朋友以前住黃埔,知我鍾意食咖哩,就帶左我黎食menu上全部野都係齋,所以素食人士可以盡情嗌野食首先,佢個燒印度式芝士好出色,味道偏濃,芝士似halumi cheese嘅口感,實際上係咩芝士我唔sure夾落酥餅度食就岩岩好。如果喜歡食辣既仲可以同老闆娘講要辣d~個人應為辣d更加惹味冇對比就冇傷害,可能個芝士太好食,一黎就打左大佬,變相佢個咖哩就差左少少,味道略嫌唔夠香濃,有點失色仲叫左個薯仔酥餅,er⋯⋯個人就應為冇乜特別得黎,有點點淡,我會寧願食返酥餅點咖哩🤣🤣🤣不得不提嘅係,佢個Masala tea真係好正好正好正,因為太正所以要講3次,一入口好大陣豆蔻味,勁香,雖然個奶茶係偏甜但香料既味道真係加好多分

We went to this restaurant a couple of days ago at around 8pm. We were strolling in Tsim Sha Tsui but decided to take a taxi to Hung Hom to dine in this restaurant because of all the positive things that I had heard about this restaurant ranging from the food and the service there. However, I was dissapointed from the entrance of the restaurant itself. Firstly, the restaurant was full at the time: however, the server completely ignored us and even didn't bother to say 'hello' or 'hi' despite seeing us very clearly. We thought that perhaps the server was busy so we chose to wait outside the door. Nonetheless, the server neither approached us nor even acknowledged our presence. We then decided to ask the server ourselves if we could get a table in an hour or so. She blatantly and rudely replied that many of the tables had just sat down and quickly ran away. That is what all she said.We felt very disrespected as this was the last thing that we could have ever imagined. If we were to be told politely that within an hour or so we would get a table, we would have waited happily. However, after receiving the rude encounter at the entrance itself, we had lost enough of our appetite that we couldn't even bear to stand there even for a few seconds. We immediately took a taxi back to Tsim Sha Tsui and luckily found another restaurant. This experience was totally unexpected and I had never been so rudely treated anywhere else. I had took my family there with great expectations but our expectations were ignored from the door itself.

At Sharmaji, they serve North and South Indian vegetarian food at affordable prices.

There were so many things I wanted to eat but in the end I went for the Noodles, Vegetable cutlet, Palak tikki and Pau bazi.

The vegetable cutlet and palak tikki were good but a bit too dry for my liking but it was good you can order by piece to try them out.

The Pau Bazi was buns with some curry and dips to complement it. It didn't look spicy but it was extremely spicy and you can taste more spices in this than other restaurants.

The fried noodles were a bit too soft but again super spicy.

The bill amounted to HK$123 so it wasn't that expensive.

這家餐廳有很多外國客人。剛踏入餐廳的時候,有七八個看似歐洲來的客人,夾雜著各國口音的英文聊天。這組客人走了之後,是另一群印度人,看似家人來著,一起來吃晚餐。還有三個香港人,外加我跟朋友兩個台灣人,一點都沒有感覺自己是在香港本土的生活圈裡。

好友和我都很喜歡吃餅,所以第一個點的就是薯仔酥餅。

印度式薯仔酥餅 (HKD38)

這個餅是現做的,讓我想到「三個傻瓜」這部電影裡,其中一個傻瓜的媽媽邊桿麵皮、邊用桿麵棒幫她丈夫搓腋下抓癢的樣子。這個餅應該很乾淨,不會像傻瓜一樣吃到朋友爸爸的胸毛或腋毛。 ^O^

擺成傘狀的薯仔酥餅,角落一旁放新鮮的辣椒醬佐味。這個辣椒醬有辣有鹹,略沾一點就有味道,不用沾很多。酥餅很香,餅咬起來帶有一點嚼勁,很好吃。

香蕉啥酥餅的 (HKD~50)

