3-minute quick pizza is the gimmick of this new restaurant. The stone oven 'fries' the 9-inch pizza in 6 different standard flavors all day long, and personal creation is also welcomed by the Custom Pizza choice. Stone-oven-made pizza is not something very special, but in 3 minutes, would be a quite good point for most of the city people, who's always chasing their time or being chased by the time. It would be a perfect selling-point for a take-way business in my personal opinion, and the price for 9-inch one ranges from $68 to $88 is reasonable. I consider The Point as a good & efficient choice during busy weekdays.

As my taste, I won't give a high mark to the pizza paste/dough as this fast-fried style. Reason 1, looks too oily; Reason 2, it is something in the middle, as an combination of thin paste of Italian pizza and thick/flour-doughy-feel American one. While as my fellows at the table, they gave the higher appreciation to the one they tried before I arrived that night, Roman (Parma Ham, Sliced Fig, Arugula - Special Pizza 11'').

Vongole (Clams, Chili, White Wine) $128

Spaghetti/Linguini/Penne is offered as Pasta Selection, which are 3 normal and popular items among Asians (remind me some interesting idea of Lunch Box), but not with my favorite Fettuccine


As I was late from work, I didn't try Cabonara (Cream, Egg, Pancetta) and Pescatora (Mixed Seafood, Herbed Tomato Sauce) but I ordered Vongole. It had a mild but fragrant sense of garlic with a mild-strong flavor of wine caught by the open clams, which are the best part of this pasta dish; it was much oily than I expect but was still kept within an acceptable range; it's a big shame that I didn't have too much impression on the pasta, but it is not bad as my weak memory, but of course I won't expect it with the expertise standard.

Fish (Salmon, Stove Oven Roasted on Wood Plank) $148

Chicken, Fish and Steak are offered under Main Course category. The fish was in a good presentation while I would like to take out the sauce with this dish and give more peppers on top to refine its looking. The crispy fish skin was not welcomed by everyone due to the personal preference; the fish-meat was a little over-grilled to rob its tenderness, but basically it's soft taste. I like the grilled vegetable and mushroom under the fish which were very fresh and flavorful.

We tried two chocolate which were mostly representing the average performance how a restaurant can offer when it is dealing with desserts. Cheesecake, to be honest, is definitely not what I expect to an Italian style; it tasted not much like cheesecake, but something like pudding, like jelly (actually I'm not sure what the texture is...); the baked top layer successfully gave the extra 'warm' baking fragrance but it was not kept too long coz of the blueberry stripe which tasted too strong and a bit fake.

Coffee as an international culture, is also one of the signature of Italian eat & drink culture. I was highly recommended to try any type of their coffee for the special imported coffee beans from Laos. When I am writing this blog, I just recognize Flat White is not on the menu... (another shame on me!) Well, I appreciate they make one cup for me, and they did a good job! The coffee was correctly made as a cup of Flat White instead of Latte; and Lao's coffee beans gave a very mild & middle taste, very smooth and light, not sour, nor bitterly strong, which I believe it has high acceptance to the less or non-coffee drinkers.

輕咬一口,pizza餅皮是薄薄的,質感是偏脆身的那種,韌性較低,先試的那塊pizza是較多蛋黄漿的一塊,咬下先是滿濃的蛋黄氣,再來是洽如其分的Mozzarella cheese, 薄薄地伏在餅底上高,帶來淡淡的芝士咸香,最後則以經caramellzed的洋蔥,白汁及mushroom帶來的juicy及香甜作結。

咬一口,餅底如咸的一樣香脆, Mozzarella片不見了,換來的則是滿重澱粉的香蕉片,經烘烤過的香蕉片除creamy外,更帶來一種獨有的焦糖甜氣,加上半溶的綿花糖及冰凍的雪糕球,冷熱交溶,吃下如甜食的烘多士,香蕉,朱古力和麵包的配搭,你們懂的。
忽發奇想,下次bbq買些香蕉及朱古力醬,夾著燒綿花糖,應該效果也很好哦。
小結,the point位於登龍街一角,店舖裝潢精緻,價錢公道合理,最妙之處在於食物以“快”為主打,附近多是office,能滿足打工一族的“快”吃文化,食物味道雖又未至於會令人有很大很大的驚喜,但已屬於中上,性價比高。假如在附近上班的孩子們,也不防擇日到the point試試。

