看戲後的晚餐。七點幾,唔少人,要等上十多分鐘先有位。泰式野,有好幾款小食都想食,同時又想食燒雞,跟套餐的組合差唔多,就唔再諗要個套餐。平日都係喜歡散叫,自由d,水準亦通常比套餐好,今日又試試套餐既水準如何。先黎拼盤,有軟殼蟹卷、蝦餅、春卷同魚餅。軟殼蟹,一大舊,夠酥脆,不過真係炸得幾油膩下;蝦餅同魚餅就一般,鮮美欠奉,不過就尚算彈牙;春卷,皮做得香脆,沒有投訴的地方。整體幾穩陣的泰式拼盤。烤蔬菜,係蘆筍同原個蕃茄。燒得夠香,灑幾粒鹽調調味,味道可以想像得到的烤蔬菜。燒雞,有點意外既係一大隻,份量十足。雞燒得皮脆肉嫩,食落有淡淡既香草味,係做得有水準既燒雞。另點既烤餅,軟熟鬆化的,不過未算太香,沒有咖哩黎送,齋食有點寡。餐有個desert,係香蕉布甸伴雪糕,香蕉味幾勁,伴有好多雲尼拿汁,撈埋雪糕同香蕉布甸一齊食,夠哂香。仲有兩杯table wine,酸酸的,雞都未食完,杯酒已經散左。想不到這個二人套餐有禁多野食,整體水準還可以,原來套餐也可以抵食的。

先飲杯 Lychee Ginger (non-alcoholic 版 $45): 由 lychee honey, lychee soda 及 ginger juice etc 溝成, 飲落係有汽的, 荔枝味唔「人工」, 少少酸, 薑汁的辛辣就係 "burp" 的時候最突出, 哈哈.


朋友飲 Thai Sugar Cane (non-alcoholic 版 $45), 由 sugar cane, mint, lemongrass etc 溝成, 飲落的確好勁 lemongrass 味, 幾甜, aftertaste 亦如朋友所講「似 bubble gum」, 感覺得意, 但味道其實怪怪哋, 唔喜歡.

炸軟殼蟹 ($98): 為佢而來, 懶理佢是否「天下間極肥之物」了
粉漿薄, 炸得脆口, 食落亦好好「肉」/ 膏, 就咁食都幾香, 不過炸得太油膩了; 旁邊的魚露汁就又酸又鹹又 "fishy", 味道豐富, 蘸軟殼蟹亦可減低油膩感, 幾喜歡.

沙爹串燒 (雞, 牛, 豬) ($72): 三款肉都醃得入味 (香茅味好勁), 不過就以雞肉最好食, 嫩腍又多汁
牛肉都不錯, 質地軟腍, 牛味亦比預期濃; 豬肉就較粗嚡; 沙爹汁花生味幾香, 亦幾濃椰汁味, 唔辣, 幾甜, 都幾啱口味. 做得不錯的串燒, 值得試試的.

Roti ($22 一份): 本來只叫了一客嚟送咖喱 (詳見下文), 不過呢度做得十分鬆化, 酥油味香, 就咁食都好好食, 最後係要追加一客.


大虎蝦黃咖喱 ($168): 大家作為受辣「幼稚園生」/「小學生」, 咖喱當然選最小辣的「黃」, 不過呢個咖喱汁比預期稀, 食落唔算香濃, 反而幾辣
虎蝦好好肉, 賣相靚, 不過「炭」/「燶」味實在太勁, 質地亦唔算爽實, 配咖喱汁同吃會較好, 不過既然咖喱汁都麻麻, 可想而知有幾「唔太好食」; 亦不得不提呢隻蝦幾多膏, 不過 d 膏都幾苦的...


食到 8 成飽, 但見甜品款式唔少, 仲好似幾吸引, 又叫了香蕉布甸伴雪糕 ($48) 試試: 布甸熱熱的, 質地及味道都似「勁 moist 版」香蕉蛋糕多 d, 蕉味香濃, 仲有黏稠又好甜的 toffee sauce, 粒粒焦糖 crunch 及碟上如「水塘」的 vanilla sauce, 食落甜得嚟香, 而且係我喜歡的 "caramel" 味, 正
配上雪糕一冰一熱, 最後仍然清碟.


食物有好有唔好, 環境就好好, 裝修得有點似酒店的 coffee shop / buffet 餐廳
店員們有禮貌亦有求必應, 招呼亦好.

連加一埋單每人 $286, 比預期仲要貴 d, 喺 PP 嚟講叫 "standard', 但我覺得唔太抵食, 試過就算了.

最後一味,是我要求點的炸軟殼蟹。喜歡香口食物既我,看見賣相靚仔的軟殼蟹,自然是愛不釋手。粉漿厚薄適中,炸得香脆透徹,啖啖肉,我是吃完一隻又一隻的。

這一餐,滿意!吃得興起,當然是又有下場。

It was my first time to this Thai Basil, although it was a last minute booking but the waitress was very kind to put us to a corner table.My first impression was that the restaurant was very spacious and "dark"!Then a waiter came to take our drink order and I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigrio and two glasses of water. It was my first time to this Thai Basil, although it was a last minute booking but the waitress was very kind to put us to a corner table.

