跟老友相聚, 相約在人不多的星期一晚上。很久沒有去諾士大臺的我, 就隨隨便便走入第一間的餐廳! 其實係因為小妹穿上高跟鞋, 腳已經很累, 不想再往前走, 而隨便選擇的。記得以前這餐廳的前身是食澳洲菜的, 味道在印象中是不錯的。一踏入餐廳, 不用等位, 也不用訂位, 可直接坐下。環顧四周, 裝修好似跟以前分別不大, 可能也是賣暗光線的路線。Beer Battered Fish and Chips很普通的菜式, 外層太油, 炸醬也太厚了,沒有Beer Battered所帶來的鬆軟感覺! 埋單7百多, 這餐廳的食物質數, 個人覺得只是一般, 或者再來的時候, 只會飲野吧! 但服務生的態度是不錯的!

菇類扁意粉, 由大得無可再大的碟, 載上少得應該不可以再少的意粉, 上檯, 當然, 大碟這是”高級”餐廳所必備的食具. 類似Carbonara的味道, 但沒有Ham和濃的蛋味, Linguini 煮得剛好, 入口彈牙. 醬汁也不太傑.

在美麗華商場吃過晚餐後,時間尚早,便到旁邊的諾士佛臺找個地方坐坐,跟女友人談談心再回家。星期六晚上的諾士佛臺人很多,要找個位置也不容易,看到上樓梯後的第一間餐廳有位置,就直接走進去。由於剛吃完晚飯,我們沒點食物,友人點了杯House Wine - Red ($88),而我則點了無酒精飲品Red Strawberry Tea ($58),紅色的士多啤梨茶內有幾塊士多啤梨片作為裝飾,喝第一口茶味香濃,也不會太甜,但攪拌後喝第二口,實在太甜,士多啤梨糖醬的甜味完全蓋過茶香,無法接受,又不想浪費,只好叫店員提供冰塊,嘗試溝淡甜度,前後加了4杯冰塊,甜度才變得適中。坐了大概半小時,看到旁邊的食客點了一份薯條,看似吸引,雖然是飽,但我們還是點了一份。Fries ($48) 有番茄汁和辣汁2款醬料,薯條炸得香脆可口,雖然很熱氣,但我們還是吃過不停。整體環境舒適,服務態度良好,只是音樂稍為有點大聲,傾談會有些吃力。

Casual Wednesday dinning for 3 pax set me back $16xx. 3 starters, 3 mains, a pitcher of beer and 2 extra pints. Portions were overall less then generous.

The Game Hen was the tastest among the mains we ordered. Quite succulent. The suckling pig was quite crispy and not oily. However, there wasn't much meat. The ribs were a bit on the dry side and resembled more like a half rack.

As for hygiene, Knutsford Terrace is Knutsford Terrace.

-Upon our arrival, the male receptionist wasn't very accommodating, we booked in advance, it was a lunch hour at 1:30pm; the restaurant was 2/3 empty, we saw a seating with sofa and we would like to sit there, however, the receptionist has put up to the middle table and surrounded by the tables which are very tight and packed.
-After we were sitted, we saw the receptionist leading a couple (2 people) to the comfy sofa seats; there were still quite a lots of comfy sofa seats available; thus, we polity requested we want to move table. Once I said it to him, he has given me a very blunt impression, and did not give me any responses, he just turned round and set the table. so we just moved over automatically.
-We were little annoyed, it was a little request to get a comfy sofa seating at 2/3 empty restaurant on a Saturday and we needed to put up with kind of attitude, this is unacceptable.

That was when I realized they are no longer at the L place, but there is a branch exisiting at Knutsford Terrace at TST. Deciding to try it out anyway, we booked a table for 2 on a Saturday night. It was a nightmare to park along Kimberly road on a Saturday night, and it took Fat Man a good 20 minutes to secure a spot for the car. When we reached the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table quickly.

For appetizer, we opted for the seared tuna salad. I settled for BBQ ribs while Fat Man got the roast chicken risotto. The salad was quite disappointing as I didn’t really like the dressing. It was a little too sweet for my liking. The portion was also quite small. It was a good thing that the main courses were pretty awesome. Deliciously sticky, my ribs were super tender. The generous slab was enough to share between two. Fat Man pretty much ate 3/4 of my ribs. The consistency of the fries that accompanied the ribs was excellent, except I didn’t like the MSG-laden topping it came with. Personally, I thought Fat Man made a huge mistake to order risotto at a place like Salted Pig when they clearly specialize in all things relating to oink oink. However, I was proven wrong when I took a bite of the risotto. Wow! The risotto was cooked to perfection and the roast chicken shreds compliment the flavors very well. In general, the meal was pretty enjoyable. Service was also efficient and friendly. Will we come back again? You bet!

