As a food lover living in HK, I would be mortified if anyone went here when there are so many wonderful options nearby. The list of negatives is long, but here's a summary:- The oysters are very expensive and for some reason extremely salty. I almost wonder if they are adding salt after shucking them- The house wine is expensive and bad. About $250 hkd a bottle and you would do better in a 7-11. If you take your own they charge $200hkd corkage per bottle. - As for the rest of the food... Forget

The list of negatives is long, but here's a summary:

- The oysters are very expensive and for some reason extremely salty. I almost wonder if they are adding salt after shucking them
- The house wine is expensive and bad. About $250 hkd a bottle and you would do better in a 7-11. If you take your own they charge $200hkd corkage per bottle.
- As for the rest of the food... Forget it. Steak was fatty, poorly cooked and had no flavor. No sauces or seasoning are offered. Sausages were out of a packet. Pasta is ok but very unexceptional. Prawn was well... there was only one on the plate so I didn't get a chance to try it!
- Actually it's more of a BBQ than a restaurant. They call the dishes 'mains' but actually it's just meat. No veggies, rice, bread or anything else is available.
- The restaurant does not have any toilets. They send you two floors up into the adjacent shopping mall.

In the end a group of 10 of us spent 600 hkd each. Yes it was over 6000 hkd! And we left hungry. For that amount of money... Well enough said.

To be fair, environment sitting outside was nice. Though you are sandwiched between two buildings.

In summary, it's a scam. They try to present themselves as a fancy oyster bar but in reality it's way overpriced and has terrible food. If you want oysters, there are so many other better choices. Please don't try this one...

是日我和朋友來慶祝生日﹐我們點了生蠔﹐幾支白酒及紅酒﹐另外還有牛扒 & 豬扒﹐埋單5-6千﹐平均消費每人約900蚊﹐價錢算合理。食物方面﹐白酒幾好﹐配生蠔同食一流。牛扒也做得唔錯﹐雖然200幾蚊一碟﹐但做的生熟適中﹐有肉汁﹐朋友們都很喜歡﹐雖然有幾塊幾乎成件都係肥肉。豬扒﹐坦白講有肉汁﹐唔鞋﹐不過我還是覺得豬扒熟DD好﹐太生唔係甘衛生﹐切開有血水﹐感覺麻麻地﹐最後的1/3豬扒﹐我地唔感食。蠔﹐開頭都OK﹐其中兩隻仲幾鮮甜﹐另外4只就得咸味﹐唔多覺得鮮 & 甜羅﹐ 不過最令人吃驚的是﹕去到coffen bay的時候﹐我發覺我手上的蠔好無新鮮﹐勉強吃一口後﹐真的受不了吐了出來。這個時候侍應來收碟﹐我忽然發覺我碟上的紅色物體會動﹐是。。一條紅色的蟲﹐大約半只尾指的長度﹐我當場嚇呆了﹐同臺的友人都看呆了﹐我朋友立刻出去問點解﹐鋪頭D人話呢D係正常噢﹐而那個醒目的侍應在我還來不及反應的情況下已經清理的那條紅色的的蟲。這樣是正常的嗎?? 我想我再也不會再來這個店吃飯啦

I had initially read good reviews about this place and saw that the selection of oysters was great.
Well, I booked a table a few days in advance as I was not sure of how full this place would be. When we were seated it took at least 30 minutes before the servers came to our attention.
When we finally got his attention, we ordered a bottle of wine and it took AGES to arrive. After chatting for a bit we ordered our main courses and approximately 26 oysters.

Guess what?...

Our food took 2 hours to arrive, this is not a joke. 2.5 hours! The oysters came after the 1st hour and the main courses came 2 hours later. As I said before, we ordered 26 oysters. You would at least expect the oysters to come at around 12 or more pieces at a time, but not at this place. The way they serve it is so random. They bring 5 and then you wait another 10 minutes then another 5 come, then another 30 minutes then some come and etc...

Besides, the oysters were super salty like they added salt to it or something to enhance the flavor.

Then, the maincourse. We were four people, three of us had ribeye steak and another had seafood risotto. Wow, that risotto could have been made better by the Ikea canteen. It was luke warm when it arrived and did not come with the other main courses, the others came one by one too! The first steak came, and then at least another 20 minutes for the other two to arrive. Talk about starving!

I would not recommend this place to those who want to eat main courses, the food isn't great. If you like salted oysters and waiting for 2 or more hours to get your food then... yeah, you get the point.

Our total bill was around 2000. (500 p head) - not worth it for this place.

P.S When I asked our waiter where our food was and to hurry up, he replied by saying that there were loads of people there, FYI this restaurant isn't that big and it wasnt full. He was making excuses. If you cant manage a full house then DONT open a restaurant, whats the point of putting chairs there in the first place????

