FoFo's location is kind of tricky, it is said to be in Central, even in LKF (Lan Kwai Fong) but it is on the rooftop (20/F) of the LKF building, which just offers a hidden corridor to the lift and has a small badge of FoFo's name downstairs.

I arrived a bit late while others were enjoying the breath-taking view at the rooftop lounge of FoFo. We were seated at the corner where was rounded by the semi-transparent glass; at the back is the always-busy corner of LKF (old 7-11 gathering point beside Big-Pizza); in the right, is the sparkling shining view of the Peak and the orange car-path to it; in the front and in the left, is of course the most luxury view of all lighted-up Central commercial buildings, which you could even have a glimpse of those finance-focus offices.

The dining area is downstairs, which just finished restaurant renovation. Now it's a purely white paradise with many fluffy cute birds. The restaurant name 'FoFo' actually means 'fat' in Spanish, and in FoFo, it is specially used to describe those cute birds. It inspired my memory of Barcelona, where a lot sea birds, sunshine and smiling people there. A feeling of always happy and positive-energy was stimulated by the new dining decoration a lot. And I guess the big man behind this restaurant, el Willy, who also comes from Barcelona, would be proud of it.

Oyster with lime & chili granita $30 / piece

Oyster is nothing special here, the quality is quite stable as its source, while they made sauce themselves which took lime juice as base. Overall flavor was quite fresh and active, pairing with a little chili spicy, the oyster contained its original raw style while we had a lighter version of sour & spicy additional.

36 month Iberico ham, it was one the best I have tried in Hong Kong. A balance of everything from taste to texture, gave me a speechless feeling. Probably every one has his favorite part of dried ham, for me, the perfect part must be the first-second that I put ham in my mouth, and the tongue could experience the dried, hard, salty ham turned to moisture, soft and savory.

It's salmon moisturised by little olive oil, actually nothing too special for the top part, which is familiar to each of you who has been used to good quality salmon dish. However, the Air Bag is such amazing creation. Remember when you take the Indian pancake, or thin Italian pizza, the narrowly over-baked dough paste has few bubbles on the top of plain dough? That's what it is! In this lovely crispy 'bag' is a revised sour cream which tasted cheesy, milky in a fine-tuned sourness.

Typically Barcelona dish and just by its looking, I was overwhelmed. You can tell how crispy and warmly-cheesy those triangle breads are, just by looking! Inside, the flavor was lead by Iberico Ham for sure, while another two (black truffle & cheese) are also outstanding, and three of them worked perfectly to create a deep-deep savory-cheese taste.

I love Sangria, especially in red. I have tried some different versions, from low-alcohol till a rosy-sweet topped with foam version, from Hong Kong to Shanghai. I should say FoFo's Sangria was top 3. I love its alcohol taste outstanding but not too strong, and with a comparable lower level of sweetness.

Spanish night, how can't we have churros! To be honest, I haven't found the equal-quality churros in Hong Kong as I have tried in Barcelona, probably the best one was in Zafran. FoFo's churros was soft, fresh warm, but still lacked the tensive and elastic texture in the central of churros, however, the chocolate dip from FoFo, was the best in Hong Kong! It's sticky, thick, warm, full of pure chocolate & coco.

Traditional Spanish Ice-cream Sandwich $48 / piece

It's strawberry and mint, which either of them tasted outstanding, and the sandwich biscuit was in a softer and moisturer version which was not what I was looking for.

In average, FoFo is a Spanish/Barcelone/Catalan fine dining restaurant while offering a modern-city casual & easy environment. What I love most is not only the amazing dishes, but also the impressive brightening dining space and that incredible rooftop terrace!!!

另一款是一個溫的沙律,主要閃一些炒過的不知名菌類切絲, 待應姐姐是有特別介紹過這個歐洲來的菌但聽過只是耳邊風, 轉過頭就完全唔記得了, 這個雖說是沙律但份量似乎是一個溫菜的份量, 擺設也比較上有設計的, 洋蔥炒菇片上加了露荀尖同兩片風乾火腿, 風乾火腿片非我們所好只知道唔太咸再有些少甜味已經算唔錯的了, 後來睇番張單才知道是”Black Trumpet”Mushroom 大概是一種灰黑色嘅呈喇叭形舞茸之類的東西, 口感是爽脆的但重纖維那種, 這種鮮野菌通常會有陣”味道”, 反而我們會更喜歡一般的炒白菌/ 大啡菇之類, 因為普通的白菌用酒/牛油一碰香氣就自然出來了,

