i made a mistake... my friend booked vivo and i went to tivo... fortunately, they are from the same group, so i was directed to go up to Elgin Street.Vivo looks quite similar to Tivo. I had the spaghetti carbonara, which was good, and very rich. i only ate half of it. My friends said the pork chop was nice, but not the seafood pasta.

We tried an apetizer, the blue lip mussels, which was definitely bad! the mussels were tiny and they smelled fishy and definitely not delicious.

Oh, the one thing which we all agreed was good was the bread.

Overall, the quality did not worth the price.

是晚繼續和我最愛的哥哥慶祝生日,給了他數間餐廳選擇,最後他從餐廳的感覺和食物的賣相選擇了這裡。大概早一星期打來訂了位,所以是日來到立即有位,不用等待。進去的時候店子也頗多客人,最後侍應哥哥帶了我們上一層,一個人也沒有! 感覺就像是包了場似的,非常寧靜,寬敞和舒服。還有一個哥哥專門招呼我們,所以是晚環境氣氛一流。有Tasting menu選擇,不過最後我們也分開叫,選擇了一些大家推介過和自己想吃的食物。首先appetizer叫了一客parma ham with rocket salad,parma ham有薄薄的幾片,不過全部都肥瘦平均,食落非常甘香,一點也不會覺得太肥太鹹,加上rocket salad和其淡淡的沙律汁會中和一下它的鹹味,所以是不錯的。另外我們叫了一個smoked portobello pizza,一來到的時候已經香氣四溢,有微微的煙燻味。餅底很薄,一點也不會覺得滯和飽肚,咬落非常香脆,連平日不愛pizza的媽咪也覺得很不錯。煙香了的磨菇不會失去了鮮味,加上濃味的芝士,也是好吃的。Carbonara也是是晚推介之一,醬汁非常多而且很濃味,每一條意粉也沾上,充著濃濃的蛋香和

另外我們叫了一個smoked portobello pizza,一來到的時候已經香氣四溢,有微微的煙燻味。餅底很薄,一點也不會覺得滯和飽肚,咬落非常香脆,連平日不愛pizza的媽咪也覺得很不錯。煙香了的磨菇不會失去了鮮味,加上濃味的芝士,也是好吃的。

Carbonara也是是晚推介之一,醬汁非常多而且很濃味,每一條意粉也沾上,充著濃濃的蛋香和芝士味。意粉有咬口,幾彈牙,雖是creamy,但由於它的份量不是真的很大,也不會覺得很膩,至少我們非常喜歡這個意粉呢。

最後的MAIN COURSE就是Duck Confit Risotto,這個不要看它份量小小,最滯最膩的就是它了。飯的內外也充滿著鴨肉絲,非常濃味。飯的口感也可以,有咬口得來是幾香的,因為充滿著芝士呢。醬汁也是非常濃味,侍應哥哥也說害怕我們覺得太鹹,但overall也覺得可以啦,反正吃完很飽就是了。

最後由於家裡有蛋糕,所以只叫了一個甜品,為的其實也是滿足我。從多款中選擇了 traditional tiramisu,這個也等了一段長時間呢。但這個我真的覺得很好吃,形狀看似不規則,食落酒香和咖啡香也非常濃味,加上蛋糕濕潤度很高,所以真的覺得很喜歡!!!

是晚服務很好,因為開初只需要招呼我們嘛,還會幫我們倒水分食物,真的太好了。為何我說是晚一定是個好日子呢?因為結帳時店員竟說是日main course是買一送一的,所以免了我carbonara的錢,而事前我是不知道的,這樣也太幸運了吧!!!! 希望這個好運來年每日也伴隨著壽星仔就好了,之後我們就非常非常滿足的走了,是一餐很愉快的晚餐呢。=))))