My first impression was that the restaurant was very spacious and "dark"!

Then a waiter came to take our drink order and I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigrio and two glasses of water. The wine came with no time but he seems to have forgot our water which I had to remind him again.

We had ordered sauteed morning glory 泰蒜蝦干炒通菜($68), 1/2 dozen char grilled chicken and pork satays 沙嗲豬和雞串($72) and thai prawn green curry fried organic brown rice 泰蝦青咖哩炒有機糙米飯($92).

The sauteed morning glory was very nice and the amount of dried prawn and chilli were just right.


Char grilled satays were very "char grilled" as some parts of the meats were burn but the taste of the satays were nice.


Finally, the fired organic brown rice, we would be more appreciated if the waiter could remind us that the green curry was the hottest curry among the others and also no where was mentioned in the menu that this dish was very "spicy hot".
The texture of the organic brown rice was a bit like risotto which was nice.......except the spice (what a pitty).

Overall the food were very tasty, their portions were generous and the prices are reasonable in Pacific Place area.

A very strongly-flavoured soup of equal spicy and sourness. I enjoyed this mug of soup (despite its high sodium content), but the ridiculously over-cooked lobster pieces had lost its taste and texture, and became quite bland and soft.

"Char-grilled Prawn Salad" ($88)
grilled prawns, pomelo, green beans, Chinese garlic chives ('gau choy'), thai basil, fried garlic, chilli lemongrass dressing
This salad is really spicy! A twist on the traditional spicy prawn salad, this one incorporates other greens and pomelo fruit for a citrus zingg. There's an abundance of Thai basil leaves which I liked.
"Char-grilled vegetables" ($88/4 items)
sweet potato, pumpkin, asparagus, zucchini
Everything was cooked perfectly, and the charred bits were the best. They were brushed with a little olive oil before cooked so they were naturally flavourful without the addition of any extra sauces. Pumpkins were sweet, but the sweet potatoes were not (I guess they aren't in season).

"Char grilled basil chicken wok fried noodles" ($88)
Grilled chicken breast, basil, Thai asparagus, shallots, bean sprouts, vermicelli-like noodles, fried garlic
The chicken breast was not at all dry despite having been grilled over high heat to achieve its marks. The noodles are very lightly seasoned, and if you don't like fiery foods this is an option, as it contains no chillies. Sadly the charring ended at the chicken breast and did not extend to the noodles - there was no 'wok-hay' at all, which is what I look for in a good fried noodle dish.

"Wok fried Thai Spicy Crab" ($188)
Whole Crab, Thai basil, lemongrass, chilli, garlic, shallots, fresh green pepper, black pepper
My ma had tried this before and said it was good but extremely spicy, so we asked them to go lighter on the chillies, and it was indeed lightened. Nonetheless, it is still a rather spicy dish, so wouldn't recommend this if you detest any form of heat. The crabs were fried well, each piece equally coated with all the seasoning and spices, and the crab meat was not to soft (not over-cooked).
Overall I enjoyed the food here quite a lot for its big and bold flavours, and will be back in the near future to sample other items, but I still miss Lian!

This time we ordered the mango paper roll (Mango 米紙卷) (mango, shredded carrots, shredded beets, wrapped in rice paper with sweet chili sauce), thai green curry mixed vegetables 青咖哩雜菜 (a bit spicy, with big chunks of carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, potato and pumpkin in green curry sauce topped with bean sprouts and some arugula drizzled with olive oil (doesn't come with rice)), garlic spinach 蒜炒菠菜 (quite flavourful, decent portion, not as greasy as I imagined), and the organic fried rice with chicken and grilled pineapple 菠籮雞粒有機糙米飯 (grilled pineapple on the side which was quite sweet, the fried rice is a bit on the oily side but the rice is good with a nice chew to it. there's also a bit of green beans sauteed with the rice)

Overall the food is served fast and fresh. As with most fusion Thai dishes it's a bit greasy but it's acceptable. None of our dishes were over $100 and those 4 dishes were perfect for 3 to share. Definitely will come back again. Might have a glass of pinot grigio next time to go with the meal

A semi-open kitchen approach but seemed like a semi-fast food counter to me from the speed of serving the dishes, both hot and cold.
Valuable real estate here hence the packed arrangement of tables in my opinion
Refreshing Pomelo Salad but a boring dish.

Thai Prawn Cakes were nice with or without the sauce. The sauce was a bit ... too sour for me to be honest.

Ywannn .... didn't I tell you that it is boring?? Sauteed Spinach leaves was a bit too salty, other than that it tasted like another sauteed spinach leaves everywhere.

Char-grilled cod fish was rather interesting. It was curry broth instead of thick curry. The fish was nice but not of optimal temperature unfortunately.

