I feel the need to share with you one of my favourite lunch spots in Central!

Tango Argentinian Steakhouse is run by the Dining Concepts restaurant group, which also brought to us many favourites including Bistecca, Cecconi’s, and the newly-opened Lupa.

Tango, as its name suggests, serves Argentinian and Latin American food. I don’t know much about Argentinian cuisine, but I could assure you that Tango definitely takes their steak seriously!

Set lunch is $268 for 2 courses with the 10-oz Hanger Steak for the main course, and $118 for 2 courses without the steak. The best thing about Tango is that even though the food is absolutely fantastic, its location on the first floor of a building on Wyndham Street (which is far for most people working in Central) means that you could almost always walk in and find a table without reservation.

This Mixed Ceviche with Citrus Dressing is my all-time favourite appetiser. The salmon was chunky, fresh and delicious, and the avocado was a fantastic match with the raw fish. The portion was not small at all, which suited carnivores like myself and my friends.

An empanada is a stuffed bread or pastry, which can be baked or fried, and the name comes from the Spanish verb empanar, which means to wrap or coat in bread. The Traditional Beef Sirloin Empanada comprised of marinated beef wrapped in a fried pastry. I found it quite heavy as the beef was strongly seasoned and the whole pastry was deep fried, but my guy friend S seemed to love it. (Unfortunately, we dug into it before taking a photo…these things happen!)

The Charred Calamari with Mixed Salad and Garlic Aioli was beautifully char-grilled and was gorgeously full of flavours! Also, it comes with a large, hearty mixed salad so you could tell yourself that it is very healthy...

When you go to Tango, you will be able tell when they are preparing your piece of 10 oz Fire Grilled Hanger Steak, as it is cooked over an open fire grill in the restaurant and the aroma immediately fills the restaurant! The steak is then brought to you on a giant block of wood, and comes with a selection of mustards to choose from. My personal favourite is the dijon mustard.

Considering that Tango does their steak so fabulously, I decided to try their other beef option, the 200 grs (7oz) Hamburger, Provolone Cheese, Ham and Chips, but it turned out to be quite average. The ham had too much fat and the combination of ham, burger steak and cheese was too greasy. For a simple, wholesome burger at lunch, I would recommend SimplyLife (IFC)! I also tried the Spaghetti with Mushroom Sauce but was not too impressed.

Conclusion: I adore the food and the steak at Tango, so the “trek” up to Wyndham Street during lunch hour is definitely worth it!

Took my date there on a Friday night, she's had a rough week at work.I suggest booking 2 days in advance because the tables get booked pretty early on. I booked one day ahead could only get a table for 6:30-8:30pm.I prefer those high tables along the window to get your own secluded area with a nice view of the traffic (pedestrian traffic too) on Wyndam/Hollywood Road.I highly recommend their "Gaucho platter" -- with one piece each of fillet, skirt steak, and rump steak (about 5 oz. each, cooked

I highly recommend their "Gaucho platter" -- with one piece each of fillet, skirt steak, and rump steak (about 5 oz. each, cooked). They come with 6 types of sauce and relishes.

Their blood sausage was also OK. Side dish portion is a bit small in my opinion (intended for one person).

With candle light on each table, the ambiance at this restaurant is just wonderful. Pricey (HK$400-500/pax.) but worth a try. Great service too.

This was my second time dining at Tango. The first time being on Christmas eve so it was a set dinner menu. I wasn't too thrilled with our dinner on Xmas eve but I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe the food was mediocre since it was Christmas eve and they were very busy. They called at 8pm and told me they have an earlier opening


When we arrived the restaurant wasn't even full, which had me wondering why they initially told me they had no table until 9pm.... hmmm...

We started our meal sharing the Palm hearts salad. The presentation was cute, they had a small jar on the side with dressing. But the dressing was very heavy and reminded me of thousand island. Not a fan! On the bottom of the tomatoes were avocado's.

onto my main, my friend and I both ordered the 8oz Filet. I ordered mine medium and my steak came out more medium well then medium. But I didn't bother sending it back. It was dry and chewy.. I did like the choice of dipping sauces they offered.

