This is definitely one of the top 10 restaurants in Hong Kong. The food is incredibly good, try the barbecued pork, the foie gras, the garlic shrimp and the lobster and shrimp cake. For dessert, the churros are delicious, even an expert will notice they are extremely well done. The Cava is great, not too expensive. The service is also 10/10.I want to try more tapas next time, although the lobster paella also looks appealing.

I don't know why there was such a big difference between the two visits, but Hong Kong does need creative fusion restaurants that can turn out fine creations. Hope they will improve in the near future.

I have been to FoFo three times now and I am really puzzled about why some of the reviews here are so critical. The only thing I find offensive is the bill: HK$5,800 for 5 people including 2 bottles of Rioja. I have been to FoFo three times now and I am really puzzled about why some of the reviews here are so critical.

The only thing I find offensive is the bill: HK$5,800 for 5 people including 2 bottles of Rioja. Let's forget this and move one to the food. Or rather, let's stick to the wine actually. It is one of the few places in Hong Kong where you can find a decent Spanish wine on the menu. We had two bottles of the Vega Sicilia "Alion" (Tempranillo); let's be simple in the description: it is a heavy red and it will certainly stain your lips by the end of the meal. It is however a great choice for what is to come.

The real attraction is the food. We were a pretty picky group: 2 were born in South America and three of us have lived in Spain for extended periods of time. What we figured is that FoFo does not make the kind of food you find on the Ramblas in Barcelona. It is not authentic. It is not really Spanish food though it has a lot of Spanish ingredients. But it is very good and can be quite inspired in many ways. We started with a very good Slow cooked foie gras with apple & mixed berries compote. The two jams do not mix very well but try them one after the other. The Saute wild mushroom with garlic are good but forgettable. The Grilled baby lamb rack with smoked eggplant & yogurt sauce were the favorite for several at the table. My personal favorite were the Crispy suckling pig with potato and mojo picon and the Mushroom and Iberico ham rice with hazelnut oil. We had a full portion of the latter and cleaned it up thoroughly. We finished with the Cheese platter (fine) and the Churos (really tasty if you grew up on it).

So let's summarize. Certainly too expensive but the food is a delight. It will clog your arteries but enough red wine will help in alleviating that issue. The fattiest dishes are the best.

I will definitely be back though not too often because neither by banker nor my doctor would allow me...

This was the second time that I went to this restaurant. In my first experience, i found the food of good quality and therefore I went there again with my husband. However, I had a very bad experience this time and this will make me decide NOT to visit this restaurant again.

We ordered the set lunch wihch included the soup, main course, drink and dessert. When the waiter delivered the soup to our table, the waiter was so careless that he dropped the plate and poured the soup to my husband's body. My husband's shirt, pants and jacket got wet. My husband was very angry (and I think any other persons will be angry too under this situation) and he asked for the manager. The manager did apologise, but he was saying things like "what can we do? we don't have extra shirt for you, maybe you can send the clothes for cleaning and we pay for that...." My husband responded that this would be very inconvenient as we need to bring back the receipt ....Finally, he agreed that he could give us a free lunch as compensation. We then sat there, continued our lunch with dissatisfaction. And I continued to spot the oily stains on my husband shirt, gave him wet tissues to clean up........the whole lunch was so boring as we had nothing to talk about except this unfortunate event!!

Finally we had finished our meal and decided to leave. At the moment when we were about to leave, the manager suddenly said to my husband that he would only waive my husband's set lunch but not mine! that means he was asking me to pay for my part!! My god....this made me extremely angry. I immediately told him that I was very dissatisifed with his service. This is a mid-tier restaurant which charges $238 for lunch which is not cheap at all. Although they are not hotel standard restaurants, I don't expect that their service and their attitudes can be that bad!! We did not enjoy the lunch at all, but they didn't think that they had done sth wrong. They think that it is a very big compensation for giving us a free lunch!! He never thinks about the inconveninec that he gave us. That my husband needed to wear that oily stained shirt the whole day, needed to send the clothes for drying cleaning.....etc.

The service that this restaurant delivered was extremely lousy. They won't improve as they have a restaurant manager who has this kind of attitude!! We wil definately not visit this restaurant again.

Yes, decoration is nice – cute, clean and modern (but seating was a little cramp). Ambiance is young and lively. There is an outdoor sitting area, which is one floor up from the restaurant. It has a great open view of the Central area (but no sea view). Fantastic for taking a drink and some snacks and chitchatting with a few friends, when the weather is good.

On the service side, the staffs whom had served us appear to be friendly and attentive. They seemed to be utterly busy that night but still able to be aware of what we might need or remember what we have asked for. Towards the end of the night, Chef Alex even took some time to chat with the customers at each table – maybe hoping to get some feedbacks and comments
.

Now that I think back, I believe we had not ordered a lot of dishes. It is not that the portions were big. On the contrary, portions were small and it’s good to share with 2 to 3 friends at a time. For bigger group, you might need to order more than one portion for each dish. In general, food quality was good that night and there were a few that I like more.

The following were what we sampled:
Potatoes in spicy sauce & aioli – Not spicy at all. I think it’s just so so.
Scallop ceviche avocado & crispy shallots – I like very much. Very refreshing and light and appetizing.
Foie gras tomato chili jam, basil & popcorn powder – Good
Beef cheek with banana & passion fruit crispy roll – Love this! Beef was very tender but still taste like beef. Flavours were well balanced.
Boston lobster juicy rice – Not a fan of lobster but my friends said it’s good.

Desserts:
Rhubarb crumble with vanilla custard ice cream & dulce de leche – Not many places in Hong Kong serve desserts made with rhubarb. Well done!
Mango & white chocolate sandwich with puff pastry, raspberry compote & mixed berries sorbet – It’s yummy as well but prefer the rhubarb one.