Special Seafood Platter $580 用一只玻璃碟裝上半邊烤龍蝦, 兩隻大青口, 幾隻Charry Stone, 兩粒煎帶子, 一件海魚柳, 半只烤魷魚, 兩至三條青露荀, 汁是一個檸檬牛油汁配海鮮正正是天作之合!雖則這sauce 有一點old fashion, 但往往這種老派醬汁同某些食物經過百年嘅組合, 很難會覺得不好吃的, 加上這碟上的海鮮全部是剛剛熟, 無論是烤龍蝦, 煎的帶子/ 魚柳, 還有所有的蜆介類, 燒的魷魚等等, 當中最喜歡的要算是”魷魚”可能同自己原來就喜歡食這東西有關!
Bikini x 2 / $100 四件多士 , 比堅尼應該是形容這多士的形狀邢己, 刻意將飽壓至扁扁的再在面搽上牛油當然好香亦有色, 味道由餡料帶出,包括咸香嘅火腿同芝士, 青菜可以中和一下咸味, 但如果以50蚊兩小三角形來計算,價位相對的高, 或者中間的火腿真的用了高價的貨色吧!

Short Rib Juicy Rice $250 , 整個飯用一個比較上細的紅色器具盛戴, 但不可小看它這細小嘅外型, 吃完它後自會感覺它的存在,由於名字是Juicy Rice米飯是浸沒在一個濃濃嘅肉汁當中, 這個是太座不太欣賞的手法, 因為肉汁豐厚每一口飯都起碼有一個tbsp 嘅sauce, 吃多了的確幾漿口亦幾漏下, 三片牛肋肉則是經過低溫處理嘅理紋, 牛肉理紋內嘅半透明脈絡說明了每片牛肋肉內的脂肪分佈, 所以只用三片是有道理的, 至於三片半的黑松露片感覺是泥土氣息, 對於我等從來沒有品嘗過這種高級食材嘅人而言, 感覺不大, 算係食過咁囉,!

來之前,已經參考過過食友們的意見,而且我是超愛吃Bikini的,所以無論好不好吃,這都是必點的。味道上是很好的,外層很香脆,當中夾了不少的黑豬、松露和芝士,與我最愛的西班牙餐廳的bikini不同之處是FOFO還加入了火箭菜;面對著溶溶的芝士,香氣樸鼻的松露,整個組合就是美味。不過,如果你問我喜歡FOFO還是Catalunya的,我還是會說Catalunya,可能你會覺得先入為主,有偏見,但口味這回事就是這樣,因為口味有時候也是種感覺而已。

一上到來,被份量超多的chorizo嚇怕了,這份crispy potatoes只需$110,便可以把我餵得飽飽的,很划算吧。可以先品嚐沒有蛋的炸薯絲,但嚐過後,記得把蛋搗爛,因為那味道是相差很遠的。薯絲混上了蛋汁後,那香脆的薯絲被香甜濃郁的蛋汁包圍著,再混上chorizo,切粒帶鹹香的chorizo加添了薯絲的味道,令整個組合更完美,真的超愛。(Must-Try)

而我,覺得味道不錯,墨汁味強勁,飯粒亦算煙韌;而那墨魚亦很彈牙,鮮味十足;美中不足的是比較濕了些,像在吃湯飯似的。

FOFO是新派的西班牙菜式,推陳出新是一件好事,這樣子飲食界才會不斷發展;不過推陳出新之餘,保留舊式的元素還是需要的,FOFO算做得不錯;但如果你問我,個人比較傳統,還是喜歡舊派,或者當有一天,吃得悶時,便會開始喜歡新派的。

這間餐廳另設bar 臺,吃完晚飯也可以和友人家人膜著杯底繼續談天說地,人間一樂事也!總括來說,這裡食物屬高水準之作,價錢亦算合理,唯一的不足的是環境比較迫,臺與臺之間的距離很近,隔離臺的人的交談內容也聽得一清二楚~

It's not easy to find a decent Spanish restaurant in HK, I have been to a couple but not even impressed by their traditional tapas.  Most of the restaurants overcharge on the food, so you are paying big bucks for a casual dining experience.  My colleague recommended me to try Fofo and I do agree that this restaurant has a decent menu (even their tasting menu isn't expensive)  and they only charge $200 for corkage whilst their wine list is very reasonable as well.   Crispy suckling pig with baby

As a tapas, it's not bad, the skin was crispy but I still prepare the full suckling pig which will give you a different sense of satisfaction.  Besides, I prefer a plain clean dish on suckling pig without other ingredients.  Personally, the mix with other ingredients just wasted the original taste of the suckling pig...