We also shared sides of brussels sprouts and green beans and grilled portobello mushrooms which were nothing special.

I have heard such good things about the steak here but sad to say I did not enjoy my steak at all. It's a cute restaurant and if someone were to choose to go there again I would return but not order steak.

一位老友記約食晏,小弟工作於中環,地點方面自然要就一就我,選址係雲咸街嘅Tango,都係以前有朋友推介過,突然想起,就不如去試吓。一向中環晌晏晝搵食都唔容易,通街都係人,所以,一早打定電話訂枱,以策萬全,不過都係多餘,1:00pm嚟到都仲有大把位,概略一數都只係6乘滿,比起雲咸街其他樓下鋪,就有點差距。訂枱時已要求坐窗口位,因為敞大嘅窗口,對住成條雲咸街,景觀非常開揚。其實,餐廳本身都幾有格調,一室木地板、木枱、木椅,牆上畫有假磚牆,加上一啲南美風格嘅油畫。大廳係一般餐枱高矮,但靠窗一排枱凳就係高腳嘅,女士坐可能無咁方便,我哋兩個男士梗係無問題啦。睇過佢啲食評,都知道夜晚嚟食都會幾貴,而食晏就會經濟一啲。一般午餐,兩道菜,前菜加主菜,另包汽水1杯,價錢係$118+10%;而仲有一個牛扒午餐(Gaucho Lunch),前菜加阿根廷10oz碳燒肉眼扒伴沙律或薯條,另包汽水1杯,價錢要成$268+10%。其實以雲咸街一帶計,兩至三道菜嘅一個午餐多數都係賣緊$90-$100左近,依度食晏唔算好貴。只係以個人嚟講,雖話中環食嘢普遍貴啲,但使成$150食個晏,感覺總有點唔慣,一來平時公司包伙食,

散叫唔多講,就一定貴啦,所以兩個人就要兩個一般午餐,較實惠。前菜5揀1,有湯、沙律、小食……等,而主菜同樣都係5揀1,有意粉、海鮮、燒雞胸……等,選擇都唔少;另加$30,可晌單點餐牌中任揀一款甜品,而甜品共有7款選擇,散叫價錢由$65-$98,所以,加$30就有嘅話,當然要試番款啦。由於老友唔太好甜品,我哋都只係叫一客共享就算!

前菜 – 羊奶芝士芝麻菜烘蒜蓉法包

大大件蒜蓉法包經碳火烤過,上面再放有一大片羊奶芝士,跟住加上芝麻菜、豆粒、香草碎,就成為依道前菜。法包既脆且軟,不過蒜蓉味唔太突出,相對就係羊奶芝士成為主角,烘過嘅羊奶芝士變得軟綿柔滑,味道濃郁得嚟唔會有羶味

前菜 – 甘筍甜粟紅洋蔥沙律
賣相幾得意,用一個小型煎盤盛載,沙律堆到高一高,其實份量都幾多吓。幾款簡單嘅材料,甘筍、甜粟、紅洋蔥,做出嚟個效果確係唔錯,重點似乎係個汁醬,因為個汁做得夠稠密,唔會稀淋淋,味道一酸酸甜,好清爽,令人感到越食越開胃

主菜 – 烤魷魚沙律伴蕃茄牛油果

雖然係一道沙律菜式,但份量頗大,所以成為咗一道主菜。墊底係大量沙律菜同蕃茄、牛油果,調味手法只係極簡單咁淋上橄欖油啫。在沙律菜上面,就係依道主菜嘅靈魂:烤魷魚,原隻大大件嘅魷魚,相貌帶有碳火嘅焦燶,好有原始風味

