title says it all. i have had the worse experience ever. I was here expecting to try their famous pork dishes I’ve always hear of. Actually, the food itself is wonderful and some of the cocktails were pretty delicious. However waiter missed my super mondays offer and claimed that“I” was responsible of not reminding them to bring my free dish. haha wonderful.

這是那天早上匆忙間在restaurant week訂位的。Restaurant week 有既定的menu。頭盤有green pea soup 或 salad with pork neck。salad 酸酸甜甜的,有醒胃的感覺。主菜有4款,好可惜沒有suckling pig,只好點pig legs 和slow cook pork linguini。也不錯ge甜品有warm brownie 或 red wine pear。warm brownie 是比較對味,還附有雪糕還附有餐茶。以$118這價錢來說,挺划算

I was "gently reminded" by my wife that today was the day I first met her a number of years ago.


I was, on the one hand, trying to maintain a cool facade like I knew it all along, while frantically trying to think of an appropriate place for dinner.

I required somewhere solid, dependable and most importantly - with seats available despite last minute booking. A number of steakhouses and Spanish/Portuguese restaurants came to mind but those were all fully booked. Fortunately, there was the Salted Pig.

First came the Scotch egg.

This was surprisingly good. Perfect half boiled egg wrapped in wonderfully marinated minced pork and crunchy breadcrumbs.

Definitely one of the best Scotch egg I've ever had in Hong Kong. Those served here was far better than the one served at a Scottish Pub, the Canny Man.

No wonder every table had one of this. Highly recommended.

True to it's theme, even the scallops here were wrapped with bacon. The scallops were firm and their umami mixed well with the bacon. My only quibble is that the scallops were slightly overcooked.

I also enjoyed the fresh green peas with cream. The peas were not mashed but were nice and crunchy.

Nice crispy skin, tender meat and not too fattening. The gravy was excellent, bursting with vegetable flavors. The refreshing tomato base was particularly pronounced.

The potion was perfect for sharing. This was much better than the one I had at their Central branch a while ago.

The vegetables that came with the pork belly were great too. The carrots and zuchini were crunchy and very sweet.

At the beginning, we were thinking which food containing pork is worth trying. As the name of the restaurant mentioned "pig" . We must try "pig". The second dish of pig is the " pig leg". 朋友生日,原本打算某間同區既韓國餐廳,但去到才知得45分鐘用餐時間,即時轉場。咁啱前一兩日係Facebook見到有朋友黎過呢間餐廳好似唔錯,所以最後決定黎一試究竟。平日七點左右到,未有太多人,一行七人坐左係中間既長檯。雖然未齊人,但大家都有D肚餓,所以決定叫啲野食先。特式凍肉platter,內有蘇格蘭蛋、炸豬腩肉片、肉凍批(Menu叫餐肉)、Salami香腸同風乾火腿,仲有啲火箭菜點綴。Scotch egg蘇格蘭蛋係用類似漢堡既肉包住雞蛋去炸,呢到既Scotch egg蛋黃流心,外層既肉炸得剛好,肉汁保存得好好,唔會太乾。一片片既炸豬腩肉又乾又脆,但唔好以為咁就會乾增增,因為platter入面有一個肉醬可以加埋黎食,令原本無咩味既肉片好味左之餘又無咁乾,而炸肉片又十分香脆,互相增色不少。不過炸腩片有啲硬,對牙唔好或者唔鍾意咁硬既野食既人就免啦。肉凍批Menu入面叫餐肉,可能係要融入香港人吧。原本未食時好驚會有肉腥味,但入口就發現好好食,好乎合香港人既口味,難怪叫佢做餐肉。風乾火腿包住左粒醃珍珠洋蔥,中和左鹹味之餘又帶出火腿既香味,Salami香腸則原原本本已經好香,無需再配其他野食。墨