The Point以價錢而論,食物質素已算不錯的,口味偏向輕巧和清淡。店子開業不久,生意似乎不錯, 位置好是其一,也因為這條街的拉麵店有點兒過多了,只要堅持水準,說不定可以把客人分流過來。

Tung Lung Street in Causeway Bay has evolved so much in the past year turning from a desolate street with local joints to a vibrant alley occupied by international restaurants in the Midtown Soundwill Plaza and Japanese ramen shops! Some of the familiar faces are still there like my favorite cart noodle place Sun Kee but I will miss be able to sit outside eating Chiu Chow food while cars whiz by on the street.

The latest contender on this street is The POINT which is a casual cafe that specializes in pizzas which can be cooked in 3 minutes with a 300°C stone oven! The location is fairly easy to find considering that it is right on the corner where the mini bus to Stanley is located. The decor was bright, smart and modern with high chairs and tables in the middle along with an open kitchen where you can see the action of the stone pizza oven.

I almost did a double take the other day when I saw this restaurant as I didn't even notice that the old hot pot restaurant was gone already! Hong Kong is really fast with its construction sometimes.

Besides pizzas, the restaurant also serve salads, pastas and main dishes.

Margherita ($128) - with burrata mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil and tomato sauce. The pizzas served here are thin crust style with a crunchy base and emphasis on toppings. Those looking for more flavorful and chewy crusts may be disappointed, but overall the pizzas were well-made here with fresh and flavorful toppings.

Forest ($118) - with wild mushrooms, sliced potatoes, roasted garlic, arugula and truffle cream. This was my favorite pizza as it was very aromatic while the flavor combos really worked here. I especially love the roasted garlic cloves where were so yummy to eat!

Fish ($148) - salmon cooked via stone oven roasted on wood plank. The salmon surpassed my expectations as it was well cooked with a flaky texture while nicely seasoned. Would have been nicer if it had a more acidic agent like lemon juice on it for example.

Chicken ($168) - roasted French spring chicken with rosemary. For the price, the quality of this dish was fantastic as the chicken was very moist and succulent with subtle flavors. I wasn't so hot on the accompanying black pepper sauce though as it reminded me of the sauce you get at HK style cafes which kind of cheapens the flavors of this dish.

Onto my favorite part of the meal - desserts! We were lucky that we got to try this roasted banana and marshmallow pizza with vanilla ice cream and chocolate & caramel sauce ($68) which is usually available from 2:30-6pm as part of the afternoon tea menu. Holy smokes it was like eating a banana split, s'mores and pizza all at the same time! This was just genius!

Chocolate Lava ($58) - molten cake with gelato. The molten cake was a bit disappointing though as the chocolate wasn't as flowing as I'd like it to be while the cake can be fluffier. I'd also prefer the use of ice cream to gelato as well as I think the richness of the ice cream would balance the thick textures of the chocolate better.

Verdict - for the price, the value for money and quality is definitely high at The POINT while the variety of options on the menu will appeal to the crowds. I'd definitely be back for the roasted banana and marshmallow pizza!

此店的一大特色,是所有Pizza 都經極高溫的炭爐,在3分鐘內焗製而成。

我們分享了3款Pizza,分別為Margherita、Roman和Forest。小妹蠻喜歡這Pizza的餅底,邊位香脆,中央口感似餅乾但又帶點煙韌,比Pizza Express 的更實在;小妹最愛Margherita($128),因其澎湃而帶焦香的Mozzarella芝士,配偏酸一點的茄醬很開胃;Roman ($138)以甜美清新的無花果肉配著咸香的Parma Ham,還有我喜歡的Rocket,味道配搭簡單不造作;略嫌包含野菌、松露醬和濃香烤蒜頭的Forest($118)味道有點錯亂複習,芝士也太多,感覺有點膩滯。