主菜 - 7oz 布旺倫芝士火腿漢堡

上枱之時,漢堡係半開放形式,即係上層嘅包身未冚埋,等你睇得到佢哋已經將個包輕輕「碳燒」烘過,不單止幫個包做咗啲「熱身」運動,亦令到食起嚟多點焦脆香

而餡料第一眼睇到嗰層,原來係芝士嚟,我仲以為係塊火腿。個層次應該係布旺倫芝士、火腿、牛肉,睇番直切面張相就清清楚楚架啦。
布旺倫芝士(provolone cheese)依個名,我都係事後上網查番出嚟先知係咁譯,平時接觸嘅多數都係巴馬臣芝士呀、莫撤利拉芝士、車打芝士……等等。布旺倫芝士源於意大利南部,雖然薄薄一片,但味道頗濃,帶有少許香草味。中間嘅火腿,起到鹹香調和嘅作用。最底層嘅牛肉,自不然係來自阿根廷啦,雖然唔知牛肉出自咩個部位,但肉味濃郁,做得鬆軟唔死實,又有肉汁,正

甜品 - 炸麵粉條伴朱古力醬

依個叫Churros con Chocolate,算係店中招牌甜品,散叫要成$65,不過份量唔知會唔會多啲。據說係西班牙人嘅早餐,亦流行於好多拉丁地區,但嚟到香港就成為咗一道甜品。成份好簡單:麵粉、牛油、雞蛋,做出嚟嘅效果質感有啲似食雞蛋仔,當然中間唔係空心啦,而且因為係油炸,外層香口同鬆脆啲,仲有因為炸條沾滿沙糖同肉桂粉,味道變得再豐富啲。如果嗜甜嘅人,更可蘸埋跟炸條同上嘅朱古力醬,甜味得以提昇,猶如腸粉沾上麻醬,相得益彰。記得第一次遇到這款炸麵粉條,係晌大阪環球影城嗰啲「車仔檔」,初見所以好奇,因為當時天氣比較凍,味道無咁好,而且又無跟咩醬。今次唔同喇,夠熱辣又伴有朱古力醬,正好多

Steak seems to be something that is very hard to find in HK, steak done properly anyway. Having read a few reviews I decided to give Tango a go, I had had a couple of verbal recommendations as well, some positive, some negative. But we wanted to go out for steak and thought an Argentinian Steakhouse should have some scope to get it right. Alas I was wrong.

Service was fine, no wait to be seated and barely had time to take a breath before we were asked about water - realized why when the bill came!

The menu is not extensive, a little disappointing given that relatively easy to put together most of the menu via the grill - even the steak choices were very limited.

We had the Empanadas (three on the menu, had one of each), they were quite nice, perhaps a little overcooked. The hand cut Sirloin one appeared to have been made by a first timer, or perhaps dropped before cooked, either way it was a very different shape to the other two. But they were on the whole ok. The entree plates were removed but we were left with the same cutlery.

As for mains, we ordered 2 Ribeyes ($338 each), 1 Rump ($278) and 1 Black Cod ($288). The Black Cod came well before the steaks, that meal was half consumed before the steaks arrived. Sauce was water, fish was small and overcooked. Poor value for money. The Rump was deemed ok but not special. The Ribeye was thick but on the whole disappointing, a lot of gristle in the meat and a lot of effort to cut through (contrast this with the Ribeye from Pacific Gourmet which you could cut with a butter knife - although that is cooked at home!). As other reviews note, they rub the meat with a salt based rub so quite salty, was ok, but no offer of cracked pepper. The six condiments that came with it were nothing special, the horseradish sauce appeared to be out of a jar, suspect they were all commercially supplied other than perhaps the salsa.

We had two sides, French Fries ($58) and Mushrooms ($58). The fries were Macca's style, could well have come from Macca's with a garlic butter perhaps drizzed over in the restaurant. Either way, not a $58 side. The mushroom dish had 2 mushrooms and 3 garlic cloves, a little under whelming for the price.