朋友生日,原本打算某間同區既韓國餐廳,但去到才知得45分鐘用餐時間,即時轉場。咁啱前一兩日係Facebook見到有朋友黎過呢間餐廳好似唔錯,所以最後決定黎一試究竟。
平日七點左右到,未有太多人,一行七人坐左係中間既長檯。
雖然未齊人,但大家都有D肚餓,所以決定叫啲野食先。
特式凍肉platter,內有蘇格蘭蛋、炸豬腩肉片、肉凍批(Menu叫餐肉)、Salami香腸同風乾火腿,仲有啲火箭菜點綴。
Scotch egg蘇格蘭蛋係用類似漢堡既肉包住雞蛋去炸,呢到既Scotch egg蛋黃流心,外層既肉炸得剛好,肉汁保存得好好,唔會太乾。
一片片既炸豬腩肉又乾又脆,但唔好以為咁就會乾增增,因為platter入面有一個肉醬可以加埋黎食,令原本無咩味既肉片好味左之餘又無咁乾,而炸肉片又十分香脆,互相增色不少。不過炸腩片有啲硬,對牙唔好或者唔鍾意咁硬既野食既人就免啦。
肉凍批Menu入面叫餐肉,可能係要融入香港人吧。原本未食時好驚會有肉腥味,但入口就發現好好食,好乎合香港人既口味,難怪叫佢做餐肉。
風乾火腿包住左粒醃珍珠洋蔥,中和左鹹味之餘又帶出火腿既香味,Salami香腸則原原本本已經好香,無需再配其他野食。

墨西哥辣椒忌廉粟米,原本同朋友擔心Jalapeno會好辣,但食落唔算太辣之餘,仲令個Cream Sauce增加左份味道,粟米粒亦都香甜,作為頭盤小食的確唔錯。

之後朋友到齊,開始叫主菜。
招牌咸豬手,同平時食炸到脆曬嗰種好唔同,外皮微脆之餘好有膠質感,但唔會覺得肥膩,豬手肉亦煮得夠淋。應該係慢慢燜煮完先再去烤焗,所以肥油唔多,對平時怕肥而唔食咸豬手既人可以一試。伴碟既酸菜味道唔太濃烈,唔會搶左豬手既味道,亦十分開胃。

慢煮脆皮豬腩,最為期待既一味菜,亦無令我失望。豬腩有啲似中式既燒肉,皮十分香脆,因為慢煮既關係,肥油唔多,但保留左肉既肉汁,點上微微酸既醬汁,絕對令人想動口食多件。伴碟既甘荀亦好甜好Fresh,薯仔沙律亦唔錯。

飲品方面朋友們叫左幾款MOCKTAIL,朋友都話好味,但筆者只飲左Asahi(豬手緊係配啤酒!),所以唔作多評論。
眼見樓面得兩個人,人多時人手有啲應接唔切,但用餐途中都見到一個Waitress同客傾下計咁,算係幾好了。
整體食物質數都好好,雖然煎炒炸既食物多但都唔油膩,但份量比較少,所以要叫多幾樣先飽,價錢亦隨之提高,但係值得再黎既。

一直都覺得諾士佛臺是一個「飲野」的地方多過「食野」的地方,裡面的餐廳都試過好幾間但又沒有哪幾間特別深刻,今次和好友慶祝生日,選了一間叫"The Salted Pig",環境不錯啦!環境不算太嘈,Si到達時大概晚上七時多,有Happy Hour時段,好像到八點,可能因為叫"The Salted Pig"吧,牆上的畫都是以豬為主,十分可愛。因為我們只得兩個人,所以都不敢點太多食物,趁著有Happy Hour,我們每人點了兩杯酒。第一樣點的是凱撒沙律。菜都新鮮,醬汁正常,味道沒有特別,不過份量不算大。第二樣是芝士通心粉,不過這款味道比較淡,芝士味亦不濃,同樣份量都不算大。第三樣是招牌款式脆皮乳豬。皮好脆!!這個乳豬我覺得很好吃!配有薯茸和少許蔬菜,不過要趁熱吃啦,冷了就覺得有點膩,而且皮都不脆了,但新鮮的時候真的很好吃!因為是好友生日的關係,在訂枱的時候已經要求了寫生日快樂和好友的名字在蛋糕上。。由於不放心所以在點甜品前已提醒了服務員。。可是最後呀。。都是沒有名字(心碎了)心太軟普普通通啦,不過沒有名字的甜品是全晚的敗筆了。