(1) Taylor Pacific (珍寶SIZE...入口好有滿足感...因為好甜都一D都唔咸)
(2) Tasmanian (我朋友比較喜歡這個咪...但我覺得比較咸)
(3) South African ( 我比較喜歡LEE隻..蠔味重)
(4) Irish Premium (都不差..味道最濃..係好味..但我朋友不太喜歡)

廚房內,廚師為我們準備卡邦拿意粉及白酒煮青口等熱食,同時亦即場表演其燒烤功夫。一塊又一塊18安士美國安格斯肉眼扒,一隻又一隻的九吋虎蝦,都給我們看到老闆熟練的技巧。肉眼扒油脂分佈平均,肉質較軟腍,肉味亦豐厚。虎蝦燒得僅熟不乾身,爽口彈牙,鮮味十足。燒黑豚肉也是這晚的亮點,肉質結實爽口,脂肪不多,非常好吃。

The environment is a quaint restaurant in TST, in the midst of the hustling and bustling city centre, it's rare to find such a quiet venue OUTDOORS!

The oysters have always been fresh, service is so personal that after going there for about two times, the waitress knew me by name! Unbelievable!
The cooked oysters are just as great as the raw oysters. Grilled in house and on the spot. (Takes a little time but oh my, worth the wait!) Other than the cooked oysters, their regular menu is just as good. The friendly chef would always come out to chat and learned that he got his skills from none other than Cordon Bleu. Wow.. small restaurant but high calibre people! The steak is a MUST!

They also have a great deal on wines too... so be prepared to drink and eat lots! We spent around$300-400 per person including wines.. pretty decent for their quality of food. This must be my favorite restaurant!

The only thing I got to say is that if you are in a hurry, this wouldn't be a good choice. I usually spend the whole evening here.. don't make plans to go anywhere after.. you will most probably end up cancelling.

OPEN OYSTER ruined my evening!Having recommended by friends and checked out your restaurant on open rice, I decided to try this restaurant out on Saturday 9th Oct 2010 but it was a complete nightmare and a total disaster.It was 9pm when I arrived and the place was NOT busy with only 1 table of 2 outside at the outdoor seating area and 2 tables of 2 seating inside the restaurant. OPEN OYSTER ruined my evening!
Having recommended by friends and checked out your restaurant on open rice

, I decided to try this restaurant out on Saturday 9th Oct 2010 but it was a complete nightmare and a total disaster

It was 9pm when I arrived and the place was NOT busy with only 1 table of 2 outside at the outdoor seating area and 2 tables of 2 seating inside the restaurant. There were 3 cooks, 2 waiters and a waitress on duty. I was approach by a nice English speaking waiter (local born Asian) explaining to me what is good on the menu
. They operate a system that if you order wine or beer from them your oysters will be cheaper. I had a bottle of white wine that I like with me and I asked the waiter whether they charge corkage and he said they charge HK$200 per bottle but if I order drinks from them then the corkage could be waived

I therefore took a seat outside while waiting for my friend to arrive and enjoyed 2 bottle of beers ordered from the waiter. I ask the waiter to chill my bottle of wine with an ice bucket and bring 2 white wine glasses but I have to wait 15 minutes before he can find the right bucket (first one was leaking!) and the glasses arrived with lips stick on it

! He went away and tries to clean it with a dry tissue which only made the situation worse. I had to ask him to wash it again before I can enjoy my wine

Once my friend arrived we proceed to order the food which I will explain as how I was disappointed with your restaurant.
Oysters
We ordered Pacific, Irish Rock, Ancelin, Belon 0000 and cherrystone. The oyster was OK and fresh but the Cherrystone Clams and Belon 0000 were very small and for the price they charged it was not acceptable. When I comment it to the Manageress (Appeared in the Restaurant at around 9.30pm) she said because the 2 items is still not in season yet!

I wonder why they bother offering it to their clients if it is not at its best! 14 oysters we had all together and it was not a good start of the evening

I had to open and pour my own wine, no service at all!


Main Course
We ordered the Angus rib eye (HK$185) and I asked for medium but the Manageress recommended it to be cooking Medium- rare to enjoy its best. I opt for her suggestion and I also order a piece of lamb rack (HK$38), a side salad (HK$48), a pasta with bacon, mushroom and cream (HK$68). While waiting I saw my steak being cooked by a waitress although the cook was behind her “coaching”

. The steak arrived and it was cooked medium-well done. The steak was tough and chewy so we did not finish it and give the benefit of the doubt to ourselves by not wanting them to cook another piece since it could be done by somebody else other than the cook!

I continue to pour my own wine and try to enjoy myself

. The Lamb rack was Ok with nothing special and when the pasta arrives the portion was so small and it really looks like a side dish! The side salad arrived tossed with olive oil and vinegar and when we ask for extra oil and vinegar it was not available

!
We decided to STOP and ask for the bill and the Manageress kindly offered us coffee on the house which was good of her. However, when I try to settle my bill I was charged for bread which nobody said it will cost me HK$22 a portion and I was also charge HK$200- corkage



. My bill came to HK$1198- and the Manageress said everyone would be charged corkage and no exception will be made. I was most disappointed but all the staff was gone without anyone to refer to and it only shows how cheeky your people can be in the restaurant trade

The overall experience is NOT good and my option is that nowadays in HK, food commodities prices are no secret to consumers. If one wants to make a decent profit out of running a restaurant, they have to do a lot more than just opening a few oysters and charge people 2/3 times on top of the wholesale price.
All in all OPEN OYSTER can be sum up as a small place with a section of food sold at a lower than market price to attract customer to go in, then by giving SMALL portion and charge everything on the table as extra to make their money. By judging at the amount of business you had last night you need to do a lot of hard work to polish up their amateurish service, unethical management and unprofessional staff attitude

之後再encore Ancelin & 試Gillardeau 及Pousse En Claire,其實都差唔多,都唔算係味道好strong o既oyster,但勝在夠清甜.再加多兩隻cherrystone,亦都係我至愛...