Potted Salmon把三文魚醃好後打成蓉,過程令當中油脂得以充份溢出,醃好的三文魚蓉完全不腥,而配上的酸瓜又能中和過膩的感覺,如果大家在便利店買得多三文魚蓉來塗麵包,那一定要試一下這道菜,那是完全兩種等級。麵包口感鬆脆,加上一大把三文魚蓉和爽甜的酸瓜,讓人欲罷不能。

 Scotch Egg是一種很傳統的西餐美食,先把蛋蒸半熟再在外皮醮上麵包糠和肉腸碎,拿去焗。店家可以把蛋做成流心更考功夫,撒些黑椒鹽,而煙肉碎則另上,煙肉碎油脂極豐,放在蛋上再一口吃罷,複雜卻又細膩的味道,帶給口腔的是一種滿足,可惜一道Scotch Egg只有一隻蛋,我們卻有六個人,結果再叫兩道,反正賬單是吃完才看得見,所以?管他的。

Beer Batter是一種炸漿的名稱,加以啤酒令之有更多氣泡,從而更為鬆軟。

Pork Knuckle 作為The Salted Pig中的名菜,並不會名大於實,上碟時己經切好,沒有了欣賞的眼福,外皮仍然脆實,肉地軟腍,醮料我相信相對簡單,豬手的原味得以保留,少少的鹽已經足夠釣出味道,是一種原始自然的香。

The Taster既然稱得上為Taster,當然是什麼也有一些啦!Macaroni and Cheese非常惹味,芝士味極濃郁,如果可以偏咸一點會更好。Chicken Salt fries比Fish and chips有過之而無不及,醮醬吃更是更一流,我個人比較喜歡有味道的薯條。Smokey pork belly風乾很有嚼勁,是很香口的菜色。BBQ Ribs和Fried chicken就很普通了,前者可以再酸一些,後者可以再入味一些。Harissa是一種辣椒醬,Harissa pork shanks不會太辣而軟腍。整體來說我還是覺得這Taster有點不值,有種多而不專的感覺,每樣菜色都能嘗到,卻都不是很特別,就個人而言下次還想試一試其他的呢。

Rosemary and Garlic Roasted Chicken,是晚最滿意的菜式,比之豬手更甚。口腔完全不用力,可以焗得如此軟腍實在是很難得,火候掌握得恰度好處,很不好意思相片濛了,但味道絕不含糊就是了。
上了大學是我人生最快樂的日子, 住了宿舍,無拘無束,總覺得大學與學歷無關,珍貴在這是一種其他地方找不到的人生體驗。

自問並不活躍,但交了這班朋友,和另一班朋友,已經令我三年無悔。

男人相見,話題總離不開女生,當然都是一些無聊戲言,然後粗口横飛,再接住。

Pork Knuckle ($278): 等左一陣主角豬手終於上枱。可能因為晚市人太多既關係上枱既時候已經切好晒,唔似以前中環午市既時候可以俾你「餵相機食先」再攞埋一邊同你「分屍」。Anyway,豬手一如以往做到個皮鬆脆之餘而裏面既肉卻非常juicy,值得一讚!雖然冇乜點用調味料,但咁樣反而可以帶出肉既鮮味,唔會被seasonsing喧賓奪主,遮晒肉應有既鮮味!至於配菜既紅蘿蔔同埋coleslaw方面一般般啦,個人黎講俾較鍾意食Ribs果款酸酸甜甜既多D!

Overall食物質素繼續唯持喺中上,成餐飯只係$200幾蚊一個人都算幾抵食!不過我覺得如果兩個人的話只係叫Pork Knuckle同埋Ribs已經夠晒飽。另外要留意呢度幾乎係全英語對白,雖然都有幾個ABC個樣似係識中文,但都要有心理準備expect佢地第一句必定同你講英文。

Potted salmon with lemon butter, pickle and toast相對起來賣相及味道就更特別,將三文魚啄成蓉後混和酸瓜粒後放於一個玻璃小樽後奉客,當中很見心思;三文魚蓉不腥滑溜魚油脂極豐,吃時添一口酸瓜更有醒胃消滯之效;至於那檸檬牛油入口微酸但又有牛油應存的香與滑,口感特別;多士薄薄一小片脆到無倫....

之前提過的切件法式長棍麵包夾豬腩肉的滋味就比淨食差得遠了,腩肉切成薄片略經半煎炸後感覺像在吃煙肉一般,帶肥的皮的部份很有焦香但瘦肉就有些粗嚡;baguette的外皮脆口而內裡軟熟,但若然可再熱一點的話就能帶出麵粉香了;包內除了有肉以外就只有生菜片、蕃茄及少許楓蜜芥辣醬,入口算是美味的,但對我來講,小弟還是較喜歡淨食一件厚厚的豬腩肉,那種脂香豐富的口腹感受才是最美妙的....

