同個friend即興黎試SML7點3到上到去,,,唔洗等位不過因為無訂位所以8點半前要交位睇完menu,,,叫左個1) cesar salad romaine cos lettuce 好fresh 但唔夠cheesy2)spaghetti carbonara 好creamy ... good !!3)mushroom risotto 個人唔太中意....d risotto 好硬4) Lasagna nice sauce 5) CRISPY PORK BELLY pork belly 有的乾但overall 都ok 我地叫5個 S... 個waitress話可能會唔夠但上哂之後都我同朋友都覺得夠好岩細食既人去!!

我今日同爸爸媽媽去左sml食飯,一見到環境我覺得幾靓,音樂好特別!!!當我們想叫嘢飲既時候,有個部長好清楚詳細介紹我們食物材料,咁因為我爸媽比較年齡大,眼睇嘢唔係禁好,個部長就介紹我們食羊肉,雞肉,佢話但可能要等一陣,叫我們叫多個 salad 食住先,因為我唔想諗咁多,我就話 ok la.因為我爸爸想飲 wine ,佢仲介紹我們和wine 機 ,我們仲買左張 $ 100 wine card 玩 wine 機,幾得意!!一路飲 wine一路食 salad,估唔到食完 salad 羊肉,雞肉分別就到,來食物既時間真係做得幾好!!!要讚!!!!但食物的味道真係好普通 ,賣相一般沒特別.羊肉好似一串嘢,雞肉個賣相紅紅黃黃好似唔熟,最正常就係個 salad,食物的味道真係好普通 ,..........失望.......但是我們覺得服務真係幾好......後來爸爸仲個部長咩名,好像叫咩posi,好難讀...點都好多謝他清楚既介紹,令我爸媽 happy

近期其中一間焦點餐廳,就是在時代食通天的"SML",其特別之處,是每一道菜式,有細,中,大size.吃多吃少,悉隨專便.此餐廳在今期Timeout,也得到不俗的評價.餐廳門外放置了大大個粉紅色機械人,究竟這間餐廳,是以什麼作主題?這個機械人,是我們的粉紅救兵,或粉紅炮兵?入到餐廳裏面,見到一行一行長檯,好像置身在飯堂吃"大鑊飯",這個慨念早在多年前,已被本地時裝品牌IZZUE先行一步,當年IZZUE在世貿開設的餐廳,也是佈置如飯堂一樣.是夜我們十多人,霸佔了大半張長檯,頭盤,麵條,主菜,甜品,每樣也叫數款來試.頭盤先上三文魚他他,將三文魚做到如牛肉他他般,再撈上鵪春蛋,同碟邊其他配料如洋荵粒,酸瓜粒,幾種味道撈埋一起,食落都幾開胃.另一個頭盤Pole Gras confit chicken truffle salad,鵝肝同confit chicken一起放在玻璃罃上.遠看有點似加大碼魚子醬,食法是將鵝肝,塗上多士上.再與沙律同吃.但這道菜的鵝肝味道不明顯.兼出奇地乾,沒有吃鵝肝的油潤感覺.幸好也吃不出腐屍味.Sear tuna外熟內生,肉質嫩而沒有渣,醬汁是豉油,麻油加清酒,味道很香

Sear tuna外熟內生,肉質嫩而沒有渣,醬汁是豉油,麻油加清酒,味道很香.意式肉丸普通不過,意式生牛肉差不多是每次大班人,吃意大利菜時必叫.牛肉切成薄片,在面頭舖上火箭菜,巴馬臣芝士,再加上松露油.賣相對辦,可惜牛肉味不濃,松露油亦不著跡.同月前在Vivo吃過的生牛肉,相差一截.Crostini anchovy mayonnaise,麵包帶點脆口,香濃的蛋黃醬,與鹹鮮的銀魚柳這個組合,似乎又擦得出一點火花.

