幫朋友搬新居,搬完之後梗係要食番餐先啦。係灣仔道見到一間越南餐廳(Pho 778),就入左去試下。我同朋友都係肉meat lovers 所以叫左安格斯生牛肉坑腩湯河 (HKD 58,轉set 加HKD 15)同埋安格斯生牛肉牛丸湯河 (HKD 59,轉set 加HKD 15)。兩個都係要左大分量既,而跟餐小食越南春卷,香茅蝦餅,餐飲就要左熱檸蜜。佢有教我地點食先係最惹味,先要嘗個湯底,跟住加9層塔,芽菜同埋青檸汁,分量就因人而異。跟住再嘗完一次之後,就可以再加埋是拉差醬再嘗試。 發覺跟佢個食法,真係有不同既口感同層次,有全新既感覺呀。牛坑腩好稔同塊安格斯生牛肉真係好好味,冇得輸呀。個春卷炸得好脆,裏面仲有一隻蝦,口感豐富。 至於個蝦餅,都唔錯,不過略為炸多左少少。整體黎講,都唔錯,可以再試。

牛坑腩好稔同塊安格斯生牛肉真係好好味,冇得輸呀
。個春卷炸得好脆,裏面仲有一隻蝦,口感豐富。 至於個蝦餅,都唔錯,不過略為炸多左少少。

上openrice見好似好多人讚咁,又好似講到好好食,呢一日咁岩去灣仔做野,試下先。豬頸肉撈朦:評分:7/10呢一日其實唔係想食呢個,但間野話炸爐壞左,食唔到炸的野,加上間野唔知咩事,呢樣冇個樣冇,時值放飯時段,但間野好似剛剛先開店咁,燈光昏暗,既然想食的都冇得食,唯有迫住食豬頸肉,可能因為d店員掛住研究個炸爐,大家都好似懶得理你咁,令我對呢間野的服務態度,扣左好多分。講番呢碗野,um......冇咩特別,其實唔知講咩,因為是日唔想食豬頸肉,肉質唔算爽口,有點乾,有點貴,沒有野飲盛惠$48,以灣仔地段黎講,我唔怪佢。本來黎食之前,諗住如果好食就下次帶最愛黎食,佢鐘意食炸野,不過經過今日,我諗有其他更好的選擇。

由於連午飯還沒吃,胃納仍有空間,決定再每人加點一份法包。選了香茅豬頸肉越式法包 ($35) 和香茅雞扒越式法包 ($38)  各一。法包即叫即焗,Size 勁大,足足有成 7 吋長,上桌時塞滿餡料,氣勢十足。先嘗一口包身,麵包焗得剛好,不會太硬,夠曬脆口,前者輔以具嚼勁的豬頸肉,而後者就夾入了帶淡淡香茅味嘅雞扒,配埋生菜、番茄、青瓜、香葉等蔬菜一起入口,非常豐富,讓人吃得津津有味。

飲品點了以青檸炮製嘅咸檸七 ($26) , 先把檸檬戳破,讓鹹檸檬的味道流出,然後再喝。輕啜一口,集酸、甜、鹹多重味道於一身,非常解渴,正。這頓下午茶,整體水準不錯,吃得相當滿意,下次會來挑戰一吓那個火車頭湯河!

It's a smallish restaurant with cramped seating. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge and cash only. Serving various types of pho, they also had banh mi. Prices are no expensive and range under $100.

They also had some pictorial instruction on how to eat pho. I guess to just to explain the love of Siracha.

I ordered a raw beef and  beef ball pho ($49). First the soup was at least hot. But it wasn't very beefy in flavor and had  slightly strong MSG flavor to it. The raw beef was tender and the beef balls were pretty good. The noodles were just thick and completely the wrong noodles used in pho. It's the typical rice noodles that is used in a majority of the Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong.

It was an ok bowl of pho but it definitely wasn't the excellent ones I grew  up on. This was just a typical one that is widely sold all over Hong Kong. The only thing is that it's at least not expensive like the other Hong Kong style pho. That is at least a bonus point. Might be back for a cheap bowl of pho and wish there really was a place that sold the pho I grew up on for this price. But so far, my search continues as this is not it.
