I was going to bring my wife out for dinner tonight and based on my friend's recommendations, I chose Oggi this time round. It was a Western restaurant serving mainly seafood items and wine etc. It was located at Mercury Street, around 10 minutes walk from Fortress Hill MTR.They offered a wide range of options for their dinner, such as ala carte menu, dinner set and special dinner set etc. We chose special dinner set which consisted of appetizer, soup, main course, dessert and coffee or tea. They offered a wide range of options for their dinner, such as ala carte menu, dinner set and special dinner set etc. We chose special dinner set which consisted of appetizer, soup, main course, dessert and coffee or tea. It was reasonably priced at $268, considering the soup and main course was lobster meal.
Shortly after we have ordered, the waitress served us bread. The bread was soft and moistful, crispy at the edges. It goes well with the butter provided.
Sea urchin with shoyu - Sea urchin was placed on top of the jelly, which was poured with Japanese soy sauce. Jelly was soft and smooth, and complimented well with the sea urchin, which was creamy and buttery.
Lobster bisque - Lobster soup was given separately in a cup for us to pour ourselves. When we poured the soup into the bowl, the foam started to mix together with the soup, making it more creamy and smooth. Lobster soup was rich and flavourful, with strong lobster taste. Lobster meat was chewy as well.
Risotto with lobster in crab cream sauce - The chef was quite generous with the portion of the lobster meat. Risotto was chewy, not too overly soft. It was flavourful, as it has absorbed the essence of the crab sauce. Lobster was chewy and juicy as well, able to taste the freshness.
I ordered a glass of iced lemon tea and sugar syrup was given separately for us to pour. It was sweet and sour. Dessert was pomelo with jelly. It was sweet and sour as well, with the jelly chewy and smooth.