Crispy pork belly red cabbage apple colesaw,是全夜做得最好的一味,Timeout的食評也是用這道菜的相片,用層次分明的肥豬肉來燒,結果豬皮入口crispy,中間的肥肉甘香即化,下面的瘦肉極為鬆化.用red cabbage作配菜,蘋果做出來帶甜的醬汁,能夠有助消去肥膩感.見到有人在食評上,在這道菜的相片上,說明"太肥".肥豬肉當然要夠肥,如果覺得肥,還吃來托麼?批評還批評,也要make sense.

Grill US hanger steak with chips,上菜是牛扒已先行切件,但是牛扒質素麻麻,伴碟的薯條香脆鬆軟,似乎更受歡迎.卡邦那拿意粉又是眾人共享的熱門之物.醬汁香濃,意粉則未算很有咬口.Spicy lamb kebab又是另一個highlight,其實不是羊肉卡巴,而是將羊肉免治,做成肉棒形狀去燒,口感鬆化之外,羊味更加明顯,伴碟的乳酪同羊肉棒下面的沙律,又是用來中和一下羊肉的強烈味道.另一味麵食是千層麵,又是沒有特別之處,炆牛尾意大利飯,飯粒有點點過淋,論牛尾的味道也尚可.

甜品又是少不了的一環,Pot of chocolate細中大,三個size叫齊,其實味道還是一樣,沉溺在濃甜的朱古力之下,也能夠自拔,因為沒有那種朱古力的甘苦,

在餐牌上的註解,什麼民主體驗大小通吃,這一樣,我們去燒味檔斬料,要$10叉燒,或二十三十,甚至成斤上,或者上酒家叫碟燒鵝,例牌半隻一隻隨你喜歡,又算不算是民主體驗?說回這一道"民主"體驗,不過不失.有人仍未吃夠,大叫要去"溝貨".

飯後步出門口,再看一看粉紅機械人,才發覺其下身某部位,好像打了"馬賽克".外表如沖繩少女的友人M,上前與機械人合照一番.......

Being one of those people who always want to scoff the entire menu down and end up over-ordering (and wasting lots of food), I loved being able to get "S" sized portions of everything here. Had a small portion of fried veg to start off with - this had little bits of garlic and hints of sesame oil in it and was a lot more appealling than all their other "salad" dishes in the menu. So I'd recommend this one if you want some greens to go with your meal.Then I shared a spaghetti carbonara & lasagna

Then I shared a spaghetti carbonara & lasagna with my friend - both exceeded my expectations, since most casual "Italian" restaurants in HK don't do al dente pasta these days. I normally feel sick after eating carbonara but because the portion here was so small, I felt absolutely fine. In fact, I could have had a few more bites - but this left just the right amount of tummy space for DESSERTS! Ordered a "pot of chocolate" and tiramisu. I wouldn't say that these were particularly impressive desserts but somehow they did the job of rounding the meal up just fine. Again the small portions of desserts meant feeling easy even after finishing the whole pot of whipped cream on chocolate & caramel.

Generally a good casual eat. Can probably stop by for a small bite even when I'm not hungry

我星期三個日打電話去訂位, 諗住同朋友慶祝生日, 要今日6:30pm那輪, 接電話個女仔話ok. 我尋晚諗住穩陣d, 打電話去reconfirm, 點知接電話個女仔話她依家唔得閒, 唔可以覆我 , 我再次要求, 個女仔先話15分鐘後覆我. 我等極無人覆, 就打電話去, 點知無人聽我今日打電話去, 接聽個男人話無booking, 我叫他落booking, 他用極差既語氣話"依家無台呀ma", 又寸寸貢gum話"你可以黎walkin ge"都唔明booking gum 簡單既事攪到gum, 態度又勁衰, 我以後都唔會去!!!!!

My friend and I did not have a booking but we decided to try our luck at SML anyway to see if we can get a table. We arrived at around 8:30pm and waited patiently in front of the host. However the host did not look up from her book to address us for at least 3 minutes. I understand that she was very busy but thought she could have at least said hello and asked us to wait instead of ignoring us. I finally got fed up and asked if they had a table available. She told us they only had seats at

We arrived at around 8:30pm and waited patiently in front of the host. However the host did not look up from her book to address us for at least 3 minutes. I understand that she was very busy but thought she could have at least said hello and asked us to wait instead of ignoring us. I finally got fed up and asked if they had a table available. She told us they only had seats at the bar and we took it anyway.