另外一種甜的餅,是香蕉甜餅。餅裡面包香蕉泥,吃起來軟軟甜甜的,很好吃。甜而不膩,在很餓的情況下,吃甜的餅,不會覺得不滿足。

佐醬是蜂蜜,但因為餅裡的香蕉泥已經很香甜了,不太需要沾蜂蜜增加味道。後來就把蜂蜜倒入水中,自己做蜂蜜水喝。

印度式芝士燴菠菜 (HKD68)

這個印度式芝士燴菠菜看起來很可口,印度料理都有這種充滿香料味的醬料式主菜,可直接吃或拿餅沾醬吃。印度式芝士(起司) Paneer很好吃,都做方塊狀入菜,咬起來有點嚼勁,在印度料理常常看到。

上網查了之後,才知道Paneer是印度料理的常客,是牛奶煮開後加醋或是檸檬汁產生乳酪,用紗布濾過壓出水份的鮮乳酪。

我是超級奶茶控,印度奶茶Masala Tea是我至愛中的至愛,每次到印度餐廳必點印度香料奶茶,喜歡喝奶與茶,配上荳蔻、丁香和薑末的味道。我上網找了印度香料奶茶的配料,發現其實還蠻簡單的,下次要來自己煮煮看。

香料奶茶Masala Chai (Indian Masala Tea) 所需食材(2杯份)

Ø 1 1/2杯的冷水

呢日叫左薄餅set,唔好睇少佢,食完係會超級飽。薄餅新解整起,熱辣辣,由2片好薄的薄餅組成,內面有少量洋蔥、咖哩、青椒,透出淡淡小麥香,食落係有咬口同「o趙」頭。可以點埋醬一齊食,不過今日個醬好辣下。呢度最好食係佢個乳酪,個人認為係神級,嗱! 甘個個人口味唔同,不過我搵左好多地方,呢度係令我念念不忘。佢乳酪味道唔太酸,口感豐盈而且滑溜 (絕對唔會一舊舊,食開乳酪的人應該知我講咩),同時仲加入莞茜(唔食莞茜就唔好試),又有小粒狀乳酪芝士,味道口感層次極為豐富。唔好睇少果幾片青瓜、紅蘿蔔,食埋佢,可以去下膩感(印度人食飯的確係會整一碟青瓜、紅蘿蔔、蕃茄送飯,可以一片片就甘食,唔洗撈野)。

最後,當然係飲Masala Tea無得輸。香料味重,奶唔算好多 (就Masala Tea而言,同最近一次去Sangeetha比,我比較喜歡呢度。之前係喜歡Sangeetha多d,最近去覺得佢口味有少少調整左),最重要係以呢個價錢而有呢個水準。我通常會叫佢地遲少少先上,可以熱d,而且食完野飲係最正,絕對係我的comfort drink。仲記得有日老闆娘比較得閑,遞上Masala Tea時仲同我同廣東話講左句「奶茶」,然後一齊喺度笑。

想食比較正宗又抵食印度素色,呢度係一個唔錯的選擇。

Other Info. : Menu有圖、有中文、英文,如果第一次食印度食物或印度素食唔知叫咩,可以問下店員,或者叫set。佢d set唔係出面d set,而係d好似2餸3餸果d sets。Dosa、米餅sets亦唔錯,單叫一件件炸物呢度亦係整得好好食。不過Lassi(飲的乳酪)就無冰,會厚身少少。至於印度Lemonade呢,唔建議叫,唔係人人接受到,我自己都接受唔到,如果想有新體驗就另當別論。

正式食咖喱之前,當然係一人一杯 Mango Lassi,不過不是叫係餐前飲晒佢,邊食邊飲最佳,因為這芒果奶昔是解辣的最佳飲品。可是,我們覺得這 Mango Lassi 稀左少少。