意粉方面,小妹最喜歡Vongole($128),因其蜆肉鮮甜得很,煮得剛好熟,而意粉帶陣陣酒香,適量蒜片和辣椒碎則使其更惹味,整體很出色。

Chocolate Lava ($68)朱味濃得很,蛋糕鬆軟但外層卻帶點微脆,吃得我們真滋味。

除兩款Pasta較失色以外,其他菜式水準不錯,價錢也很合理。吃過美味的意菜後,又是時候想辦法把卡路里燃燒掉了⋯

下午茶4時多, 有4-5枱食客, 環境寛敞感覺也算休閒. 只是落地玻璃外剛巧是小巴站, 難免會有漫無目的的眼晴掃過來, 有點兒怪怪的.

餐牌的食品都頗單一化, 就是幾款Pizza, 幾款Pasta, 幾款Salad, 另外就是咖啡, 花茶, 飲品了, 所以沒有什麼機會讓人眼花瞭亂. 雖說有下午茶Set, 但其實只是把餐牌僅有的三款Pasta - Cappelini Funghi, Bolognes, Carbonara再加一杯飲品而已.

Cappelini Funghi ($68) - 不喜Carbonara, 又不想吃Bolognes太普通, 最後選了平時不是我杯茶的天使麵. 份量可算適量, 夠一個人份量, 微濕潤的麵條配以雞肉, 野菌和香草碎, 味道有點偏淡, 問侍應找來芝士粉加入後惹味得多.

餐飲要了Lemon Soda, 是原支的, 比預期酸, 卻也很Fresh.

說穿了, 本來想吃個平價茶餐, 結果走到這店子, 原是為手上那顆士多啤梨找個比較光鮮的環境拍照, 我這人也夠無聊了. 不過這顆小草莓價值等於一個下午茶餐, 但當然是自攜, 跟餐廳無關XD..

臨走前枱頭一看, 才驚覺自己連店名也沒弄清楚. 但天花那一連串光管會很高調的告訴你這店子叫什麼名字. 就在街尾轉角的那一個亮點, 或許不及Jamie's Kitchen 和新開的三田製麵所耀目, 卻是清新小品的選擇.

When I first moved to Hong Kong, Tung Lung Street was where the bars were. Where you could get cheap but good Thai very late at night. Late night claypot rice and dai pai dong atmosphere. Bars disappeared. And in it's place? Japanese sushi restaurants. Ramen joints. Quaint cafes. With the addition of Midtown, it's now geared to be an upscale area of Causeway Bay. An elderly man walked by while I was heading to this restaurant. He muttered that it's now all fancy and everything is gone. I nodded ... yeah. People complain about the beautification of Wanchai from what it once was, but no one mentions Tung Lung Street.

Sad? Pretty much.

The Point is the latest addition to moving away from the charms of the past to the glossing over for the future. It's on the corner, where the mini buses to Stanley are parked and a fairly large piece of property. Layout is clean and bright. Light wood tables and chairs with an open kitchen. Plenty of large windows to bring in light. It's spacious and relaxing. I really wanted to like this place. Until I ate the food. What they serve is basically pizza and pastas.

I arrived around 3 PM and saw they had an afternoon tea set menu written at the front of the restaurant on a blackboard. For $68, you can get a choice of three pastas (carbonara, pesto and bolognaise) with a drink (mocha, latte, cappucinno, hot tea, ice tea or soda). However, when I sat down, I was presented with a regular menu. There was no mention of the tea set. However, when I ordered, I mentioned the tea set and the waiter awknowledged it. I asked for a pesto pasta and I noted he wrote down funghi. Funghi is different than pesto and I noted that.  The waiter said that funghi is pesto. Um...no. So, I asked was it the funghi pasta with pesto sauce? The waiter said "um...no. It's funghi. Not pesto." Um...WHAT?? Then I asked for an ice lemon tea. The waiter said "I'm sorry, the afternoon tea set drink is only for latte, mocha or cappucinno." Um...no. Your menu OUTSIDE says that, ice tea, tea or soda. Waiter then walked outside, looked at the menu, came back and apologized and said "I guess someone changed the menu." Um...WHAT???