When we got inside, we realized the bar was very cramped, but luckily the guy waiter offered us a low lounge table by the bar area.

We ordered Salmon tata, Octopus Salad, Baked Macaroni, linguini with uni and pork pizzola to share. The salmon tata was fine and it was fun to pick and choose what ingredients you want to mix into it. The octopus salad had a lot of potato and very little octopus. I though the backed macaroni was under salted, so it just tasted of cream. The first 3 dishes came out very fast but then we waited 45 mins and had to remind our waiter that we were still waiting for food before the last 2 dishes came out. The linquini with uni was very sweet for some reason and too sweet for my taste. The pork pizzola was basically a piece of pork with tomato sauce and cheese. It tasted ok but not great. At this point we were still hungry so we ordered a cod, hanger steak and shrimp toast on the waiters recommendation. The steak was cold, the cod was tiny and the shrip toast was oily.

Overall, think the food at SML is ok only. I think they pre-cook many of the dishes and that's why the dishes are either lukewarm or cold by the time they arrive. Also given think it's very difficult for the Kitchen to maintain quality given they have to turn out so many dishes.

It was fun to try the restaurant for novalty factor but not sure if I would go back because the quality of the food was sub-par.

今日餐晚飯真係好激氣!訂咗四位!本人跟另一朋友準時到達!入到裡面才知道安排坐位是一張二十二人長枱的一邊。向一位外藉女經理說明為什麼訂枱時沒有提及要坐長枱,所以要求更換一張四人枱。她也試圖去安排,找到一張,但要九十分鐘後交枱。她也強調我們旁邊的訂枱要過多四、五+分鐘才到,大部份時間不會太影响我們,所以最後都沒有換到,因為也怕時間太趕。食到一個小時左右,突然有另一位本地女主任跟我們說要求我們搬到另一張長枱,因為旁邊訂枱的人數是包括我們所坐的位置。那刻即時反彈,有點激動,沒有立刻回應,叫她十分鐘後回來。經大家相議之後,決定埋單走人。其中原因是旁邊訂枱的客人已經到了,所以也不想影嚮他們。不過,相信我們都不會再去;還有透過這網站去驚惕各食客。講番食物,總體來說食物一般;法飽銀魚蛋黄醬:超咸牛肉carpaccio:薄牛肉沒有什麽味道三文魚它它:味道不錯,但有點辣白汁煙肉意粉:點了個中牌,但最多兩個人分享牛尾意大利飯:味道不錯,牛尾肉有點霉燒牛腹:一種生熟道冇得揀,醬汁特別

近期其中大熱食肆,地鐵、雜誌大賣廣告,我就覺得是廣告效應大過食物質素,不過,都Ok,但不算好好白酒(m) $56 份量超少凍檸茶。黑松露虾多士(s) $36 油大多,但好脆、味道OK三文魚他他(s) $32 幾新鮮,配料幾多,好味烤豬腩肉配紫椰菜蘋果沙律(s) $41 豬腩肉烤得較乾,底層瘦肉好乾硬,沙律普通。整體不算太好食肉醬千層麵(s) $41 芝士焗得好香,味道都好好,但美中不足是千層麵有少部份乾硬我覺得可能是焗定,到客人叫就好快到,所以放在焗爐內會令麵質變乾。鵝肝伴秘制雞肉配松露沙律(m) $78上枱時都幾特別,但無論是鵝肝、雞肉都好乾身,好淡、肉汁欠奉,所以再配麵包食就乾上加乾,這個不好食凍意式奶凍伴西柚橙肉(s) $20 奶凍略甜,檸檬味偏淡。朱古力慕斯(s) $25 一樣略甜,特別是放在慕斯上的朱古力拖肥都好甜,慕斯都算幼滑Summary:其實我覺得視覺享大過味覺享受。環境都幾好,裝修簡潔。值得讚之處是食物份量可按個人所需選擇S、M、L,有新意。如果你有訂枱的話,他會一日打2次來提你。