另外要補充一點的是我兩口子在整個主食中最愛的反而是那一大堆的chicken salt fries。薯條本身看來頗像麥記的出品,驟吃雖甚普通但在添上以加入了香草及其他香料作調味的鹽下去撈勻味來食,惹味及香辣度頓然提昇了一倍也不止,故縱然知道是將會塞一大堆味精下肚,還是忍不住用手拿起一條又一條....

Today I tried The Salted Pig. I love Knutsford Terrace resturants and The Salted Pig is no exception.  I started with their French Cabernet which was vibrant, flavorful, with hints of fruit and spice.  Nice, especially since they run happy hour until 8 pm.  I ordered the full slab of baby back ribs.  I was craving some BBQ after a full night of drinking the night before.  They did not dissapoint. Today I tried The Salted Pig. The sides were French Fries and Cole Slaw.  The fries were seasoned perfectly.  I couldn't stop eating them.  The slaw was nice too, but could use a little salt to make it just right.   Overall, I enjoyed my meal and to top it off, they gave me two glasses of wine "on the house". Not something I've experienced here much.   Great job "Salted Pig".

雖沒有叫湯喝,但侍者仍是端來了一小籃的烘麵包給小弟。包用上一個像藤籃的容器盛着,很特別。包本身烘得熱至燙手外皮還帶點點脆及flaky,內裡也軟綿綿挺有麵粉香的;牛油雖雪得偏硬身,用刀一切底下便變成十分的細碎吃時甚不便,不過店方卻是很有心思的在牛油裡面加了不少葱粒,入口香得不得了。這一味"葱油",若是用來塗麵包的話,吃它兩三籃應是等閒事....

沙律的件頭實在大得可以,如果由一位食量較少的女仕來嚐的話,對她來講這已是主菜一道了。生菜大大片的每塊也新鮮綠油油,咬入上嗦嗦有聲;醬汁份量是剛好的不會弄至碟底水汪汪或油淋淋,調出來的酸味也未令人食至咪眼很恰到好處;豬手肉雖被撕成碎條但仍吃得出皮爽肉嫩的特質,鹹味同樣是適中不會導至人十分咯喉;置中的溫泉蛋火喉控制是一流的 ---- 蛋白十分夠watery另外中心的蛋黃亦一點沒有過老變硬,入口甘香滑溜....

在看menu時見到主菜一欄內有roasted pork belly這一味番鬼佬燒肉便毫不猶豫的叫了。上桌一端來時看已覺不會太差,已猛在吞口水
。習慣上先吃一口相對地難處理得好的較瘦的部位,咬落是相當的嫩口,第一關算是通過了;接着再試中段重脂肪的地方,只覺出奇地不過膩而不會食至一口油;至於燒肉皮就更是薄而香脆得有如在吃薯片般。不過唯一不太合意的便是肉的醃味稍覺不足,食起來有點太淡口。但話分兩頭,有些人可能會覺這樣才能嚐得出豬肉的真諦來;Side dish的薯蓉亦同樣有水平 --- 夠軟滑之餘亦滿有牛油味香濃 (雖比起盧布松的仍是不及);沙律的調味就只有橄欖油及sherry vinegar,勝在簡單不花巧但用於消除豬腩肉的肥膩卻是大有裨益....

今日要去尖沙咀取中藥,於是去剛在尖沙咀開分店的 The Salted Pig吃午飯,因為想吃我很喜愛的紅菜頭BB菠菜沙律。看過菜牌才知道尖沙咀店和中環店的菜式並不相同。我的沙律(忘記了拍照!)沒有芝士和車厘茄,改為乳酪醬和果仁碎,頓時令我覺得失色,而且菠菜葉很老,沙律又毫無酸味,令我有點失望。 主菜我選了紅菜頭豬肘肉三文治,雖然肉的份量很少,不過味道不錯,而且伴碟的薯條很好吃。因為之後會去咖啡室吃下午茶,所以沒有點甜品和咖啡。要讚一下侍應很殷勤,經常為我添水。這兒剛開業不久,連午市套餐的餐單還沒預備好,希望日後在各方面會有所改善。

We were excited to hear they were opening up in TST, haven't tried the Central one, but in summary enjoyed and will go back again.The service was great, one of the waiters was very attentive to us all night even when it got busier. We were excited to hear they were opening up in TST, haven't tried the Central one, but in summary enjoyed and will go back again.

The service was great, one of the waiters was very attentive to us all night even when it got busier. Btw this was a Friday night so it did get busier.

Food was great too. Started with the croquettes which were divinely cheesy and porky. Then we had pork belly starter, that was nice a crispy. Then we got the ribs which were nice and tasty. Some people don't like the very soft fall off the bone, this had some bite to it which was a nice change. Also came with big side of chips which was good value.

Had the watermelon cocktail tea which was a nice big serving and fresh watermelon juice, very refreshing considering the hot weather.

Wonderful thank you, it's certainly my new fav spot on the Terrace.
