Recently I had the pleasure of trying the delightful 3-course set menu priced at $398 at Bouillon. While the seating felt a bit tight with limited personal space, the bistro-style ambiance was inviting and charming with a relaxing atmosphere. The Starters (Egg Mayonnaise, Herring Caviar, and Basil) was visually stunning and flavors intriguing though I found it to be a bit too salty for my taste. For the main course, I opted for the Classic Beef Tartare, served with perfectly crispy fries. The tartare was nicely seasoned, highlighting the freshness of the beef. The fries were were a substantial addition that filled up the stomach.To conclude the meal, I picked the Tarte Tatin for an additional HK$ 48 which was worth. If you’re looking for a dining experience in a cozy bistro setting, Bouillion is undoubtedly a destination worth visiting.

Superb lunch with tasty foodBREAD BASKET🥖Selected Bread with Butter: Bread crust was slightly crispy. Butter was prepared to the right texture to spread on the breadSTARTER🐮Beef Tong Carpaccio • Celery Remoulade, Câpres, Pickles: The beef was tender and the Remoulade added the nice creamy and tangy touch 🐚Scallops Carpaccio • Salmon Roe, Fresh Granny Smith Apple, Lemon Confit and Sherry Vinegar: A refreshing starter. A pity that the salmon roe added the slight fishy aroma MAIN DISH🦆Confit de Canard • Duck Leg Confit, Sautéd Shiitake Mushrooms, Fresh Apple: Cooked to perfection, the duck was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sautéed mushrooms had very nice flavours 🐟Fish of the Day A La Plancha: The fish was also slightly crispy on the outside and nice and flakey on the inside DESSERT🍮Passion Fruit Crème Bruleé: One of the most memorable Crème Bruleé, it was so nice to have that fresh passion fruit taste, not all would be able to have such sensation 🍫Chocolate Mousse: Very rich and creamyDownside was that no free tap water provided. I thought the beef tongue carpaccio was raw when looking at the menu, while it turned out to be cooked. I liked the sauce, which changed the dish from a simple cold cut to something else. The scallops carpaccio was very fresh. Love their bread as well, especially when paired with their butter! For the mains, the Confit de Canard, the duck leg confit, was superb! The shiitake mushrooms and apples that went with it did a nice job complementing the duck leg, which was very rich in flavour and nicely cooked that the meat became very tender. The fish of the day was featured in a nice rich broth with peppercorn. The passion fruit crème brulee was another highlight. It’s one of their signature items. There’s a right balance of passion fruit flavour and egg flavour from the smooth crème brulee. The chef had used the passion fruit skin as the bowl as well! The chocolate mousse was a nice, smooth one, while the passion fruit crème brulee was more amazing.I chose to sit upstairs to be more private, as the tables are very close to each other in the main area facing the bar.