Pesto pasta did have various mushrooms as waiter had noted. It was also on angel hair pasta. Angel hair pasta was soggy and clumped together.

The thing that made me gag was the huge amount of olive oil at the bottom of the plate. The entire pasta was just oily and disgusting. It was just dripping in oil. I make pesto pasta a lot at home when I'm by myself. It's one of those easy to make dinners for one. I love to order this when I go out as well. But NEVER have I had pesto pasta where it was just one dripping oily mess.

Sad as I really wanted to like this place as the layout was beautiful. But the food was disgusting. Not enough for me to return.

本身約左女孩子們食 Littl_ V_gas,, 大概 6 點半朋友去到話攞位先,, 但 Reception 話要入就宜家入但要半數人定齊人宜家唔入就無,, 無奈我未收工,, 其他女孩子又未到....... 到左既又拎唔到位既唯有無奈落返街等大家既出現...正當我收工後見又唔趕就搭叮叮出 CWB.. 落車行去時代搵返個可憐蟲既途中經過登龍街... 我就突然醒起上個月尾係轉彎位開左間新餐廳,, 行過見裝修得靚又有 D PIZZA 味 SUM 入我個鼻,, 所以上次唔得閒食今次仲唔食你..~接埋條蟲就去擺位,, 要等 8 點半先有位,, 去買下野好快就到啦..~ 點知 8 點半鬆 D 其他女孩子都未到無半數人,, 張枱 HOLD 左幾分鐘我地都係無半數.. 張枱就拆開比左人啦........ 正當我地 2 個又煩要轉第 2 度食既時候,, 又有枱走左啦,, 問我地入唔入... 如是者其他人都係未到架........ 係驚心動魄驚又無左張枱急 CALL 中,, 終於見到身影進入直路最後 100 米,,好彩最終入到席啦..~個人黎講 1 向唔好食 SALAD,, 同 1 般 CAESAR 1

大家食左啖先有人問點解無辣肉腸既..? 原因好簡單,, LI 個並唔是我地嗌個個黎錯左 lor...... 但大家都已經咬左啖返唔到轉頭啦... 哈哈哈.. 不過都好食既,, 尤其我鍾意佢個皮薄得黎中間係煙 UN 唔 DRY 而邊位又夠脆..~
雖然我唔是咩食家,, 但整體黎講,, LI 1 間絕對係少數我食完會想再食既 1 間..! 同埋我覺得價錢同質素係宜家既香港黎講係比較合理,, 見裝修會覺得唔平起碼最平既都過 $100,, 但其實佢定價唔是太貴,, 同 1 般連鎖既價錢差唔多但好食 D LOR..!
题外话/补充资料: 1 開始入坐前到中途覺得態度有好既亦既有唔好既,, 但後來出錯 food 之後大廚拎左碟我地 order 左但食曬其他野都未上既比我地時,, 佢好 NICE 亦都同我地有講有笑,, 亦話左佢地 PASTA 既秘密比我 LI 個從未食過新鮮 HAND MADE PASTA 以為係既人聽,, 哈..~ 要知道食野如果氣氛唔好係好影響 1 切,, 好食都唔會同 FD 講叫佢去試..! 佢挽救左 1 切,, 哈..!

Menu主打Pizza同Pasta,又有D幾吸引的Side Orders。望下隔離都吃Chicken lollipops,所以叫了Daily Soup,Chicken Lollipops, 兩款Pizza,包括Carnivore同Parma Ham,Salad,同Roast French Chicken和Linguini Vongole。由叫了Pellegrino的橙味汽水和Capuccino。
咖啡先到,有瀧瀧的咖啡味,比平常連鎖店的味道特出,Waiter同我們講這個是有名的東南亞Bolaven咖啡。
Pizza很快就上,賣相非常好,尤其是Roman(就是Parma Ham加Figs)。特點是他們的焗爐是用高溫的,所以Pizza出來比正常快和溫度更熱。Fig好新鮮,加上Parma Ham和芝士的混合,Pizza是薄底的,不會太多麵粉,份量岩岩好,食入口唔會好漏,不錯!

