在鬧市走得太多,最近愛上在鬧市中尋找寧靜的地方,好好享受一下食飯的時間。穿過百德新街,遠遠會看到一個白色的小角落,門面乾淨,有異國的浪漫氣氛。店內有很多落地玻璃,可以通透的望到街外,下午的時候看到街外的陽光,一邊吃午餐,心情完全放鬆。至於吃午餐的menu很簡單,西蘭花湯內有粒粒意大利火腿,帶着一點點鹹味和口感,很不錯,pasta款式比較簡單,感覺清新。享受環境比食物多,一邊食外面有不少人路過也忍不住影相打卡,和朋友在這裏聚會很不錯!

The four of us came for a birthday dinner for a colleague. We were seated at the corner table and we sort of had our own place and enjoy ourselves.Decoration is simple and white. Food is good. We had 4 appetizers (main seafood) and a seafood main course plus a pasta and a pizza. We managed to sample a few desserts and the ladies were very happy with them.

All in all, a happy evening with good food and good company.

P.S. If only they'd serve bread so we could fare la scarpetta per the seafood dishes.

曾經在意大利及西班牙逗留一段時間,吃過多間餐廳的頭盤、佐酒小碟 (tapas), 有些酒吧小館也一早烹調好食物再加上調味。但有些fine dining 餐廳會在客人下單後才新鮮炮製食材, 務求令客人能品嚐新鮮熱辣辣的食物。在Papi, 以這些小碟的價錢用這樣的烹調方法及超快的上菜時間,實在令人失望。 連小碟頭盤都煮不好,試問主菜及甜品會好吃嗎? 在這情況下, 朋友跟我不敢再點選任何食物。

一間餐廳好不好不在於它的裝修及環境!服務質素、食物味道及新鮮程度也很重要。 開胃菜可算是一餐的開始,若不能在這階段勾起客人的胃口及心情,又怎能把客人逐一帶到主菜及甜品的層面。最後,我同朋友在短短的45分鐘吃過晚餐結帳離去了。

For meats, we had the Italian style Roasted suckling pig and Roast Chicken.
The roast chicken had fregola pasta hidden underneath it which soaked the delicious chicken flavours and oils hence it was evilicious.
The suckling pig was so tender that the texture was like chicken.

If you only had Pizza from local or American style chain store, you might ask why the pizza here is so thin. Just use your hand, pick up a piece, roll it and enjoy. Taste not only the topping but the chewy and delicious pizza dough. It will soon become your comfort food and your stomach will call you back regularly.

老公愛牛,點紅酒的另一半原因就是為了這份 美國安格斯西冷牛扒 (300g) 配鮮迷你白菌 ($358),牛扒份量頗大,成數十分理想,嫣紅粉嫩卻一點血水也無,這樣連兩兄妹都可以吃到;除了牛扒好吃,底下的迷你白菌又是十分好吃,這天吃菇吃到超滿足的!

不吃甜品總是不太滿足,所以最後又點了 甜品併盤 ($158),連同兩杯香濃咖啡作結。Tiramisu 及 Gelato 沒變,不過中間 Panna Cotta 由上回的 mixed berries 口味變成了咖啡味,兩兄妹不喜歡,兩口子卻欣賞不得了!

On a bit of a side note, Papi's back! The popular casual Italian eatery which used to be a stalwart at the Elements Shopping Mall made a recent comeback last month at Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay. Since, everybody wanted something different (other than Chinese food) for a change, so we decided to go there for our "new year celebration".

When we first arrived at the new Papi, we realized it's a lot smaller than what we expected.

Four-cheese Pizza / Pizza with Italian sausage & button mushroom ($188) - The best thing about ordering pizza at Papi is that you have the option to get two different flavors in one single pizza. It's always good to have choices so we ended up having the four-cheese and the Italian sausage and button mushroom pizza together.

The four-cheese pizza (mascarpone, mozzarella, parmesan and gorgonzola) has always been my favorite pizza. The cheesiness was right on the money and I thought quite a bit better than the one we had at Spasso's last month (Grade: 4/5). Less tasty was the one with Italian sausage and button mushroom. I have always had a soft spot for cheesy pizza so this one without cheese just felt a little weird for me (Grade: 3/5).

Homemade tagiatelle with French rabbit ragout and black olive tomato sauce ($168) - This was a lot better than the carbonara, which didn't surprise me considering it's a signature dish. Roasted suckling pig Italian style ($358) - The highlight of the meal. The dish was well portioned and the meat was really juicy and tender. I like the supporting cast of braised apple, cabbage and caramelized fig all playing their role perfectly to balance the oiliness of the pig (Grade: 4/5).

I've been there on New year's Eve with a couple of friends. We ordered a la carte and the food arrived quite quickly but not at the same time. That's normal here but not nice in such a pricey restaurant when you don't share and the others are already finished when you start. Pasta portions are quite small, pizza is normal but very thin and very very very cross. Good taste anyway. Service was very good, friendly and open. The atmosphere is fresh and lightful, I'd prefer it for lunch not for dinne