Quite an interesting dish, exceptionally tender meat but too much sugar was added which covered the natural beef taste. Enjoyed the bite size a lot and found that the beef cheek mixed surprisingly well with the banana & passion fruit crispy roll...probably due to the sweet sauce base.

This dish was the highlight of the night.  Honestly, it didn’t taste like any ordinary toast, I expected it to be more like a Panini but it’s not. The toast itself was very thin then the taste of black truffle and Iberico ham were stunningly outstanding. I got to experience a complicated palate from this dish à from spicy & slightly bitter taste of arugula to creamy mozzarella to savory Iberico ham to overwhelming oily black truffle combining with a glass of Red wine…what an amazing taste bud tour!

We were debating which “Paella” to order whilst there are choices of the traditional iberico ham or lobster seafood paella. I am always a big fan of lobster but then I really want to try & compare the squid ink rice here with Catalunya. Therefore, we consulted the waiter and he kinda talked us into ordering the traditional paella based on the fact that the black juicy rice is a new dish just came out & the way the chef prepared it will be a bit soggy. After somewhat careful thinking and discussion, we still decided to give it a try. To me, I quite like this juicy rice and it’s not soggy at all…I may say the squid ink paella from Catalunya was way more soggy and salty than this one. The taste of the rice and the red prawn were kept in well balance and the red prawn was indeed very fresh and juicy, no complaint, period.

The restaurant is small but cozy, with high ceiling and classy decorations.They served 9 courses in the restaurant week costing around $500 per head which will definitely make you have a full stomach with quality food. The montaditos are coffin bay oyster, explosive smoked salmon, iberico ham and foie gras mi-chit. I like the iberico ham and fresh liver most since they are tasty and are certainly a good start for a dinner. Since this menu doesn't include any drinks, we ordered some cocktails and opened a bottle of white wine. Well they made food much better than drinks. 

The tapas are also doing good here and served with a quite big portion. They are all flavor-packed. Spanish cod fish is well cooked with perfect timing and well matched with the sweet corn, baby spinach and the sauce. The fish is tender and juicy. Another dish is the red prawn with potato foam and iberico pork pancetta and porccini. The sauce tasted like a very strong-flavored lobster soup and well matched with the prawn and pork. It gives me a unique and special experience in Spanish tapas. There is also scallop tiradito with pear and passion fruit. Personally I don't like the taste of tiradito since it is too sour for me. But the appearance of the  dish is so attractive and the scallop is fresh. 

Finally, here comes its signature crispy suckling pig. With the pineapple and port juice, it did make a good tasting texture for the suckling pig. It's sticky glaze and crispy crackling and underneath is the tender meat. 

If you like to try some special Spanish dishes, this restaurant is definitely worth a try.

Only outdoor seats were available on the same-day reservation, and discovered there's kind of outdoor lounge at FoFo's roof (similar to Halan's). This surely is a choice for drinks & chit chatting under this nice view, while indoor is definitely better for dinner, especially cold at night.
We arrived around 7pm, saw a lot of empty tables indoor but regrettably reserved, waitress was so nice to offer us one as long as we could hand over to them at 9:30pm. Thank you.

Friendly waitress suggested serving suckling pig in half portion, that is kind of service we always look for when dinning out, enable us to try different dishes without wasting food. I have ever had suckling pig like FoFo's, it was not only crispy at skin, but also soft inside, I was extremely amazed by this just-perfect-combination. Thanks to my friend who insisted to opt for this, it was definitely over my expectation and far better than those Chinese restaurants. A MUST TRY DISH.

Waitress took initiative to peel off the shell skin before we voicing out. Excellent service. Lobster & sauce were cooked to perfection, the only drawback I'd say was the rice itself, too tough to absorb sauce, and ruined my appetite on it.

