“Pappardelle” 是一種義大利麵的名稱, 在香港可能比較少見, 就像一條 粗粗的長絲帶。 餐廳大廚 親自手製的papparadelle, 非常煙韌, 質感特別,不是一般機制意粉能夠媲美。 配上蕃茄野豬肉醬汁, 酸酸甜甜 更能突顯意粉的美味。

完美的晚餐當然少不了甜品, 意大利奶凍, 奶味香濃 質感幼滑如絲, 配上獨特的醬汁, 更清新refreshing😋😋

After Saturday night drinks on High Street, my girlfriend and I were craving some hearty authentic italian food. We stumbled across Trattoria Caffe Monteverdi and were immediately captivated by the traditional homely decor. .As we browsed through the menu the waitress served us warm bread and also explained the specials of the day. .For starters we had the sicilian caponata which was a good warm dish of eggplants, celery and other vegetables. For primi we opted for a special of the day - the angel hair with duck ragu. Instead of the traditional beef ragu, a duck ragu brings a more sophisticated aroma and adds a rustic touch to the dish. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente and was the best companion to the salivating ragu sauce. I can only say I hope this one makes it to the regular menu.

For secondi we had the pan fried pork chop in Tuscan style which was a signature dish of the restaurant. It did not disappoint. The inch thick pork chop was wonderfully pan fried and was succulent and juicy on the inside. The accompanying heirloom tomatoes, beans and cauliflower makes the dish visually pleasing as well.

To top it all off we had the zuccotto for dessert. It was a creamy and delightful sponge cake filled with chocolate ganache and cream. It was light and just the right amount of sweetness to complete an authentic Tuscan meal.

首先,我們吃了西西里的雜菜料理,是茄子,芹菜和其他蔬菜的美味熱菜。 醋的混合非常開胃,讓我們更期待primi和secondi(義大利🇮🇹叫法,primi像starter但通常是義大利麵,secondi像main通常是肉扒)

對於primi,我們選擇了當日的特別商品-帶有鴨肉ragu的天使義大利麵🍝,鴨肉代替了傳統的牛肉,帶來了更精緻的香氣,並為菜餚增添了質樸的風味。 將意大利面煮至完美的質感,非常匹配!😋😋如需要改進,我只能說我希望它能進入常規菜單,那長期都可以吃!

對於secondi,我們吃了托斯卡納風格的煎豬排,這是餐廳的招牌菜。 它並沒有令人失望,有1英寸厚的豬排被完美地煎炸了,裡面的肉質多汁。 隨附的煎香的番茄🍅,豆類和花椰菜,也使這道菜在視覺上也令人愉悅。

最重要的是,我們點了zuccotto,這是一個奶油和非常好吃的海綿蛋糕,裡面充滿了巧克力奶油和鮮奶油。 這甜品🍮清淡,適量的甜味可以說是完整的托斯卡納大餐。

Walk in this Italian place by accident but everything here is soooooo good! Homemade Tagliatelle with ragu
My fav dish of the night!  Tagliatelle with ragu is a traditional staple of Italian cuisine. This one is rich and fruity with tomato with the meat appearing to surf it. I read from the menu that all the pasta are homemade and it does taste a big difference from regular pre-made ones. It is delicately chewy, with tender and silky texture. Al Dente!

My friends ordered this as she is a vegetarian. It smells so good when it comes! I took a few bites and can tell it is 
well cooked with rich garlic and virgin olive oil!

This place definitely offers one of the best homemade pasta in town. I have been to Italy a few years ago and this 
place just brings back all the good memories, for one night I forget I am still in Hong Kong instead. Cannot

這家在西營盤的意大利餐廳, 有點別樹一角的感覺, 餐廳左右是車房. 而一進店卻沒有其他食客, 雖說是Late Lunch, 但如此”包場”我也甚少遇到. 老闆從事葡萄酒生意, 來回香港和意大利兩地, 除了酒品交易, 也將意大利的住家菜帶來香港. 餐廳中的Trattoria就是代表小餐館, 比較Causal而隨意, 價格定位並不昂貴, 再加上網上預訂有八折優惠, 就更商宜. 點了兩道主菜分別是牛面額肉和Penne Rigatoni: 前者以紅酒醬煮成, 肉質相當腍身, 而且也夠入味, 濃香而甜的味道, 果然很住家菜的感覺, 只是肉切得比較細塊, 不夠滋味; 後者就是有坑纹的長通粉, 以簡單的茄汁, 香料和Mozzarella煮成, 既簡單又開胃, 長通粉帶有蛋香, 口感又夠al dente, 以小菜館來說一點也不失禮. 她的服務從細節位上看也夠細心, 例如喝的凍檸茶並沒有在直接加上冰塊, 而是在杯底的注水處入水, 才放入冰格保存, 這樣不單止不會稀釋檸檬茶的茶味, 也能維持其低溫, 值得欣賞. 可惜是在午飯時間, 就不能喝自家的葡萄酒了!