The first impression was great, with a quirky and fun interior design and great staff. The wine list was surprisingly low on Spanish wines and, as everywhere else in Hong Kong, overpriced. We had the same bottle of Savignon Blanc in hip Shore after the dinner in Fo Fo which cost us 25% less.

The boquerones were dry and the fillets were small and while edible, very far from the real thing. The battered squids were just that without any finesses in the batter nor in the sauce. While not awful they were simply too plain to be found in a place with ambitions. The saute prawns had no real flavour of garlic and chilli, which is surprising as this is a standard spice combination, which is hard to fail with. The potato wedges were supposed to come with a spicy sauce, but lacked character and the potato was slightly soggy. The the beef strip loin was nice with tender meat and nice presentation. Having lost confidence in the menu we asked the waiter to recommend their signature dish which turned out to be the crispy suckling pig with spanish style potatoes. There was nothing crispy about that pig and the small slice of potato did not anything to the experience. Although still hungry we decided to give up eating and focus on the wine.

When the hype is over, Fo Fo will need to do something if they want to remain in business with so many tapas places in Hong Kong.

The wine suggested by a young guy there was very bad indeed. I doubt if he knows Spainish wine or not. You better choose your own wine instead of listening to their suggestion. I doubt he just wants to sell what he could earn the most.

After all, the food was above average, atmosphere was great because of their renovation, poor wine suggestion, poor wine knowledge and poor service. Not enough Spainish for a grand Spainish resturant.

I could not be more ecstatic when FOFO, a restaurant serving contemporary Spanish food, opened in Hong Kong.
Situated at the penthouse of M88 (building of Racks/Sushi Kuu/Beijing Club), one would immediately notice the Beautiful view of Central on one side, and the Mid-levels on the other.
I was so addicted to this restaurant, I used to go religiously every week for dinner (now slightly overdosed)..

LOVE Fofo's minimalistic decor and buzzing atmosphere. I always find FoFo a great place to host dinners or just dine with a group of friends. Their dishes are great for sharing and the tapas usually come in fours so ideally you'd go with a party of 4, you can't share that many dishes between 2 people anyway!
Warning: The tomato spread on bread they serve to you upon arrival are not that great. I would save my appetite for what comes next. Have tried some of their seafood dishes (scallop carpaccio/ garlic shrimp/ red shrimp pasta (special)).. in my opinion, such dishes were not that impressive....
Here are my recommendations * (after visiting 20+ times)
Balik Salmon Tapas - NEW on the menu and absolute BLISS! You get a fat piece of balik salmon curled up on top of a piece of goat cheese & beetroot, with a dap of honey and spinach leaf on a thin crispy slice of French Bread. Can have 10 of these!
Iberico Ham Croquettes - Love the mushy texture and crisp skin outside. I always order this because it goes well with other dishes! The iberico ham is kind of grinded up though so if you'd want a more substantial portion of ham I would go for the Iberico ham platter instead.
Beef cheeks on mini banana & passionfruit spring rolls - LOVE this dish, the beef cheeks are very tender and the flavour goes well with the crispy mini spring rolls. If you do not like cooked fruit in your dishes then I'd pass the spring roll along to your dining partner.
Organic egg on a nest of shoelace fries & onions with black truffle fois gras / chorizo / iberico ham: - This is my all time favourite dish, have tried all 3 lots of times and I think they're all worth ordering.. Just depends on your preference of toppings.Sometimes I get it plain because i Loveeee the crispy shoelace fries on their own.
Spanish chorizo omelette - Slightly inconsistent but on a good day it is the perfect round spanish omelette... LOVE the chorizo goes so well with the white sangria.
Whole Roasted Baby Suckling Pig ($1180HKD, must Reserve) - This dish is perfect for a party of 6-8 ppl. The baby suckling pig is comparatively more tender and juicy than the tapas version. A great dish to impress your guests as they show you the baby suckling pig (with an apple in its mouth), before serving. I think it is way better than the Suckling pig tapas - but then again big difference in price. I find the suckling pig tapas to be rather dry at times - Best to ask for extra gravy.
Seafood Paella - This is definitely my Favourite paella in town. The rice is cooked perfectly, kind of el dente, and when mixed with the Aioli cream (what looks like sour cream on top) is absolutely delightful! If you don't want spanish rice and prefer something different, I would order the Spanish dried noodles, same taste same presentation same toppings! A great dish to share between 4 people.
Pigeon rice with morels and fois gras - again NEW on the menu, a good change from the paella/spanish noodles, I found this dish to be very tasy and loved the morel-filled creamy rice. If you like dishes with a rich flavour, this is definitely one to order!
I must say I am not a big fan of their dessert. Have tried their Churros which are almost ALWAYS undercooked, even when refried just don't taste right. I hope by now they have improved... I always save space for dessert and go to Riquiqui instead which is a dessert bar in building next door.
If you like to drink, I highly recommend the White Sangria - what keeps me coming back!
They serve it in jugs as well but I personally think it taste better by the glass.
FOFO also serves Red and Rose sangria (not rose wine but white wine with grapefruit juice).. the White sangria is still my all time fav

While i was in Shanghai, I tried the original FoFo - called El Willy, and am Happy to say that FOFO in HK does better White Sangria and Chorizo Organic egg with shoelace fries - the Chorizo of the Shanghai version was mushed up. Was also lucky enough to meet Chef El Willy himself! What a treat.. even told him what a big fan I was of FoFo!

Wine list was not extensive and not too expensive either, but we had some good bottles and we ordered a pretty good riesling to go with our food.

I really liked the decor and the service was good except for at the end, when it took forever to get our coffees and dessert.

Starter:

Main course:

Dessert:
