔仔的鮮香。其實好吃的潮州蠔餅,應該外貌自然一點,鬆鬆散散般,吃起來又酥又香,這樣才地道嘛。

荳沙鍋餅 ($20) 我喜歡吃荳沙鍋餅,但真正好吃的,並不如想像中易找。好吃的豆沙鍋餅,要外皮酥脆,餡心細膩,香甜嫩軟。至於這裡的荳沙鍋餅,外表望落去雖然有點煎得過火,但金黃色的外皮,入口十分香脆,而且油份控制一流,吃來沒半點油膩感。內裡豆沙甜而不漏,只是稍嫌分佈不均,一邊多一邊少,整體味道尚算令人滿意,而且這份甜品是即叫即做的,放上檯時仍辣得燙口,加上只需 $20,絕對超值。

聽聞此店在銅鑼灣區已屹立超過二十多年,雖然門面低調,店內裝修亦欠奉,但環境總算明亮,加上菜式實而不華,也不失為一個開飯的好地方。是次結賬連加一,合共 $139.60,由於先前以 $29 購買了一張價值 $100的現金券,所以只需補回差額 $40 便可離座,老公的評語是與上次去「喜喜冰室」一樣,「吃得好爽」。

香炸豬大腸:豬大腸炸至表層橙紅色,內裡呈半透明乳白,無灰黑暗啞,賣相吸引。豬大腸入口非常香脆,帶著獨有的油香,雖有點膩,但並無半點羶臭,以另附的甜酸醬蘸吃,確是一流。

椒鹽雞軟骨:雞軟骨外層的粉漿略略過厚,但炸得算是鬆化,外脆內軟,加上調味的椒鹽恰到好處,可口得來也惹味。
韮黃炒鱔糊:黃鱔比一般鱔糊切得大片,但份量相對較少,尤其在充足的韮黃上。鱔糊炒得嫩滑而有咬口,其中鮮味亦沒有被重味的醬汁蓋去,不錯。

水煮鮮魚片:用上特大圓碗上檯,但魚片只有數片,其餘只是墊底的水煮材料及異常多的粉皮。魚片新鮮嫩滑,但水煮的汁料無論香味與辣味均欠奉,就算單吃已浸得變了色的芽菜及粉皮也不外如是,完全沒有應有的風味,比一般辣酒煮的還不及;而且價錢並不便宜,有點物非所值吧。

菜肉雲吞:雲吞裡菜與肉的比例適中,味道也不錯,但雲吞皮較厚,加上湯底過於濃郁,吃後還有點口渴哩。


整體食物的味道不錯,尤其是作為招牌菜的排骨菜飯,雖然已經不復以往那般出色,但質素和味道仍然十分可取,難怪這裡無論何時也人山人海。

Isn't it a miracle that 美味廚 (Delicious Kitchen) has survived on a street when many others have failed, and they've been selling exactly the same food for so many years ! It was probably there even before I was born! Anyway its always good to revisit something you've been eating since a rebellious kid and dearly miss. Can the food still stand up against the up and coming competitions? Has my palate evolved over the years or the food quality become worse or better? I was too keen to rev

I was too keen to revisit here and rather than postulating about things in my head, hopefully can settle my lingering doubts once and for all !

DAN DAN MEIN NOODLES -
For some unknown reason, a lot of the Shanghainese or Hong Kong-nised 担担麵 use a lot of Peanut based 'soup', rather than having a less watery, thicker Sesame paste for mixing with the noodles. Here, it suffers the same problem much like its branched out sibbling 順豐排骨麵(天后), as the soup is more Peanutty than Sesame like. In fact I've checked with the owners of both shops to confirm yes they use a 芝麻花生醬, but in 順豐排骨麵 the lady said they use mostly peanut sauce. (http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=40507)

Anyway if you like a peanutty soup, this one is better than 順豐's version, and it has slightly more sesame paste taste. The noodles are cooked well. There's no meat however, you get a stack of chopped up pickles, peanuts and dried shrimps on top, which is pretty good. 3.5/5

PORK CHOP -
This one I got on this occasion was quite thick, whereas on other days its much thinner. It has a sugary and gingery coating, in fact it was too gingery and spoiled the overall balance. The pork was tasteless, oily. Some pieces were too artificially softened, but other parts took some teeth tearing action. I didn't think 順豐's was very good either, but if I have to choose, I would pick that over 美味廚's version. 3/5

SOY MILK -
Pretty good. Sweet, has some soy taste, it hasn't been exactly fine filtered either so you get a gritty mouthfeel as you drink it. 4/5

OVERALL, AN EDIBLE SHOP BUT NO LONGER AN CLASS ACT, CONSIDERING IT HAD ONCE OCCUPIED A TOP SPOT INSIDE MY HEAD FOR THIS TYPE OF FOOD. I STILL THINK THEY MAKE ONE OF THE BETTER VEGGIES RICE (菜飯) THOUGH?