Channa Masala,三角豆咖哩,是有汁的咖喱,是沾薄餅食的佳物,而且三角豆 (也叫鷹咀豆)與咖喱基本上是一個絕配,入口,感受到咖喱的香同滑感覺,連帶豆也出現了滑的口感,沾薄餅好,撈飯,當然是更佳。

Pullow Rice,印度的七彩香料炒飯,而且一定要用上南亞產的 Basmati Rice 去炒才好食。飯料很乾身,香料帶出來的炸飯也份外的香口,我去食咖喱,不吃薄餅的話就一定吃呢一個飯。

Plain Dosa,這是真正的大薄餅,是南印度的風味,而且這一種薄餅 (所有薄餅都是)可以有好多不同的口味,然而,原味是最好味的。本身有一個咖喱汁俾你點,但我們眾人都覺得,就咁食也非常之好食,只是此店的 Dosa,咸左少少。

老闆娘友善,亦增添了是晚的素食聚會的歡樂,而印度的素食店,食過幾間,我得出的結論是,比起有肉食的咖喱店,健康多許多,起碼油用得比一般的素食店少,而且是食得出的。

經過聖誕除夕等等不繼PARTY TIME,BBQ的食肉獸生活,實在吃不消!趁與殭屍拍拖三個月特別日子,特意找一間特色素食-正宗百分百印度全素食品餐廳。  地點不太難找,我們6點幾到達,餐廳佈置像CAFE 的感覺。餐牌附上大大的相很方便點菜呢!最後點了兩個小食:炸薯仔餅,薯仔PANCAKE,一個漢堡包(唔記得咩名,是雜菜的),一個兩菜薄餅套餐套餐,兩杯LASSI印度乳酪飲品。他們很細心將所有食物也一開為二方便進食。  小食未到時,先有一支綠白色一支紅色的醬。  炸薯仔餅咖哩味噥,配上綠白色的香草乳酪醬感覺清新。  薯仔PANCAKE普通,未什麼特別。  之後來的是雜菜漢堡包,大大的,雜菜漢堡不太乾加香草乳酪醬更好。(什麼也加香草乳酪醬>< 殭屍擠在匙上,一匙一匙飲,殭屍的口味果然與別不同~)  套餐是兩大塊薄餅(大過我的面)加兩種咖哩兩塊青瓜兩塊紅蘿蔔,咖哩方面本人愛吃鮮黃素肉哪款。另一款有青豆薯仔比較稀。  呀!差點忘了乳酪,點了甜味和芒果味,兩種味一試後較愛甜味,芒果味有些噯味~還有原味和鹽味,下次一定要試試鹽味!P·S·好抵食 堆單$165

聖誕節前夕,我們一家人專程去試印度素食。這一間座落在青州街的印度餐廳,門面並不顯眼,裏面裝修普通,有幾張印度畫,座位也不多。老闆娘招呼我們坐在近門的四人坐,面向街景,十分舒服。桌上已經預備了餐具和水杯,還有一瓶水,自助式的。我點選了是日豆類、菜和一塊印度式酥餅套餐。頭盤是印度薄餅,香脆而不油,還有红、綠酱汁伴吃。菜原來是切片青瓜和紅蘿蔔,爽脆新鮮。豆是咖喱豆,非常入味,用酥餅沾咖哩汁吃,有酥餅的香,又帶着濃濃的汁,真是绝佳配搭,吃完還想再吃。另外還試了印度奶茶,它跟港式奶茶不同之-處是加入香料調製,喝上來也不錯,香料味不重,反而略甜,這剛好中和了我口腔的辣味。最後我想品嚐印度式薯仔班戟,$9@。不用久等,已經弄好,廚師將班戟分成小件,方便客人進食。班戟非常香口,裏面藏著薯仔粒和青椒,有口感和充滿咖哩香,真是一件美食,特別是喜歡吃薯仔的我,更是一試難忘!最後環望四周,發现了有多款甜品,可惜的是我已經飽足,要有待下次再光顧了。

I have eaten here on a few occasions and I have always opted for curd rice.  That may seem a little boring, I know, but it is actually a lovely dish.

