We visited Shika Teppan-yaki on a nice Monday night, and the place was rather packed, and rightfully so because it serves up very delicious food! The best thing about Teppan-yaki is that you can watch the chef prepare the food right in front of you and you can smell it before savouring it. The first beautifully plated dish is lobster with sea urchin sauce, decorated with colourful flowers. The meat is tender and juicy.
The second photo features lotus root, which was another artfully plated dish.
Next we have the toothfish with sweet soy sauce. Originating from the Antarctic Ocean, it’s on the richer, fattier side. It’s garnished with crispy fish skin on top. I loved the sauce as it really brought out the fresh flavour in the fish.
Then we have the Kumamoto’s A5 Wagyu, placed on top of healthy kale and served with wasabi.
And near the end there’s some fried rice, also fried in front of you, for comfort food.
The night ended with a selection of desserts. I got yuzu gelato and matcha gelato, which tasted light and refreshing after a filling meal.