Nice clean ambience and decor. Highly recommended dishes:

reasons - obviously they're frozen prawns but tasted perfectly fresh. a real bargain as there were 5 prawns in a small portion. it was also served with a slice of baguette so u can dip deep into the hot olive oil infused with prefried chilli and garlic.
4) cheese macaroni (S-$38)
reasons - reminded me of the old school days... great cheese and baked to a perfect brown. just wish they put more cheese on the top XD
5) linguine with clams (M-$85)
reasons - although i didn't try it but the clams looked fresh and BIG enough. the linguine should be al dente too (at least, my friend had no complaint). simple and nice choice...

The restaurant will certainly draw a larger crowd if the dessert menu includes more and yummier choices.

Noticed that they've a patio too. Will try when weather allows...

首先, 帶位小姐一句話都冇講啦.
佢只係轉身, got the menus, then started walking.
其間, 佢冇叫我地follow佢喎... 下... 乜野service黎架?

我個friend行得較快, 我見到佢同個去帶位小姐到長臺既中間停低,
我仲有5, 6步就行到去, 不過我心諗:
"冇可能同個friend排排坐架嘛, 咁對面俾邊個坐. blind date咩架下... 更何況其他2個人既食客都打對面坐..."
所以我立刻掉頭, 行到我個friend對面, 諗住坐低.
係呢個時候, 帶位小姐 (終於) 開口: "你地不如排排坐..." 下?
首先, 呢間餐廳已經開始有好多位, plus你一開始又唔講!
我冇理佢, 照坐低. 佢咁就講: "好, 無問題."

好啦, 睇menu, 落order. 咁岩叫正個部長. 哈, 黑面既. 服務態度... well...

叫水咩, d waiter又只會低頭行路...
同埋水有分好多種 (有氣礦泉水, 冇氣礦泉水, 同tap water). 唔好俾佢屈到你$$~
好啦... 5分鐘之後, 有個waiter行過黎, 講野勁細聲, 我差d miss哂佢講既野.
所以我個friend係completely聽唔到佢講野.
呢位哥哥講: "我地廚房9:30pm last order. 請問仲有冇野叫?"

唔係下話... 我坐低15分鐘都冇... 就last order?!

我個friend 問: "咁係咪要落埋甜品啊而家?"
呢個waiter竟然講 (with一個唔好老脾既tone): "咁梗係啦!"
嘩! 你乜野態度呢而家? 我逢旨要知個答案, 我知就唔使問你啦.
激死我!

好啦, 叫齊所有野, 安心等上菜啦.
d菜激快上! 一個接住一個.
1. small salmon tartare ($32): 普通. small既話, 真係好small. 不過其中一個配料好辣 (因為我地mix哂所有配料~ 唔識食嘛~). 小心! 可以唔使試~
2. small ceasar salad ($26): d菜好fresh! 不過唔甜~ 唔係季節? 不過cheese相對地ok多喎~ 可以試試~ 叫個中既, 都應該唔會好大碟~
3. small pork belly ($41): 鬼佬版燒肉. 肥到你丫... 加碗白飯就係一個燒味鋪買到既燒肉飯. 有d燒焦. 唔多好味. 唔建議. btw, 好貴. 唔抵!!!
4. medium spaghetti carbonara ($73): 我叫個中既, 諗住細極有限... 點知, 只需要4啖就食完! 我講真架! 冇花冇假! 你試下4啖食完一個$73既意粉... 貴到丫... 一萬個唔抵! 不過幾好味喎~ 好creamy好好味~
但真係好貴!!!

5. medium lasagna ($76): 個size ok既~ 可以接受. 不過個price唔得! 好貴! 同一個價錢已經可以食個extra large! 不過好好味~ 我就認為佢好似仲差左dd甜酸 (即茄汁~). 加返d, 會好味d~


當我just finished我d main courses, 另一個waiter已經急不及待同我講: "可以上甜品喇呵?"
下? 係呢個moment, 其實係9:45pm. 嘩! 使唔使咁急啊?