Delicious Kitchen sits in the middle of Cleveland St, next to the relatively new (from 2009?) ramen shop, noticeable with the queue outside on a typical Saturday night. I asked for a party of 3 and waited for about 15 minutes. Delicious Kitchen sits in the middle of Cleveland St, next to the relatively new (from 2009?) ramen shop, noticeable with the queue outside on a typical Saturday night. I asked for a party of 3 and waited for about 15 minutes. Come with your entire crew if possible, because you will be asked to wait for the next available table if there are people absent.

The dining area is very small, with traditional style wooden tables and stools (like in wonton shops). Delivery is a good alternative.

Ordered the following for a party of 3:

1. Smoked fish 燻魚 with vegetable rice 菜飯 ($38)

Their smoked fish is different from that in many other restaurants because their sauce is unusually thick - but in a good way - great to pair with white rice. The fish is quite big and substantial enough for one person.

菜飯 was a big disappointing because it was made with jasmine rice, not the authentic short grain pearl rice. Not overly oily but it wasn't particularly fragrant. Even the 菜飯 from Cafe De Coral was (I don't know if it's on their menu any more?) better!!!

2. Vegetarian chicken ($27)
Ordered this only because I thought it was vegetarian goose, the dish of tofu skin stuffed with julienned carrots, mushroom, fungus etc. My own fault for not knowing that vegetarian chicken is only a heap of rolled tofu skin, sans filling! The taste was mild but nevertheless passable.

3. Deep fried sweet and sour fish with pine nuts ($68)
Battered skin was not too thick, just enough, and coating was crisp. Fish flesh was flaky and soft. Garnished with shrimp and diced sea cucumber, and lots of onions, bell peppers, pine nuts and pineapple. While this is not the best pine nut fish I've had, it is impressive given its price. Definitely worth a try.

4. Scrambled egg white with crabmeat ($58)
Served with a raw egg, but my finicky dining partner completely ignored it. Especilaly commendable is that it was not greasy at all, yet the egg whites are scrambled well and separate like it ought to! With little morsels of crabmeat.

5 Rice cakes stir fried with three meats ($48)
Rice cakes are non-uniformly handcut. The dish was a bit small but the portion of meats was not meagre. So called "three meats" consist of previously frozen peeled shrimp, sliced ham (ie. the ones you find in the sausage aisle in supermarkets) and shredded chicken. Tossed with bamboo shoots, canned mushrooms, bok choy. It's a " dry fry", flavor is just right, not too salty and fresh. It wins points for the pan-fried, not just straight-from-the-package ham!

6. Pork and vegetable wontons ($38)
By the looks of it, the wontons are fresh wrapped, with a good proportion of filling; the pork was soft and laced with lots of chopped vegetables, yet stays perfectly intact without fluffing into atoms! Broth was not too salty, just good enough to lend the wonton skins a little flavor.

I think this is Hong Kong style Shanghainese, because the dishes are mostly Shanghainese food, but without the grease and at times heavy seasoning and sesame oil. Another reason is because the menu items are quite typical in Shanghainese restaurants in Hong Kong.

A convenient dinner spot in Causeway Bay if you don't mind the wait and not-too-comofortable seating. Definitely recommended for its service and value-for-money.

在銅鑼灣不知吃什麼,最後選了好久沒吃的美味廚。餐的選擇好像越來越多呢,魚翅什麼的不叫了,叫了粟米湯可以讓小朋友喝嘛。叫了2個2人餐,豬排我沒有吃,但吃了菜飯,湯也似乎是下太多了吧?還是沒有弄好就拿出來?倒是適合小朋友來吃囉。還有就是玉子豆腐也是小朋友的菜式,正常味道,不過有點太油。出奇的是牛根很入味,很好吃,估不到呢!炒通菜是意想不到的大碟,味道也可以,大概菜是不太老的關係吧!最後的豆沙窩餅也可以,熱烘烘的,我是收貨了。面門是改善了,價錢沒有變太貴,但..主打的菜飯弄成那樣還真的可惜叱。

响食街既美味厨己開業超過15年,有段時時間招牌排骨因質素下降無繼續幫襯,事隔多年,今次再去試下: 紅燒牛筋麵:牛筋炆得剛好,唔會太 "淋" 或太硬,有口感,亦保持原有黏性,天然骨膠原喎,女性恩物! 豆漿:味道OK,唔算太甜! 酸辣湯 + 排骨菜飯套餐:- 酸辣湯:味夠酸辣,料足!- 排骨菜飯:唔可以話佢差,排骨質素確實比前段時期提升左,但無論食味及鬆軟度都未返最佳狀態既水平。10幾年前一咬落件排骨度,感覺異常鬆軟,加上佢係比較厚身,食落不但有口感,仲有好香既薑葱味,令人難忘!記得當時仲係舊裝修,厨房响門口左手邊,但對街窗口被貼上一層白色膠紙,阻隔客人從門口玻璃直望厨房。但我會响等位既時間用單腳企响牆身好幼既石膊,再用手摸住玻璃平衡,眼晴便可越過白膠紙高度睇下師傅煮食既情況,有一次真係見到師傅一絲不苟將豬排揼鬆。註:食物質素有變,但侍應們仍然嘈吵,無論為客人放食具或內部溝通,果然十年如一日不變。