到main course,其實都已經飽飽地,食左個angus ribeye in medium,生熟程度岩岩好,不過我唔鐘意有sauce,好在個sauce d味唔係咁強,所以都ok,友人好鐘意食,激讚!另再叫左兩件羊架,係出面即場燒,不過唔OK,細件得滯,而且overdone,唔值得試.

最後飲埋個周打海鮮湯,係好足料,不過我嫌佢”杰”得滯,而且淡口d.

另外,值得一提O既係佢有wine’s lover o既offer,如果飲wine,食蠔會平好多

總結,生蠔確係多款抵食,但main course如果有d side dishes好d,成隻碟乜都冇得塊扒好寡,而且冇乜小食款式,通常d人黎食生蠔飲下酒,有d小食送下好d. 仲有最重要一樣野,冷氣強烈要求增強,唔係真未食都先扣3分呀...

有兩個女侍應; 一個生手 ( 鬼妹仔 ) 一個熟手 ( 香港人 ) 感覺細心 , 舒服同專業. 因當日都 full 晒, 所以都冇咩時間理我哋, 但當我有哋有咩要求都會即時處理. 俾人感覺到佢係好有心去做每一件事. ( 呢種感覺好耐都冇見到 )
呢間餐廳一定一定會再去食

再一次光臨呢開鋪,因為老公同媽咪都鍾意食蠔,所以嚟呢度預早慶祝母親節!佢地的蠔真係好抵食,飲酒就有優惠價!佢地話兩位開一支酒就 OK!......Hehee,飲酒對於我同老公嚟講,梗係 No problem la!雖然媽咪唔飲酒,但我地五個都飲咗三支!Cova Chestnut Cream Cake:Hehee!都讚吓啦!好soft 好好味!因為佢地唔夠位放蛋糕,我又驚溶,所以食先!(佢地收切餅費,所以我地就喺個盒度切,跟住一人义啲仲過隱!)Oyster :我地食咗六款,每款都好新鮮!....可惜我唔記得影 Belon 呀!Grill Prawn:阿妹係 "蝦怪",所以兩款都有叫,so 正正正!Mussels:好鍾意個 Cream Sauce,好少食到咁嫩嘅青口,讚!Grill Lamb Rack:有羊味但唔so,啲肉好嫩滑!Angus Rib Eye:個medium 恰到好處,啱晒我鍾意少少血,又啱媽咪唔要太生,又好有牛味!好滿意又好滿足嘅一餐,食物好,服務員好Friendly,好有心嘅一間餐廳!加油!

店小,約有10個位子,另有3、4張檯作露天座位,夜晚來,幽靜伴上涼風,是個很好聊天的地方。主打生蠔,約十款,日本澳洲法國美國愛爾蘭...... 款式大路,勝在大部份均天天返貨。店內另有cherrystone冷盤、牛扒意粉等主菜。其他沒試過,不論;單是蠔,即叫即開,新鮮;吃了其中4款(共8隻),最難忘是Belon,銅味突出、厚出,吃到鮮爽,aftertaste強烈,叫回味,4個窿才賣$48隻,抵到沒話說。店主連店員共4人,事事親力親為,健談,亦好招呼,愛他們細心介紹蠔種、食法次序,開了白酒嚐過不合味又樂意更換,難得有心。

總括而言~坊間少有咁抵食既生蠔店~
無奈太少人幫襯~

之前行經尖東, 見到這店新開張. 櫥窗有好多生蠔, 雖然我對生蠔吾太喜好, 但其他朋友就好興奮, 猛話價錢好抵.....所以今晚我地就去試下..........坐低店員就為我們介紹有咩酒飲, 原來有好多款白酒都係餐牌度無列明....所以記住叫佢地介紹下啊....... 如果無特別喜好既話, 佢地既 house wine 都吾錯架. 我地叫左白酒又有啤酒. 首先點了些生蠔. 好新鮮. 各款都好味. 佢地吾止有蠔, 仲有蜆添. 都一樣咁新鮮. 價錢真係比其他店平. 但品質相當不錯. 之後我地點了些熟食. 有安格斯肉眼扒, 龍脷魚柳, 意粉. 特別要推介個肉眼扒, 又香又有肉味. 魚同意粉都不錯. 店員服務非常好, 很有禮貌. 亦會細心的為客人介紹各款食物. 無論坐入面定係出面都很舒適. 這樣的價錢可以享受到這樣高質素的美食, 我們一定會再來這店啊.