Char-grilled satay platter was unexpectedly pleasant. Soft and tender beef plus pork skewers. At least they were hot!

Char-grilled Duck Breast wok fried Hokkien Noodles was a bit too greasy and too moist for my liking.

Went here for dinner with a friend. Ambiance is nice, dim lit, had comfy golden sofas in the center for seating, which was neat; liked the decor. Food: Ordered Pad Thai, Mixed Satay skewers, Garlic sauteed spinach leaves. Pad Thai was good and authentic with the peanuts/chili flakes/raw bean sprouts to the sides of the plate so that you can distribute yourself. Also came with a good number of shrimp and hard bean curd slices and the touch of Chives was appreciated. The Spinach was good too, but its a pretty easy/straightforward dish to make. The mixed satay skewers came with 6, 2 each of pork, chicken, beef and it was not good....the mean definitely did not taste fresh nor tender. The chicken was decent, but the pork and beef - I just took a nibble and didn't go further. I was suspect that the meat wasn't cooked thoroughly. The satay sauce lacked authenticity, I prefer it more chunkier with crushed peanuts, but the one here was pretty thin in consistency. I also had a taste of my friend's glass of white wine, a Chardonnay - and I couldn't help but make a face because it was so sour, tasted like it had some vinegar in it - definitely not good wine.

Service: Was prompt, they were good at refilling my water. However, I just hate when restaurants only ask if you want still/sparkling water. Jeez, I just want free tap!

Sizing it up: Food, on average was okay, nothing mind-blowing. Wine by the glass offerings were non-existent, and the white wine I tasted was gross. I wouldn't come again unless I was craving Thai food and in the Admiralty area.

LYCHEE GINGER : 原來以為這個飲杯是熱飲,誰不知原來可以選擇凍飲,心想凍的荔枝加薑的感覺也算是挺新穎的。此飲料是以荔枝蜜、荔枝汁、薑汁及梳打水'混'成的。與其說是薑汁,不如說是薑茸更貼切,所以它都會沉澱在下面,點了的話記緊要拌勻喇。個人就不怎麼感覺到有荔枝蜜了,不過梳打水、荔枝汁及薑汁的味道算是挺均勻;而且也沒有太辣的薑味,所以算是挺易入口的 (因為本人不怎麼吃薑) 。


原以為生吞拿魚青木瓜沙津的吞拿魚真的是生的,不過原來它的表面是有稍為燒了一下的,所以也不算是刺身來的。不過老實說個人認為青木瓜的份量實在有點太多,反而其他的食材就有點太少了。個人雖然喜愛吃蔬菜,但這個青木瓜的份量真的稍為多了點喇。

接著來的脆炸軟殼蟹可算是這個晚餐最美味的菜式,說是他們的'thai basil's choice'真的不為過。
這個軟殼蟹真的做到了色、香、味俱全,賣相吸引之餘,趁熱吃真可新鮮吃到這道菜,而且更是非常的香脆 (但又不算是太脆的那種)。另上軟殼蟹真的是啖啖肉、份量也真的不少。雖說是要100塊,但個人認為絕對是值得推薦的。

大蝦炒泰米上菜的時候我真的給在上面大量的生芽菜嚇倒了,不過幸而個人喜歡吃生芽菜,配合這個麵也算是不錯。其實所謂的泰米,個人真的不是太吃得出跟金邊粉有什麼分別。不知道是廚師炒的時間不夠還意的,個人認為這個炒泰米並不是那麼乾身,然而個人比較吃比較濕潤的河粉或米粉,所以自己就覺得挺合自己口味的。

整體來說,這頓晚餐可以說是很錯的。不過個人認為如果他們可以將上菜的次序及速度稍為控制一下的話就更佳了,始終,在這種餐廳進餐,要求高一點希望也不算是苛刻吧。

順帶一提,到埋單的時候才發覺原來這餐廳是美金集團的食肆,所以AE卡2人進食又可以有半價。折實大概是220塊左右,真的算是挺划算。

在PP AMC 看過 500 days with summer,順道往樓下吃晚餐。第一次晚飯時間去Thai Basil,感覺氣氛幽暗而舒適,weekday入座率約七成,無需等位。菜上很快,質素也不錯。 Mojito/很清新好喝,南洋菜香(薄荷葉)加酒香(Rum),如吃辣,是必點之選。 海鮮炒有機糙米飯/飯粒半硬身,稍濕身而入味,個人很喜歡,帶子大蝦尤魚有鮮味,炒飯份量也比想象中多。 泰醬煮鱔/鱔很肥美,醬微辣也很惹味,不錯。 鵝肉帶子米卷/很香口,料不少,不錯。 孖串燒海鮮/男友說青口(兩隻)很不錯,我的帶子(三隻)也不差,只是性價比不高。吃過晚飯,仍可以慢慢坐,環境十分適合談心,加上地點便利,是個好地方。