We had two desserts, Churros and the Leche Flan. The Churros were light and again a little overcooked. The Flan has been talked about in other reviews, whilst light it was nothing special, served with reduced condensed milk. Not authentic.

The wine list was quite extensive but the mark-up large even by HK standards, we fancied a Merlot but only 3 to choose, 2 from the US, one Argentinian, we gave the Argentinian a go and it was quite nice. Didn't have a beer but only two on the menu.

The service was attentive and the staff pleasant, the food was expensive and disappointing. I think many people in HK, those that have given Tango a positive review anyway, have not had an opportunity to have a truly decent steak, for them Tango may be acceptable but it will certainly disappoint others. I would not revisit.

今日去左參加一個活動黎左哩到....初初真係唔知係食咩國家ga菜...原來係阿根廷....good未試過...一出電梯...見到條路比較窄直見到招牌la...餐廳環境很好...感覺好舒適...第一個菜係一個批...味道適中....清清地...第2道...冷盤..沙律...用類有洋荵+生帶子+三文魚+一小許酸酸的汁..第3道..湯...南瓜湯...很好飲...比出面普通餐廳唔同...用料十足....第4道...主菜有2個的...一個係漢堡包..哩個好好食..好有肉汁...另外一個係煎雞肉...味道比較重...食濃味的人..會覺得好食...最後係甜品...都好好食...最愛係...同埋哩個批...有好多野仲未食過...下次再去過...^^

In general, there're two types of dining experience in Hong Kong.. First one is merely for enjoying food and you don't give a damn about the decor nor the service. The other type is a real sit down dinner where you gotta provide everything. I don't expect top-notch standard but at least the very fundamental element - respect, which even the aforementioned restaurants would be able to provide. Yet Tango clearly is incapable of understanding..

I've to first warn you that I can't give a very thorough review on their service coz I was unable to experience everything. Reason being we got too offended that we had to leave before ordering.

I made a reservation hours before arrival at the restaurant with my name and mobile no as usual booking requires. Normally, the tel no is registered for the purpose of the restaurant to follow up (re-confirm) the booking if necessary and as an identity to differentiate the booking from any booking that maybe made under the same name. We arrived on time and guess what? Our table was served to somebody else who claimed to be me. We clarified that's not the case and suggested them to check the number. They spoke to table-stealer who insisted that they made a reservation under my name. I can understand how difficult it'd be to kick them out if they've been seated and inisisted that the restaurant missed their booking. So when they said we'd be given first priority for next table available, I'm fine to settle with that. However, we wanted to reflect this to the manager to make sure she's aware of it. We got turned down as she's very busy and she'd attend to us as soon as she has a minute. Obviously she never had a minute. So we waited for another 10-15 mins where we saw two other tables were served before us and when we tried to clarify the situation about the "first priority" and asked to speak to manager again, the receptionist said the table will be ready shortly and she'd look for the manager - which obviously didn't really happen. Until she came back and finally bring us to our table, we again insisted to talk to the manager. The manager finally came and told us she's not aware of all these which is complete BS. And we told her we had waited for almost 30mins trying to speak to her and she responded "that's strange, I was at the entrance 15mins ago and didn't see you". This is completely disrespectful - we were there waiting for so long and why did she has to question something that is true? why didn't she go question something that was clearly untrue - i.e. the table stealer? why did she as a manager not try to manage the situation ASAP but trying to avoid it? (of coz i know why - this is not HER restaurant. she doesn't care. she'd think there're still other customers filling up the restaurant and no one would notice her negligence as a manager. she just doesn't understand the power of word of mouth) We couldn't take it and had to leave right away..

This is not a 5 star hotel restaurant. I don't expect perfect service. I don't mind having to wait a bit even with reservation as long as there's a fair system in place. Even the cheap restaurants do this well. I don't know what this restaurant is up to to offer such horrible service? Do they know what RESPECT is? The issue is not on the table stealer anymore. It's how the restaurant is incapable of making up for their own mistake. It's also on the manager's unprofessional attitude. Complete disrespectful.

