We had tried the Kwun Tong branch before and knew that Tapa Room had really good Spanish food, so when we were at Causeway Bay on a date, we knew we had to try out different dishes. We were so delighted and happy with the variety of Tapas we ordered this time, and we also chose a different main course and now we can definitively say Tapa Room has our favourite Spanish food in all of Hong Kong. Their steak was phenomenal, and for their price and quality, it was simply unbeatable. The service was
We ordered 1 cold tapa, 3 hot tapas, 1 main course, and 2 drinks between the 2 of us
1. Tuna Carpaccio $88 Rating: 8/10
The tuna was slightly seared, and seasoned with spices that removed some of the fishy taste you may normally find within raw fish. The fish was so soft and juicy and when paired with the balsalmic vinegar salad underneath, the sourness of the vinegar balanced out the seafood taste of the fish and was so divine. Ofcourse, this is not the kind of sashimi toro kind of tuna, so the texture profile is completely different especially after searing and seasoning, but it was so delightful to try raw tuna prepared in a different way.
2. Lamb Pintxos $78 Rating: 6.5/10
There were 4 lamb skewers, all of which were tender and aromatic. Our favourite part of this was the sauce that it came with, a viscous sweet and sour sauce with fresh lime juice. Although the taste was great, admittedly the price is a bit steep for the amount of skewers you get

3. Foie gras bikini sandwich $78 Rating: 7.5/10
We had tried the foie gras lollipop last time (a cold tapa), but this one beats the cold tapa one by miles! The warmth and heat from the bread really brings out the buttery richness of the foie gras. The sandwich was perfectly toasted and had an excellent crunchy texture, which compliments the richness of the fat really well. However note that this was more close to pate and not slices of grilled foie gras

4. Tortilla De Patata Spanish Potato Omlette $78 Rating: 8.5/10 Highly Recommend
Of all the tapas, this one had to be the most worth it! The whole potato omlette was filled with onions, eggs, and potatoes, and had a thick layer of cheese on the top. Even though this was already our second time having this dish, the flavourful profile never gets old! Highly recommend this for any 1st time tapa triers!

5. Grilled US Ribeye $218 Rating: 9.5/10 100% RECOMMEND PLEASE GET THIS!
Honestly one of the most worth it steaks we have ever tried! For the price and the quality it was simply unbeatable. We ordered medium rare, and the meat was so flavourful and beefy whilst still being able to retain the soft and suppleness of raw meat. Paired with their mustard, the steak was absolutely phenomenal. The execution with that slice of steak was truly amazing. The portion size was also quite decent, and even when shared between 2 people, we felt that it was still a great amount. If you were just to order 1 main for 1 person, this would be enough for the average sized customer. The potato pancakes were a good addition to the dish as they helped you feel slightly fuller and also had a chewiness in texture that helped to balance the juicy, succulent steak

6. Drinks: White Sangria ($60) & Classic Gin and Tonic ($108)
I had never tried sangria before but after drinking this one I really wonder why I hadn't tried any earlier! The white wine base was good and did not have those sour aftertastes typical of cheaper wine. The oranges infused had a citrus taste which was really refreshing in balancing out the heaviness of the food. The gin and tonic was also refreshing and also quite big for its price, given that this was a bar in CWB. Overall, would definitely try their other sangrias again and maybe their other alcohol drinks too!