I was joined today by B, J, and T for this lunch. B pointed out that the restaurant coloumns and lights were adorned with white penguins and pigs - a very interesting choice of decoration. After a few minutes of discussion, we all opted for the set lunch. The manager informed us that the portions of the tapas that came with the set are very small. He suggested that instead of choosing two tapas each, we each only choose one and he will make them into a regular sized portion instead - still keeping the set price. We agreed and waited patiently for a nice Spanish lunch at the peak of lunch hour in Central.

The presentation of this dish was excellent. The colours were vivd and inviting. It was served semi-hot, which is a good sign of something delicious. The slow cooked egg was located at the very bottom of the plate. B broke into the yolk and as expected it was runny and gooey, just the way it is supposed to be. J and T found the chorizo to be excessively salty, but B and I found that it was tamed down by the potato foam and egg. Overall a very rich dish, that stays true to Spanish flavours. The hashbrown scraps that graced the top of the dish added a good variety of texture and tasted great too.

This was a really really small dish, considering that this is already supposed to be a normal portion sized dish. I am glad that we decided to "supersize" it in a sense. There was a decent amount of tuna, but for a pepper salad there were only two kinds of peppers. I think some yellow and orange peppers would have added some much needed colour. It was served nice and cold, but there was an overpowering vingagrette that just covered the supposed star of the dish; the tuna. The onions were cooked perfectly, sweet and crunchy, however they were also drenched in the sauce.

These were served warm and toasty...excuse the pun and they also looked great on the wooden board. The teruel ham has a great saltiness to it, which is balanced well with my favourite cheese; mozarella. The cheese was melted, warm, and delicious. The inside also had  little pieces of rocket, giving it a bitter aftertaste which I love. Overall a great appetizer in anticipation of the main lunch course. The portion size was perfect.

Perfectly cooked and clean prawns, but this should always be a given for a restaurant of this level. There was ample garlic which made the prawn really flavourful and tasty. The prawns were lacking a real kick of chili and there was an excessive amount of oil. However, it was overall extremely delicious and I would want to eat more. Presentation was excellent, but maybe a couple more prawns would have been great.

The linguine was not al dente, but the portion was good. The prawn was cooked perfectly. The sauce was a simple tomato sauce that was enriched with basil. However, what J and T really wanted was a spicy sauce, and this was definitely not the case. It tasted great, but it was lacking a real kick. One or two more prawns would have amped this dish up. It was also not piping hot when served.

The sirloin looked as if it was cooked medium rare. Despite this, it was not as tender as I expected, and B found it difficult to chew. In addition there was an excessive amount of fat that graced the steak, which was very disappointing. The sauce was another story though. There were tiny little mushrooms that were rich and juicy. They were spread out on an onion, potato puree sauce that also had red wine, sun dried tomatoes, and beautiful caramelized beet root and onions. This was very flavourful and helped moisten the slightly dry steak. B, J, T and myself just wished that there was more of the sauce.

FoFo's serves chocolate churros at lunch time, which is a gamble as chocolate would really overpower the simplicity that an original churro would demand. The exterior was crunchy, but oversugared - that coupled with a gooey chocolate core ruined the churro for me. It just had too much going on. The homemade vanilla bean ice cream was good (although the churro should be able to stand on its own); the hot and cold and the melting chocolate is always a crowd pleaser.

We always save the "best" for "last". A simple thin pastry tart that was flaky, crispy, and light graced the bottom of the plate. Perfectly cooked apples which had been dusted in cinnamon came next. A simple scoop of homemade caramel ice cream sat on top of this wonderful foundation. Finally, another sprinkle of cinnamon finished this masterpiece. As you can probably imagine, this dessert was amazingly delicious. The warm cinnamon and sweetness from the apple harmoniously blended with the cold sweetness of the ice cream. With so many moist sensations the tart added the much needed crunch factor that just solidifies this dessert as an absolute must have. 
Other Info. : The coffee here is very good. It is served piping hot and has a very strong dark roast aroma. The milk is also hot when served. Tiny cookies also accompany the simple beverage. All in all, I had an enjoyable lunch and so did my dining companions. The food was quite good, although most of it lacked real Spanish flavours. I have also heard good things about dinner at FoFo's so I may be returning in the future for more. I also think that it would be wise to make a reservation if you plan to have lunch during the working week between 12:00pm - 2:00pm. The place is quite packed, which is always a good sign.