What can I say? This is the best fillet steak I have had in a long time: tender, juicy, perfectly cooked. I love the big open grill.The side dishes we ordered were grilled peppers; mixed vegetables & sweet potato. The peppers were cooked perfectly & tasted lovely and sweet. I didn't have room for the rest but my friend said they were very tasty too.Neither of us had room for dessert but we polished off quite a lot of good Malbec. They have a great selection of Argentinian wine & the menu is simp

What can I say? This is the best fillet steak I have had in a long time: tender, juicy, perfectly cooked. I love the big open grill.

The side dishes we ordered were grilled peppers; mixed vegetables & sweet potato. The peppers were cooked perfectly & tasted lovely and sweet. I didn't have room for the rest but my friend said they were very tasty too.

Neither of us had room for dessert but we polished off quite a lot of good Malbec. They have a great selection of Argentinian wine & the menu is simply laid out by grape variety for those of us who are not clever that way.

Service was very good except for one waiter who whisked our wine glasses away without asking us if we wanted another glass (we did!).

I can't wait to go back.

友人間談起到Shore吃D.A牛扒的經驗,其中提到有沒有興趣試一試來自阿根廷的牛扒。就這樣便派出三人作先頭部隊探路,在星期五的晚上來一探虛實。出發前打聽過說出品是不錯。這裡的感覺倒是有點像Bistecca.一行三人趁天氣還是涼快便選擇了坐在室外的位置看見餐檯上的重型武器心中已有不祥預感!橄欖油的包裝罐子吸引但味道甚淡,麵包只是室溫狀態而且是偏硬.Mixed Lettuces, Tomatoes and Red Onion----蔬菜是新鮮尤其是蕃茄特別好吃。只是這個醋的味道是太濃,酸了一點.Chorizo Sausage & Morcilla Sausage ----肉腸的腸衣比常吃到的較為軟身,內裡的肉質較散夾雜著大大拉的脂肪吃起來頗膩.血腸味道不怎麼樣但質感是糜爛,入口像納豆般黏答答.Gaucho Platter ----一直聞到鄰檯傳來炭火烤肉的味道,是期待著主菜上場的.全部也要了Medium Rare但出來的效果絕對超過了Medium. Chorizo Sausage & Morcilla Sausage ----肉腸的腸衣比常吃到的較為軟身,內裡的肉質較散夾雜著大大拉的脂肪吃起來頗膩.
血腸味道不怎麼樣但質感是糜爛,入口像納豆般黏答答.

Gaucho Platter ----一直聞到鄰檯傳來炭火烤肉的味道,是期待著主菜上場的.全部也要了Medium Rare但出來的效果絕對超過了Medium. Fillet ----最先吃這件的肉味是最濃,脂肪不多但起碼能咬得開.Skirt steak----第一口咬下去的感覺是牛味不及Fillet濃但肉汁極度豐富,神奇的是肉質"好像"柔軟但卻在口中嘴嚼了超過五分鐘也未能吞下.Short ribs----用叉一拮已暗叫不妙因整條骨竟然會脫落, 試一口肉質纖維粗嚡如湯渣,味道是鹹到出現苦味!三人也無法再吃下去,找來侍應如實告知,廚房亦承認是出了問題.

換了另外一件後問題依然是沒有解決,同樣也是鹹得叫救命!當然也只是試了一小口已吃不下,就算再換也沒有意思.其實這件Short ribs比較像用一個裝著醃汁的焗盆放入焗爐焗至十成熟多過用炭火來燒.叫拼盤的原意是先試一試味道,好吃的便再encore!最後當然是打消了念頭.

星期五晚上厨師也能安坐在一邊,生意有多好不用說了吧.

如果來這裡只吃Fillet的話可能會笑得出(不給喊臉也全靠這件扒)可想而知這件Ribs真的非常累事.
在門口看見咭片才知原來與Prime,Bistecca也同是Dining Concepts旗下.怪不得!