1) Spahtetti-M - $138
吃完麵包後,這一碟Spahtetti-M很快便到了,我們也不客氣地品嚐了. 但,我們吃了幾口後,也很快地說,"飽了",因意粉真的很creamy,加上這個蛋汁便更加容易有飽的感覺,不過又真係幾香口,幾好味呀.
2) Smoked Portobello pizza -$148
其實本人食pizza大多數都是食pizza hut多,所以也很少接觸到其他不同餐廳的pizza.今晚來了VIVO選擇了pizza,第一種也給我很新鮮的感覺,因和平時吃的Pizza Hut完全是兩種感覺,加上這一個薄批是脆脆的,而且這一個Pizza 也配料量充足,再加上幾片的basil leaves,感覺得清新,把原本整個pizza濃濃的各項配料,突然加上清新的basil leaves,把整個Pizza更加有層次感,我鍾意.
3) 吃完這兩個主菜後,我們傾了一會兒,便order我在西餐廳最喜歡的-甜品. 今晚,我們order了Dessert Platter-$148
這一碟Dessert Platter有四款甜品,包括Tiramisu,Chocolate Fondant,Cream Brulee,Vanllia ice-cream,起初menu其款中其中一款是薰衣草pudding,但說今天有少許更改,Chocolate Fondant取代了pudding,好啦,見職員這麼有禮地告訴我們. 唯有接受,因我也想吃多種頪的甜品麻,下次有機會來試試啦.
講回這幾款甜品,先講
a) Tiramisu,我吃Tiramisu我都會著重品嚐它的濕度感,芝士味感,滑溜感及甜酒的濃度,但詁不到他的Tiramisu和我的口感也一致,例如濕度重一點,我喜歡,芝士味輕一點,我喜歡,軟滑感和我的口感完全合拍,再加上我比較喜歡酒味濃過之芝士味,完全和我吻合,超開心.
b) Chocolate Fondant
前幾天公司有同事生日,吃了幾口Awfully Chocolate Cake ,真的覺得是完全一樣,特別是朱古力的濃厚程度,如果你向我說是同一個師傅製造出來的,我也相信,因兩個味道真的很相似.
c) Cream Brulee
燉蛋很香滑,再加上頂頂上有一塊脆脆的焦糖,一啖燉蛋和一啖脆脆的焦糖混在一起,就像海綿遇上玻璃,這兩個極端人物,感覺好特別,完全不錯.
d) Vanllia ice-cream
雪糕也是普普通通的,沒有那麼特別,但依然是香滑,
記得我們差不多品嚐完各種美食後,職員也主動問我們,食物的質素如何,我們說"不錯呀!" 講真,我也比較喜歡餐廳職員主動走過來問我們意見,起碼他們是想每一天的進步,接收多一點意見,不會想原地踏步.
今晚雖然這餐首個Birthday celebrate價錢真的很貴,但餐廳環境,服務,食物質素真的不錯,我沒有為我的荷包肉痛,只在心裏向自己說"努力工作賺錢吧!"

Came here for dinner while walking around SOHO trying to get some decent food w/o getting ripped off. Food:
Mushroom and truffle fettucine: YUM!
Came loaded with morsels of portabello mushroom and the truffle part was grounded and with a layer of olive oil and basic seasoning, this was great. Pasta was al dente and flavor was on point. Slightly oily for me, but flavor won me over.

Rib-eye steak: Came paired with green beans and roasted potatoes and two sun dried tomatoes. Pretty hearty portion, steak was decent, nothing spectacular. Liked the sides more.

Warm chocolate cake with hazelnut ice cream: Wasn't what I expected, it was just a very stick-to-your-teeth type of cake. Very chocolatey and dense. Ice cream was yum.

Service: Great service, won me over. The waiters are all attentive and knowledgeable on wine recommendations. They also have a pretty decent wine list to choose from.

Sizing it up: I enjoyed the food and the service was attentive. The decor of the place is very trendy and chic. I liked the fact that it isnt open air, so you can enjoy the meal with air conditioning. Eveerything was also fairly priced, so value was good for the type of experience, would come again.

A great night with girl friends. We ordered Caesar Salad, Wagyu beef carpaccio, carbonara and duck confit pizza. The portion of the dishes are just right for girls.

Caesar Salad was great. Not over dressed and the romaine lettuce are crisp.

Wagyu beef carpaccio was the highlight of the night.
The dish proven that wagyu beef are excellent choice for making carpaccio. It is one of the best carpaccio so far I have tasted in HK.

Carbonara was attractive, but it was too saucy. Plus, the ham/bacon that was used in the pasta was not too impressive. The meat itself almost tasted like chicken.

Have to agree with an earlier commentary. The duck confit pizza was a disappointment. The duck was so dried after being in the oven with the thin crust. Tasted like duck jerky on the pizza. The only good part was the pizza crust was thin and crispy. It went well with the white we ordered.

Other than the food, the wine selection in this restaurant was great. We ordered Bava Gavi di Gavi Cor de Chasse 2008 D.O.C.G. from Piemonte, Italy. Not a lot of restaurant offers good Italian wine. Thus, I was impressed by a few of the selections they got in their wine list.

Will definitely revisit Vivo in near future.

The first thing that struck me was that the setting was comfortable, and not pretentious. It seemed a little oddball-ish, with the carved wood pillars covering the lights and the (fake) plants hanging. But it was strangely calming.

The missus and I start out with a glass of champagne each. We supposedly ordered Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, but since the waiter did not take the bottle out to pour, I was not able to verify this (bad service mistake). It tasted fine though.

As we toasted to another year's past and munched on bread (it was warm!), we decided on the Caesar Salad (I remembered that Cecconi's next door had a great salad and wanted to see how they compared) and two pastas: Duck Confit Risotto with mushrooms and parmesan cheese, and the Seafood Linguine.

The salad was a little disappointing. The veggies were fresh, and they went light on the dressing, but it was really just... caesar salad. The croutons were stale, and they were a little stingy on the cheese. Not at all memorable.