The girl who greeted me each time was a daughter of the owners and she was very polite and helpful.  My order went to the kitchen and after about ten minutes or so, it came out.  It was as it should be and was served with sliced cucumber.

What is curd rice? Well, it is basically yoghurt (curd) mixed into a seasoned rice.  The main flavours are mustard seed, chillies, cumin and curry leaves.  It is a simple, but hearty and filling dish that is clean on the palate.

The rice here was good.  The rice was not over cooked, so it still had some integrity and it had fresh green chillies running through it.  The yoghurt had a good creaminess that was cut with sharpness.  Some of the dried red chillies could have been a little smaller, so as to chew more easily, but essentially it was a good dish.

I did try a burfi on the way out.  It did not have a strong flavour and I have had much better, but I can forgive them on the basis of their other food.  For only $40, it was a good stomach filler and gave me plenty of energy for the three hours of Muay Thai I did after.

另一日再去試了一個小食- 酥炸芝士餅 $12/個, 一攞埋來外型似中式炸荳腐, 炸色剛剛好的淺黃色, 芝士面簿簿一層脆片, 而內部則是似係兩片芝士夾心(綠色香料), 伴食的是一綠一紅的醬汁, 綠色的醬是香草乳酪醬, 紅色的醬是甜醬, 其實呢舊炸芝士乜都唔點都可以有味因為舊野本身已經有咸味,
而正餐則是Masala Dosa蒸米餅 淨係嗰條似係蛋餅捲起來的尺寸幾令人眼前一亮,足足有成13-14吋長, 內裏的薯茸餡其實只大概約半條左右, 所以有一半係吉的,同盤而來的有一小碟濕椰絲Coconut chutney微微的甜可以中和番部份辣味, 還有一小碗咖哩湯Sambar, 有食友話這店的比較多菜料及濃味, 米餅是簿簿的,厚度約2mm 外邊脆脆地底下的質感反而是有少少似簿海綿質感, 放上椰絲漿及咖哩湯海綿體吸盡湯汁, 味道/香氣甚為複雜, 咖哩湯的辣則是適合本地人的較為慢熱的辣, 當你食晒成碗湯後可能感覺到頭頂有汗水但並未滴下來那種, 而當日的奶茶來得很遲, 叫她上後還是要等了10分鐘以上,明白這店只一個廚師, 一個待應完全是一家人做晒, 最終拿來的茶當然係最熱的, 因為剛剛褒好的茶, 又等了一會才可以飲但當茶還是熱時香料的味道呼之欲出, 飲完之後半個鍾那荳蔻的香氣萦繞於口腔/喉道內,
估計這裏將會是自己的每週亮點!

Dal Kachori 是一種印度式炸/烤餅
Aloo Wada 是炸薯仔餅
Min Kofta 應該是一種雜菜咖哩 (Google 不到是什麼,kofta 是比較淡味的咖哩)
Vegetable biryani 大家應該很熟悉,是雜菜炒印度飯,好像叫了一個是套餐的樣子。內有雜菜粒,香料味濃,我頗為喜歡。
Paratha 當然是咖哩的好朋友,我吃了一大塊,好飽!
除了印度食物之外,原來這裡還有得吃 burger、三文治還有中式炒麵!(我記得好像還有 pizza?) Vegetable Sandwich 我只拍了照,伴薯條吃風格比較像茶餐廳的公司治。
Fried noodles 都幾有板有眼的喎。
後來有人推介一款椰菜花酥餅,樣子像咱們中國人的蔥油餅,即是將椰菜花混入粉漿裡煎,蘸醬汁吃香口得很。

我們一邊吃著美味的印度素菜,一邊笑談兩地素食風氣,不知不覺談到店家打烊,真的很開心!
更重要的是,這裡的食物價錢非常經濟,大家吃到撐每人都只花港幣 40 多元, 真的平到笑!