Sirloin Argentina 12 oz (Medium well)
Malbec Poached Short Ribs Australia
French Fries Provenzal
Chorizo Sausage
Argentina Wine

Firstly, the charcoal sirloin steak was a bit towards the salty side .. we didnt even really need to use the 6 side sauces that was provided (and they were way salty too !) ..

then came the chorizo sausage which taste alright... nothing memorable about it...

The most disspointing was the Ribs which I expected to be grilled or something but it turned out to be stewed then quickly charcoaled upon order.. although the portion was big... but there was really not much taste to it apart from being salty....

But on a good note. the wine was nice and fruity ..

I dont think i will ever visit again ! ><!

I heard about this restaurent for a quite a while and decided to give a try on 5 Feb for lunch. Quite 水靜河飛 during my visit, might be due to the Chinese New Year holiday. I ordered a medium flat iron steak on the set lunch menu. The steak was less than warm and neither tender nor juicy. I'm a meat eater and I was hurry but i just gave it up after consuming 1/3 of the steak. It was an unhappy experience, especially in new year time. That said, I plan to revisit the place again for their steaks on

之前同女朋友係聖誕節會去食中菜(唔洗迫)。今年係無意間見到有關一個節目講起有一間食阿廷根扒的地方,見到這特別就打電話訂枱,因為當日是聖誕節,本來要收按金,而本人當時不在港,要求他安排,他很快就回覆可以,真係服務一流。本來以為要食他們定好的set,點知都可以散叫,那我們一致決定散叫。我地當然要叫個出名的Hearts of Palm,原來樹芯都可以咁好味在他們介紹之下叫左個餡餅(芝士同牛肉是最多人order),餡料多到流,牛肉好好味,外皮脆,餡又夠味,掂!!!至於芝士就...我覺得可以,而我女朋友就接受唔到佢的芝士味。下次要試下Sweetcorn.主菜我地當然叫扒啦,我地想一次試晒唔同的扒,所以order左Gaucho Platter (i.e Short ribs, fillet and skirt)。張相係女朋友到上載不了。味道就好重香料味,而肉質就真係好好,skrit好有肉味,比我在美國食的aged beef還要勁。但是個short ribs就有點像我媽媽煲湯的肉,好軟。最後叫左個甜品,Leche Flan。會搵多次再去食過。Good!!!

在他們介紹之下叫左個餡餅(芝士同牛肉是最多人order),餡料多到流,牛肉好好味,外皮脆,餡又夠味,掂!!!至於芝士就...我覺得可以,而我女朋友就接受唔到佢的芝士味。下次要試下Sweetcorn.

主菜我地當然叫扒啦,我地想一次試晒唔同的扒,所以order左Gaucho Platter (i.e Short ribs, fillet and skirt)。張相係女朋友到上載不了。味道就好重香料味,而肉質就真係好好,skrit好有肉味,比我在美國食的aged beef還要勁。但是個short ribs就有點像我媽媽煲湯的肉,好軟。


最後叫左個甜品,Leche Flan。


會搵多次再去食過。Good!!!

先來一客小蕃茄,平時我唔多食蕃茄的,由其係生蕃茄,大家都說蕃茄有草腥味,但大家都說這個蕃茄好好味,那我也來吃一口,嘩!真的,沒有草腥味,只加了少許 Oliva oil ,少許 Pepper ,同埋少少鹽,帶出蕃茄既鮮味,為頭盤打開序幕!

到主菜了,當日我同 Candy Share ,所以叫左一份係牛,一份係雞!

係因為用呢個炭爐黎燒的,火力好大架!但現場冇油煙味,抽氣好勁呢,炭燒既風味同埋火力強勁,就可以好快咁鎖住肉汁!正!我同CANDY 叫左五成,不過上埋枱佢已經變成七成了,看來火很強勁,牛肉內燃得更熟,下次可以點四成...三成.....