A great hidden gem serving family style Italian cuisine. Pastas are surprisingly good and the main dishes are great too. I wish I had taken some photos of the food but I didn’t. The pastas are home made, and can taste the difference. The homemade pastas have a lot more textures and chewiness than regular pre-made pastas. Made a reservation via a discount dining app and was looking forward to a value for money and enjoyable dinner. It’s turned out to be a rather plain experience with nothing special. First of all, a different menu with limited choices and inflated prices was given to us because of our discounted booking. Honestly If a restaurant does not want to offer discount then please just don’t offer. We ended up having some very average dishes. The bread cubes were dry and stale. Lasagne and pork chops were

Made a reservation via a discount dining app and was looking forward to a value for money and enjoyable dinner. It’s turned out to be a rather plain experience with nothing special.

First of all, a different menu with limited choices and inflated prices was given to us because of our discounted booking. Honestly If a restaurant does not want to offer discount then please just don’t offer.

We ended up having some very average dishes. The bread cubes were dry and stale. Lasagne and pork chops were ok but for the price they charged, I was expecting something extraordinary but did not get. We skipped dessert.

Service was prompt and polite but the restaurant did not have an Italian feel. No music no atmosphere. Overall, just a very uneventful dinner unfortunately.

來過這裏很多次, 每次都能保持水準, 看得出他們準備食材有嚴謹的要求,像坐在意大利吃一樣,相信去過的人會有同樣理解。 今次沒有食牛扒,但他的豬鞍也很好吃, 肉汁很多很鮮嫩,每次也會聽從電源推介選意粉,從來沒有錯,今次的羊肉意粉也很好吃, 我們用麵包把餘下的醬汁也吃乾淨, 一滴不剩。希望下次多幾個人來盡吃些不同的。 感覺價錢和份量調整了,較以前親民和大眾化, 我們有喝一個南瓜湯,但忘記拍照, 肯定中的一個湯,不是一般唱到那種濃濃的, 有點像中式的南瓜湯的感覺, 很好喝!

So to start with a friend of mine had booked a table at this restaurant since she had heard a lot about this place ,  when we reached the restaurant we were greeted very nicely by the waiter and the owner's son, after we sat down , we were explained about the hand-made pasta they have and the mains and their signatures so we ordered that and little did i know that they have wine from their own winery name ,one of which we tried ,if i remember it i think it was the nero d'avola which is a fruity

So to start with a friend of mine had booked a table at this restaurant since she had heard a lot about this place ,  when we reached the restaurant we were greeted very nicely by the waiter and the owner's son, after we sat down , we were explained about the hand-made pasta they have and the mains and their signatures so we ordered that and little did i know that they have wine from their own winery name ,one of which we tried ,if i remember it i think it was the nero d'avola which is a fruity wine but yes coming to the food part , we had an exceptional time over there , the atmosphere is very cosy and you can relax and just enjoy the food slowly.Coming to the food part , the pasta that we tried were the gnocchi and the bigoli with lamb ragu both of them were outstanding in their own different taste and texture. For the main , we had ordered a beef fillet which was so tender , overall i really loved the hospitality and the food, at first i thought it is a little pricey but to be very honest here , i think each bite of the food and the sip of their wine was worth the money i paid . i'd  definitely plan on going there again soon .
題外話/補充資料: Do try the gnocchi when u go there its very good.

It includes fennel, oranges, olives, seasoned with some parsley. The dish is refreshing, but at a price of $170, the ingredients are simple and the portion is surprisingly small
. Not much for a couple to share.

Heard it is handmade and the texture is al dente. The shrimps are OK, not very remarkable. The creamy sauce is quite enticing. Again, at price of $220, the competition at this price range is fierce and we may have higher expectation.

3. Pork chop

The pork chop is juicy and tender. However, I scratched my head on menu price $420, given the origin and the moderate portion (guess only around 150g). It is neither an Iberico nor Kurobata pork, but only a Canadian one! The price can almost match those 5-star hotel restaurants that offer Iberico pork
.

4. Panna Cotta

We appreciated the olive oil and basil on top of the panna cotta, which added a refreshing flavour. However, the portion does not commensurate with the menu price of $120. No kidding, the bottle is smaller than a Yakult drink.

Overall, the food here is not bad, but the CP value is extremely low, in view of both its price and portion. I would like to love this restaurant but cannot find sufficient reasons to.

Verdict: at this price range, there are much better choices in prime location.

The restaurant is pretty decent, the food is really great, I went here for lunch, as the price for the set lunch seemed pretty reasonable, the pasta nduja in spicy tomato is really a treat, I loved the spicy yet a good acidic flavour in the pasta, the panacotta dessert in the end was really delicious as the texture was very creamy and sweet.