The risotto was a dish recommended by my sister. When it came it really didn't look like much. It looked like Italian style watery fried rice...but the taste was great! The tangy taste of the duck complemented the cream of risotto, and the mushrooms were not too pungent. The texture of the duck (which was cooked perfectly) worked to counter the mushiness of the pasta too. A great dish that I would love to have again

My sister had also enthusiastically recommended the Wagyu Beef Cheek Ravioli. However, they did not have it on the menu that day, so we settled for the seafood linguine, which was also a pleasant surprise. The noodles were cooked al dente, and there was no shortage of ingredients, with salmon, squid, mussels and clams. The taste was actually very good, there was a tinge of fishy taste, but not enough to overpower the aroma of garlic and white wine.

It turned out perfect, since I enjoyed the risotto more, while the dear birthday girl enjoyed the linguine more =) We cleaned up both dishes pretty well.

Then came dessert. Knowing the missus' affinity for dessert (and it being her birthday), I offered to let her choose two sweet dishes. She kindly refused, and so we ended up getting a Valhrona Chocolate Fondant, and a cheese plate. Sadly to say, I don't remember the exact cheese I got (it was blue), but in general it was good and strong, and there was a lot of it. The plate came with a honey-soaked apricot and water-thin wafers.

The birthday girl seemed to really enjoy the fondant - basically a hot chocolate cake, as it was rich yet not too sweet. I can't say it was amazing, but as dessert it really hit the spot.

The service was great, everyone was very helpful (aside from the champagne miss) and all in all it was a very good meal. Compared to Cecconi's, I would rate this place just as highly (might have been even higher had there been wagyu ravioli), with a similar value-for-money experience but a much more relaxed atmosphere. Come here for good fusion fare, as you can't go wrong with the pastas, but like many Soho restaurants, prepare to pay a pretty penny for it!

星期日,本來係想食LUNCH點知變O左食BRUNCH ~黎到SOHO ! 唔洗多講 ... 正 ~一入到VIVO就覺得幾舒服咁 !用O既杯都係靚杯呀 ~我見MENU二話不說 ~ 已經簡O左食STEAK啦 !而KUMA就食唔知咩咩意粉 ! HAHA ! (由於唔係本人食所以不太關心)意粉一黎到其實一望落去已經知係正同好食啦 ! 濃濃O既汁配住意粉 !仲有幾新鮮O既青口噃 ! wagyu carpaccio, Caesar Salad, pasta, pizza are quite good, especially the carpaccio.Atmosphere is excellent and service is above average. Two other Italian restaurants on the same street have more guest, I tried but still this one is the best on the street. Value for money if you go on Sunday and Monday

Went there for a friend's birthday and it totally disappointed me.We ordered a crab cake, a ceasar salad. a duck risotto and a lamb loin. The portion was extremely small. You can't imagine the crab cakes were like the size of a one dollar coin!!! It costs $98+10%. I think it shouldn't happen in a restaurant which charges such a price, right?

呢間餐廳係 openrice search 到就好想試下, 去完旅行之後終於抽到日子黎試下 ! 門口同餐廳裝修唔錯, 當晚開左支酒 $300 幾, 叫左一個 PASTA 同埋 PIZZA, 不過好不幸味道都係一般, 不過 SERVICE 就唔錯, 埋單時發現祇係收 $ 580, 原來因為依家做 PROMOTION BUY 1 GET 1 FREE, 真係抵牙 !

今天小朋友放假,想出來跟媽媽我吃lunch. 小王子要吃pizza,但媽媽實在不想去pizza express 了,所以就帶他去了Vivo.以前都跟朋友吃過Lunch,感覺不錯。所以再去,看看這回怎樣。到步時沒有太多人,只有一臺。我們3個人,所以我就點了1個pizza, 1個salad, 和1個pasta。侍應先捧來一盤面包,熱騰騰的。有foccacia, 也有像french bread 的。面包很香很soft.....好味。接下來是Caesar Salad. 雖沒大驚喜, 但caesar 醬味道不俗, 加了anchioves 及很香的bacon (其實我不知道是bacon or dried ham,因為和平時的不太一樣)後配搭得宜,good.兒子喜歡吃pasta, 所以叫了很basic 的Spaghetti Carbonara. 一碟醬汁鮮黃的pasta端上來,看似平平無奇, 但原來很好吃。雞蛋醬汁混和火腿跟彈牙的spaghetti.......口感豐富! 實在做得很出色。份量也絕對不少,3個人分完都覺得很飽。兒子還覺得有一點heavy 添!上次lunch的時候試過portabell

上次lunch的時候試過portabello mushroom pizza, 記得很好吃。但for小朋友我還是點了簡單一點的margherita pizza 比較穩陣。薄薄的thin and crispy, 味道也很不俗。pizza面灑了一點black pepper吊味,再加了幾片basil leaves,把原本較為平凡的番茄芝士味弄的豐富起來,味道更有層次。但我就稍嫌pizza 餅底較soft, 不夠crispy.

以soho 的 lunch 來計,價錢不算便宜,但卻值得幫襯!

總括來說,兩次來到VIVO, 都沒有失望。難怪朋友一直說要encore. 今天因為太飽,未能再嘗他們也做得很出色的甜品,實在遺憾!下次要留肚再吃。