我都只不過食左25分鐘都冇...
仲快過茶餐廳.

好, 上甜品囉~
6. medium chocolate pot ($48): 好味! 不過佢話有慕絲同埋fudge... 佢d所謂既fudge係d chocolate cubes. 下?! 唔得喎. 不過d慕絲好味! 值得recommend!

7. small profiteroles ($18): 得1個~ 1個就$18?! omg. 唔好去搶! 好普通. 同埋唔知叫medium係有2個, 定係enlarge版呢~


係呢個時候, 成間餐廳得返2成人, 但佢又冇趕我地喇喎.
我同個friend傾下計, 笑下... 約10:30pm埋單.
呢個時候, 個service忽然好好. 好好笑容.
另一個waiter又同我地chitchat, 問下d野食點...

btw, 去女廁個時小心d. 因為一推開門, 隔離就有級樓梯. 我差d仆死. 唔係講笑.
級樓梯好突然架...

then我地走個時, 又會有waiter幫我地拉開d chairs, 又會大大聲say goodbye & thank you...
好奇怪. 到最後先至咁好service... 有d嚇親.

general comment:
一日唔improve service同改改個price, 一日都唔會再去.

早陣子在報紙看到在times sqaure的新店,概念非常蔪新!想不到時代廣場的食通天,這陣子起了翻天覆地的變化。除了加入了西打的愛店不倒翁,還加了一家打著變革旗號的新店SML。名字叫作SML,不囉唆,就是所有菜式都分為SML size,大中小號。縱然是主菜的牛排,也可以點小號,變成前菜。還是兩個人,都點小號的菜式,變成一頓tasting meal!西打急不及待就要去造訪一次!除了SML之外,這店另一特點就是有像Harry Potter的長桌。炸魷魚圈拌香蒜辣味醬 (S)炸魷魚圈還不錯吃,香酥煙韌。其中那個醬才精彩!柔滑同時帶著奶香,細吃還有蒜和和點點辣味。非常有層次!橄欖油海膽油扁意大利麵 (S)這種麵條跟一般的意大利麵有分別耶!味道很清新!很簡單的味道,搭著海膽的鮮甜甘香,很特別的一道菜!像fusion一樣!西打三扒兩撥便把這盤意大利麵吃光光!真好,份量剛剛好!焗肉醬千層麵 (M)很不錯的千層麵,不會因為烤焗過時變得糊掉,肉醬酸甜度也剛好。最難得是cheese非常香,這陣子西打好怕吃到像橡皮筋一樣的cheese。香草泡芙配焦糖醬西打超愛吃泡芙,尤其是中間藏著奶油,入口就是幸福的感覺

炸魷魚圈拌香蒜辣味醬 (S)
炸魷魚圈還不錯吃,香酥煙韌。其中那個醬才精彩!柔滑同時帶著奶香,細吃還有蒜和和點點辣味。非常有層次!

橄欖油海膽油扁意大利麵 (S)
這種麵條跟一般的意大利麵有分別耶!味道很清新!很簡單的味道,搭著海膽的鮮甜甘香,很特別的一道菜!像fusion一樣!西打三扒兩撥便把這盤意大利麵吃光光!真好,份量剛剛好!

焗肉醬千層麵 (M)
很不錯的千層麵,不會因為烤焗過時變得糊掉,肉醬酸甜度也剛好。最難得是cheese非常香,這陣子西打好怕吃到像橡皮筋一樣的cheese。

香草泡芙配焦糖醬
西打超愛吃泡芙,尤其是中間藏著奶油,入口就是幸福的感覺。底下的焦糖醬也深得路人甲的歡心。

巧克力慕斯
一個小瓶的送上來,非常可愛!最頂的是兩顆硬硬的chocolate brownie,非常濃烈的巧克力,甘香帶丁點苦味。中層是像雪花一樣柔滑的慕絲,最底還有蛋糕。路人甲愛死了這個甜品

總計:HK$24X

西打對這種SML的設計非常鍾愛,就像嚐鮮一樣,菜式都可以點小號,幾口就吃光。不過勸大家要訂位,不然位置真的會黑到甚麼也看不到!