一向都相信「一分錢.一分貨」的道理,亦明白要吃好的相對都要俾多d。是日在cwb, 逛街逛得餓餓地見到這間3-5:30全單8折便入了一坐低d呀姐就急不及待叫你落order…仲要d態度串串貢, 我已經好不滿!點了一個拍青瓜和一個擔擔麵擔擔麵先來, 拍青瓜是小吃, 竟然唔催都唔黎!!!真係想走!再吃下…拍青瓜好細碟, 仲要用左好重味精.擔擔麵又唔辣又冇花生味…!好難食!!!我食唔到1/2碗就放棄左…咁既價錢咁既服務質素俾d咁既野我食…!?我以後都會blacklist你!

I've been eating at this place since I was a kid. It's certainly been around for more than 20 years. The honey glazed pork chop pak-choy-rice is still as awesome as ever. If I don't order a second bowl, I usually get their stir-fry rice cake, which is full of flavor, especially the mushrooms they put it in. it's a little same and very typical Hongkong-style eateries.When I have my friends in town, I often take them there. Service is quite nice but I wouldnt bring someone there if you are looking

和女友來到老銅附近,吃得隨便一點,就到美味廚吃一客排骨菜飯吧,當然一客菜飯填飽不了兩個胃,所以在研究完餐牌後,最後決定點了一個連湯及排骨菜飯的特惠套餐,另加一客燻魚湯麵,相信都會夠吃的。先來一碗酸辣湯刺激一下大家的食慾,以湯碗盛着的也挺大碗,先用鼻子嗅一嗅,沒有黑醋的香味,心已感不妙,再用匙羹舀一下,酸辣湯很黏稠,是很明顯下了太多生粉茨的感覺,加上真的一點醋香也沒有,比在王家沙的更差,材料也是慣常的有豬紅、肉絲、豆腐條及木耳絲等,而且萬料不到的是竟然有海蔘,但就沒有筍絲,料是豐富的,但感覺有點奇怪。也很有的有飯及麵吃了,先談作為亮點的排骨菜飯,排骨看吃起來根本與豬扒沒什麼分別,一整塊的覆蓋在菜飯面,果然夾起來看,真的跟一塊豬扒沒兩樣,豬扒味道跟之前在順豐吃到的一模一樣,也是在鹹中帶點甜,有點蜜糖的味道,而外層又是一樣的脆,但肉質就沒有那麼鬆化,口感較實,要比這裡好的豬扒,真的是吃地踎茶記也有可能比它好,而菜飯是有丁點油香的,但菜實在是太少,且也太霉了吧,阿媽煮的好多了。可能是對燻魚湯麵沒什麼期望吧,所以也沒有失望,燻魚及湯麵分開上,麵是不錯的上海陽春麵,但湯跟麵也沒有什麼味道,所以真的

價錢也要百多元,不是至於不好吃,也不是很貴,但要專程為它的排骨之來,可不必了,聽聞之前結業了的順豐排骨麵在同區重開,一於找天和女友去回味一下。

今晚去咗”美味廚”食, 我地以前經常去食咖, 不過佢d質數時好時壞。次次都要食佢個A餐, 紅燒雞絲翅配排骨菜飯 (必食推介)。今次我地叫咗2個A 餐配排骨菜飯, 另叫個蝦仁炒麵。個A餐就梗好食啦, 個紅燒雞絲翅加醋好好食。排骨菜飯d排骨好食, 多肉, d飯都幾大碗。蝦仁炒麵得4隻蝦(我記得之前好似多d咖), 仲有d麵唔入味囉…..下次就唔洗再食呢個麵了。其實都一般貴咖, 因為佢收茶$ & 酸菜$, 所以我地3個人都食咗$230咖。環境都係一般咋, 服務都係一般咋。

先來了個花旗參竹絲雞湯&蟹肉瑤柱羹, 花旗參竹絲雞湯飲出每啖都好濃甘甜的花旗參味, 那個蟹肉瑤柱羹, 真是啖啖都有瑤柱, 又不會太鹹, 蟹味就一般, 之後主打菜的排骨菜飯終於送上, 外表色澤金香, 不過只有點少少脆, 可能已炸好放了一會兒, 味道帶甜, 食落都好鬆化的, 份量又大, 可惜菜飯油膩了一點, 而燻魚菜飯的魚好甜, 炸的關係食落都好油膩, 魚骨比較多, 都要好小心食!!

之後好想食番個豆沙鍋餅$20---剛炸起, 豆沙饀的份量剛好, 外表炸得金黃色,又夠脆!!

連加一服務費大約兩百元, 整體上比我幾年食的差了少少, 因為食物太甜和太多油!