Si到達時大概晚上七時多,

十分可愛。

因為我們只得兩個人,

第三樣是招牌款式脆皮乳豬。
皮好脆!!
這個乳豬我覺得很好吃!
配有薯茸和少許蔬菜,
不過要趁熱吃啦,冷了就覺得有點膩,
而且皮都不脆了,
但新鮮的時候真的很好吃!

因為是好友生日的關係,
在訂枱的時候已經要求了寫生日快樂和好友的名字在蛋糕上。。
由於不放心所以在點甜品前已提醒了服務員。。
可是最後呀。。
都是沒有名字(心碎了)
心太軟普普通通啦,

食店的用餐碟很漂亮,雖然與整體裝潢不太搭調,但我還有忍不住把它拍下來留個記念。

之前看見食店用上有一個很有特色的餐巾,餐巾都綉有一隻小豬的圖案。原來還想來拍一張仮面三號騎豬豬的照片,可惜不知甚麼原因當日餐巾全部收起,餐桌上只放上普通的餐紙巾,有點失望。

除了食物牌,酒牌內的選擇也有很多,令人看得更眼花瞭亂。

很快點了食物,亦順道要求了服務員給我們幾杯水。

"Can we have some water, pls?"

This is such a simple sentence. I don't think the waitress can misinterpret my request.

等了五分鐘,沒有水送上來。

再向部長級職員要求幾杯水,部長點了頭亦便離去。

再等了五分鐘,麵包都已送上,但是幾杯水依舊沒有踪影……

再向第三個服務員ask for water....此時這服務員詢問我們要distrilled water還是sparkling......

"Can we have the tap water?"

"Em...sorry we don't have tap water..."

"??!!…"

其實不供應免費水也不是最大的問題,最大的問題是最初兩位服務員為甚麼都沒有向我們道出這個事實,而只是點頭離去模棱兩可,害我們百等一場?

慢煮後的豬肉表皮脆口,底層肥瘦有致,鬆軟入味,細嚼下竟有幾分吃着中式冰燒三層肉的感覺,但又有着西方的調味素質,是食店高水準的菜式,值得大力推薦!

全碟最好吃的,反而是底下的燉肉。將香腸肉及鴨肉伴在一起去燜煮,鴨肉絲與香腸肉粒煮得軟腍入味。肉的份量亦不少,吃到的肉可能比從豬腿上撕下來的肉還多。

除了豬餚,也試了一些豬肉以外的菜式。

蒜片蟹肉扁意粉,賣相不錯,最令人津津樂道的是蟹肉的份量。

一如其他菜色,蟹肉意粉也是煮得相對乾身,感覺到厨師沒有用上很多油去弄這碟意粉。正因為這樣,反而更能吃到蟹肉的鮮味。

問題又來。為甚麼芝士不是夾在兩塊漢堡中央的呢?如果不是夾在兩塊漢堡中央,那跟吃一塊芝士伴一塊厚切漢堡有甚麼大分別呢?

太多問題不得要領,但也無用深究,說到底味道先行,食物好吃就是了。

漢堡包做得不錯,麵包也夠軟熟,牛肉味道濃郁,不過原來點的五成熟漢堡牛扒變了七八成熟,稍稍欠缺了肉汁的潤飾。跟漢堡包的薯條亦很新鮮夠脆,即叫即炸之作。

綜觀食店食物水準還真不錯。

更感意外的是,埋單時發現食店不是免去最平的兩道菜,而是免去較貴兩道菜中價錢較低的一道,與及餘下較平兩道菜中價錢較低的另一道菜。加一亦是以免去兩道菜之後的價錢計算,對客人非常公道。

若果不是tap water的處理失當,這個生日飯局便更完滿。