Having lived in London for years, I have always wondered why there isn't a place like Wagamama in Hong Kong and I was very glad to see SML built upon W's concept and came up with something even better - which catered to HK people's "want to try it all" mentality. Our dinner started with an excellent strawberry bellini - it's hard to find reasonably priced cocktails in Hong Kong and the bellini was excellent (and didn't cost and arm and a leg!). Our dinner started with an excellent strawberry bellini - it's hard to find reasonably priced cocktails in Hong Kong and the bellini was excellent (and didn't cost and arm and a leg!). We then had a lemonade mojito (lots of rum = yum) and a strawbery capirihina (so-so).

For starters, we had a Caesar's salad, which was uninspiring and the truffled prawn on toast, which was yummy but didn't have a hint of truffle. For main course, we had the sea urchin linguinie, which was delishhh
and definitely the highlight of the evening. We also had the mushroom risotto which was cooked to the perfect texture. Desserts were pretty standard and we went with the profiteroles, which came with yummy butterscotch.

The decor was hip, with a mix of large communal table and small private tables. It's also refreshing to find a hip and non-chain place in Times Square. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and it had a nice outdoor area, which should be nice when the weather is a little cooler.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable meal and I hope to go there again soon.

-經侍應介紹,叫咗呢個
-個意粉真喺有彈性,又夠咬口,啱晒我嘅要求
-好似從個鹽水中撈番上嚟,所以微濕潤之餘,亦有點鹹意,不過友人略嫌鹹咗少少,但我就覺得可以接受
-配以肉粒同菇粒,不過pappardelle喺全碟嘅主角,搶不了

-滑是滑,那膠性也不重手
-充滿橙味嘅sauce,為平常嘅奶凍增添1份特色

-個cream好滑,也不甜
-不過略嫌個焦糖汁煮得過"杰"了1點

-都幾濃朱古力味,又有朱古力fudge蛋糕

-面舖滿了新鮮菠蘿粒同椰汁糕切粒

-可以,不過無嘜特別

* 店內簡約嘅環境

* 呢間餐廳嘅特色喺每碟菜都分細,中,大3個size,所以店名都叫s(small)m(medium)l(large)。不過細嘅size真喺幾細.......但咁樣我哋4個人就可以掃咗好多款(甜品部份就攻下了2/3呢~~~hehe).........滿足到我喜歡試菜嘅性格

Yes, I agree that dining on a shared communal table in a western restaurant in HK is a novel concept, but it's also a common practice in university dining halls and even prisons! I don't think any students or prisoners have ever left their institutions with remorse of not able to eat meals on a long rectangular table with strangers again. Besides, the concept is a superficial novelty that wears off the minute your orders has arrived. Then, your sub-conscious mind kicks into territorial mode as you constantly try to keep the food within arms length and away from surrounding strangers.
Come to think of it, don't most HK workers already eat meals on shared communal tables five days a week during their short lunch hour. The only difference is the tables are round...
As this was our first visit to SML, I perused the comments on this website and ordered similar items to eat. Three words sum up the food: Lack Quantity and Lukewarm. To simply elaborate, the food selection on the menu is limited and lackluster even compared to other average western restaurants in HK. Generosity is probably not a vocabulary word known to the chiefs as the food quantity were laughable, even when we ordered some dishes that were medium-sized. The food that we ordered that was supposed to be hot were served to us lukewarm.
Now, let's me talk about the waiters. I know SML opened for less than a month, and with additional training on the unique dining arrangements, the waiters should be more knowledgeable. But what I saw and experienced was that the waiters were somewhat lost and clueless as to which order goes to which guests. Or even to which communal table. We were twice interrupted and given incorrect orders, with one such order that I observed ended up going to diners sitting at a different table altogether. Maybe, that's why our food was lukewarm as the waiter had to walk around with it asking different guests until finally locating us.
In summary, I do not recommend eating at SML; there are numerous better choices of western restaurant around HK, even some located in Times Square itself.
