Still needing to book 2-3 month to eat at Jean May, I wanted to see what the fuss was about although photos of the food looked off to me. Often you can tell if a chef is good by the plating, not for pretentious photos but it shows how detailed the chef is as a person. I ordered the duck and strawberry pavlova. I ordered the duck and strawberry pavlova. The duck was too salty and nothing special - not sure what people rave about. Costing $3xx, I truly enjoy eating Peking duck more than the duck here.
I thought the dessert could redeem the restaurant’s reputation but it was also a let down. Average at best. The pavlova was more like a meringue rather than proper pavlova. It was not chewy in the inside as it should be.
Would not come again.