芝士拼盤, 兩款不同的芝士, 其3我是吃得較少的。一來是因為偏硬一點的芝士, 我沒有太大的喜好。蘋果木的車打芝士, 而另一隻應該是由羊奶做出來的芝士, 口感比較稔口。菜式伴以旁邊有果占, 可減低稔 口感; 而另外亦有一個用紅莓來做的啫喱。二來, 大家都肚餓還是要吃多一點。

接下來的是一個以醃鯖魚為底, 中層夾雜Mousse, 而上層是甘筍汁。下層的鯖魚略鹹而宙彈性, 鹹度剛好給中間的Mousse中和, 表面的甘筍汁與幾片的露筍形成了鮮香, 而且還帶點甜味。

這個你雖然看似只似一堆模糊的景象, 但其實味道很不錯。這是一個茄子蓉, 稔連的口感中帶少許爽口的嚼勁, 而且涼口有點清爽感。加上芝士, 甘筍汁及三文魚籽, 來了一個多種鮮味的菜式, 感覺不錯。三文籽一粒粒晶瑩脆口, 咬下"卜"的聲, 然後口中滲出動人的海水鹹香。

就連簡單的一個沙律也用上了不少於四款的沙律菜混合, 加上大隻, 外皮帶少少紫紫綠綠顏色的蕃茄, 好汁亦好肉, 令味道更清爽。沾上了意大利陳醋及麵包粒, 感覺更完整。

而相比上面的各個前菜, 我更喜歡這個八爪魚。餐廳將爽口味淡但容易咬開的八爪魚切成片, 之後混有沙律汁, 芝士以及少許的紅椒粉。感覺惹味而有鮮香, 但並不真正的辣。八爪魚的鮮爽也被帶出, 不過更好的是八爪魚肉質就十分軟稔, 不用太多咀嚼功夫。

燒乳豬件, 火候控制不錯。乳豬脂肪溶化成半油狀, 令乳豬件亮麗而有光澤, 肉質嫩滑而有燒過的香味。底層墊有數片薯仔片增強口感。不過乳豬皮仍是未能讓人滿意, 可能因為我們都是廣東人吧!

相比之前各樣, 這個奄列就比較差了。上桌時已經是不脆口, 空有外表賣相, 入口更韌, 而且味道淡。不能說有蛋香, 連煎過的感覺都沒有。

這是一個Slow-Cooked的牛肉面頰, 經長時間精煮, 肉質組織分解, 令牛肉入口有半溶的感覺。然而面頰肉質中間相間夾著一條一條的水晶肉, 卻為肉質提供可口而有嚼勁的彈性。不過醬汁略嫌稠了一點, 味精相較鹹一些, 但峴我來說可以接受。下層是一個熱情果香蕉卷, 被上次Smile的熱情果香蕉的勁酸味道嚇到, 這次因牛肉汁醬濃稠, 所以顯不出什麼味道來, 還是可以幫助清爽一下口腔吧!

大蝦西班牙海鮮飯, 這個真是失敗中的經典。飯粒半生熟, 粒粒有嚼勁, 不會覺得死實, 相信絕對是好用料。大蝦肉厚, 隻隻有彈性, 而且烤得甚香, 感覺很不錯。不過飯的調味卻是不可理解, 以蕃紅花為首的各樣香料及調味, 用料不差, 不過這個西班牙飯卻鹹得過份。初時一口未覺有問題, 之後越吃越鹹。可幸的是這個飯未算入口即鹹到苦, 但已令口腔十分辛苦。結果明明肚內還有空但仍剩下半碟。當場大廚也有出來, 但只跟我桌旁的兩位女士寒暄, 之後就急步回廚房, 這刻也有點點衝動想截住他問個究竟。

之後家人點上了幾個甜品, 我只吃這個玉桂條, 簡單可口而覺鬆脆。玉桂條在口中解體, 帶點甜味與香料香, 沾上雪糕感覺清涼, 能夠消鹹, 味道更好。

整體來說, 我認為餐廳在Tapas的配搭上其實不錯, 特別在處理海鮮作料之上, 味道的平衡表達得更好。不過如要在主菜上選擇的話, 我就覺得餐廳無甚突出之處。順帶一提, 餐廳很多菜式都是以四件為基的, 如果五個人, 有時難免在分享有黠尷尬。