Vongole意粉也值得一提。Clams好大好鮮甜,看得出他們是用料豐富的。意粉有彈性,個portion都幾大份,煮得剛剛好,彈牙得來又不會像吃鋼線,我們幾個都覺得滿意。

最後的Main Dish烤法國春雞,也是真材實料。這碟菜不大,waiter解釋是雞种的緣故。雞肉香滑有雞味,火候剛剛好,一點也不鞋。一定要點D汁,讓雞肉更加容易入口。法國雞果然跟美國雞不一樣。

Waiter 過來介紹Dessert,推薦Dessert Pizza。既然來試pizza,就試到底吧!好有驚喜!香脆的餅底上凃上薄薄的一層cream cheese,烤熟了的香蕉及金黃溶化的棉花糖,加上焦糖及朱古力漿和云呢拉雪糕──原來餐廳正準備把多款 dessert pizza加入他們的teatime menu!看來下次要同太太嘆high tea又多一個選擇了!

剛看完滋味行,感覺這小店極似節目中在清潭洞的一間有型輕鬆西餐廳,故頭也不回地走進内試試這間新開主打Pizza及Pasta的小店。先到收銀處落單,拿號碼,再找位坐,食物會由侍應送上。我們點了小食lollipop chicken及芝士薯條,兩者上枱時仍熱辣辣,lollipop chicken最啱懶人,拿着雞骨尾端,便可整球雞肉吃下,肉質算嫩,外皮酥香,粉下得薄,再加上黑椒BBQ醬,是一人可吃十件那種,不過一客只有四件!薯條也是佳作,連半熔芝士拉絲而吃,偶而也吃到黑松露碎,滋味非常。跟食物可以$16换原價$20的飲品如果汁,檸檬茶或意大利果汁梳打,可即刻下下火。Pizza雖然標榜三分鐘以明火爐極速製成,但可不是上菜時間哩!等了半小時,一塊薄身邊皮有微焦的pizza終於上埸,我們點了個有蕃茄醬,芝士,磨菇及温泉蛋的pizza,混合蛋黄漿,加上脆脆的餅底及煙韌芝士,熱烘烘的吃,跟本無得輸,而且此店的pizza麵粉香很出,又做得薄身,吃完兩片也不覺太滯。唯一要改善的是蕃茄醬的份量需增多少許,鮮美度也應提升。較為失色的是肉醬意粉,肉醬吃得到粒粒的肉,調味也中規中矩,portion不少,亦灑下芝士片,

先到收銀處落單,拿號碼,再找位坐,食物會由侍應送上。我們點了小食lollipop chicken及芝士薯條,兩者上枱時仍熱辣辣,lollipop chicken最啱懶人,拿着雞骨尾端,便可整球雞肉吃下,肉質算嫩,外皮酥香,粉下得薄,再加上黑椒BBQ醬,是一人可吃十件那種,不過一客只有四件!

薯條也是佳作,連半熔芝士拉絲而吃,偶而也吃到黑松露碎,滋味非常。跟食物可以$16换原價$20的飲品如果汁,檸檬茶或意大利果汁梳打,可即刻下下火。

Pizza雖然標榜三分鐘以明火爐極速製成,但可不是上菜時間哩!等了半小時,一塊薄身邊皮有微焦的pizza終於上埸,我們點了個有蕃茄醬,芝士,磨菇及温泉蛋的pizza,混合蛋黄漿,加上脆脆的餅底及煙韌芝士,熱烘烘的吃,跟本無得輸,而且此店的pizza麵粉香很出,又做得薄身,吃完兩片也不覺太滯。唯一要改善的是蕃茄醬的份量需增多少許,鮮美度也應提升。

較為失色的是肉醬意粉,肉醬吃得到粒粒的肉,調味也中規中矩,portion不少,亦灑下芝士片,出事的是意粉,完全吃不出煙韌或爽滑的質感,入口是溶溶的粉狀感,真的要找出辦法來,不然可參考意粉屋或Sogo UCC的出品便可!

整體來說,這店是值得再光顧的,一班友好,吃吃小食pizza,再飲些東西,也只需百多元,實屬物有所值。
题外话/补充资料: 洗手間極之乾淨,值得一讚!
