Half of my family is Chiu chow so I do feel a close kinship to this place. I love that they still have those very old school Chiu chow snacks. Their taro mooncakes were absolutely amazing. They were hand made and hand rolled properly with pork lard (only way to go) to produce the thin multi layered flaky pastry shells.

先講咗我嘅潮州蠔仔粥,爸爸話唔需要蠔大,最重要嘅係每一粒嘅肚都係10分飽滿,咁就夠鮮,潮式豪仔祝向來都係比較稀,唔同廣州粥嗰種棉密感覺。飯粒會一粒粒,配上芫茜,香菜同肉碎。簡單美味。

還了介紹不是圓形的腰果鹹粿,這就是我最喜歡的紅粿迷你版,炒過嘅米飯分外香,很感動!

年輕人大膽點,想吃就去問,不要再話比我聽你想食但係屋企冇人煮,又話只有外賣,不如問一下如何堂食感受呢一種即點即煎的傳統潮州味道。我知道呢一度嘅老闆同埋員工們都好樂意儘量滿足客人要求,(午市除外) , 因為大家都想把這種傳統美食承傳下去。

身為潮州人的我其實不想吃街外的粿,不過,由於我家嬤嬤九十有多了。已經沒有氣力再自己親手做,所以都會在這裏買!原來這裏的粿是可以坐下來麻煩廚師煎完食用,今次我沒有吃是我的損失!我特別喜歡這張相裏邊中間粉紅色的那個,我嬤叫他紅粿,包的是糯米炒米臘腸花生芹菜等。知我嫲嫲其中一個撚手粿點。

看到一篇食評說他們沒有服務,這天我遇到的是十分之有禮又讚我靚女的姨姨。
的確他們沒有良好的樓面系統,落單傳菜包外賣等執枱可能一腳踢,但有的是這種十年如一日的堅持,還有這種潮式老風彩,已經有感受的理由。

留意文中的潮州怒漢絕非貶意,只是用上常人理解的字眼。

吃到這裏我忽然想起一段歌詞"若你喜歡怪人,其實我很美" 🎈

自從去左附近返工, 皇后街街市就變左隊長同同事既至愛, 因為檔檔都唔貴同有水準, 今次去試左曾記呢檔潮州野.曾記最出名係潮州粿, 種類應該係香港之冠, 有咸有甜, 不過建議即買即食, 因為之前試過買黎當下午茶, 攤凍左有少少變硬. 除左粿品, 午市仲有少少潮州野食, 最多人係第二檔會叫個苦瓜烙過檯食, 今次我地就坐低係曾記, 叫左個炒麵線, 炒粿條, 蠔仔粥食, 同事驚碟頭細想叫多個苦瓜烙, 阿姐都好好人話我地3個人叫3樣野都夠食, 苦瓜烙留番下之食啦! 先黎個蠔仔粥, 都幾足料, 蠔仔粒粒都肥大, 而且粒粒都無沙/碎殼, 處理得好好;  跟住再黎個炒麵線, 睇個樣炒得乾身, 但個樣好淡色, 以為唔夠味, 食落又唔係喎, 而且勁多料, 有肉絲, 有蝦仁, 而且麵身彈牙, 真係潮州麵線獨有果重口感最後黎果個炒粿條, 即係好似新加坡果隻炒蘿蔔糕甘, 不過就換左炒無餡既潮州粿, 不過同炒麵線相比, 炒粿條炒得濕左D, 同埋都係掛住新加坡果種黑豉油炒野個陣味道. 同事最後心思思想試埋個綠豆爽, 我叫佢試個白果清心丸綠豆爽食, 因為而家都少有潮州舖有呢個傳統潮州甜品食, 因為綠豆去衣, 白果去殼

埋單每人都係$40, 仲要搵得番細個去傳統潮州舖食到既味道, 性價比高!

身為潮州人,當然要支持潮州食肆,每年中秋都會買潮州月餅,今年幸運地可訂到上環皇后街街市的曾記月餅,所以分幾次入貨送俾朋友食。而每逢中秋佳節前夕,曾記只售賣潮州月餅,其他潮州菜及粿要暫時讓路,曾記月餅全人手製作,跟傳統的月餅不同是潮州月餅是酥皮的,非常鬆化香口。不過今年烏豆沙很快沽清,只有綠豆蓉及芋蓉,芋頭蓉比較香滑但較甜、而綠豆蓉無咁滑亦無咁甜,但我兩款都喜歡。未計之前,9月14日那天仍要要求加單訂多了十盒($170一盒),多謝曾記之安排,現在香港會做傳統潮州月餅的店子剩下不多,要一直保持下去呀,我一定會支持。

My favourite was the most expensive item.

It was crispy loofah and shrimp pancake.

The pancake was crispy but gooey in the middle yet it was not heavy.

There were a few pieces of shrimp but lots of pork which gave the pancake a nice flavour and the loofah pieces made the pancake sweet and juicy.

又要講返野食,三個果之中,白蘿蔔最好,蘿蔔少甜。因為係叮既關係,表皮其實好乾硬,糯米果都叮到好乾,而韮菜果,可能我本身期望過大了,韮菜好油,味道亦不算新鮮。

午飯時間途經皇后街,雖然已經吃過午餐,但難得經過皇后街熟食市場,心思思想買個茶粿回公司做下午茶。愛吃的本性自動把我的腳推上了1樓,看見了一個個的粿品,很有沖動立即吃一個。我指了一個"芋泥粿"帶走,怎知道回到公司才發現原來我指了"芋頭粿"😑甜點變了咸點,不過沒關係啦,試試吧。將粿放入微波爐叮10秒加熱,糯米造的皮細滑煙韌,厚薄適中,又不會黏牙,雖然不及煎了的香口,但也不會有油油的感覺,而且餡料十足,混入了大量芋頭,咸香中帶有少少甜味,口感十分不錯。雖然吃不到甜的芋粿,但吃了個好吃的咸芋粿,也很滿足。

提到南北行,大部分人也想到海味舖頭,其實早年在上環南北行有一條巷,集中了一些潮州人在那兒開熟食檔,有賣鹵水鵝、即炒粉麵如沙爹牛肉炒河、有賣粿的、有賣豬雜湯的、亦有賣糖水糯米糍的。後來因城市規劃,各散東西,還好有兩檔遷往上環皇后街熟食中心,我們才可再嚐到這些美食。 先來個煎蠔餅、炒粿條及煎糯米粿。蠔餅即煎即食,有蛋香不油膩,個人認為比名店還要好吃。炒粿條坊間甚少供應,幾乎只此一家。炒粿在坊間極少供應,真正潮州炒粿,將米漿放入約一吋深的盤蒸出來,冷卻後切成一段段的長條,再下平底鑊煎香,加入甜醬油,再打隻蛋及放韭菜進去,香味四溢。煎糯米粿亦是一絕,雖然在九龍城也有潮州筍粿,但個人認為還是這兒的對胃口,皮煎得香脆,餡料豐富,真是美味。 如果時間可以容許坐低慢慢食,不可錯過隔離陳春記這豬雜湯,豬腰、豬肺、豬粉腸,加上西洋菜,用白糊椒調味,一口氣喝三碗也不奇怪。處理豬雜程序繁複,每件也乾乾淨淨但又不失獨特味道,可見店主細心。最後來碗三色,即銀杏清心丸綠豆糖水,完美。 臨走前一定到店前選購各款粿,鹹的有蘿蔔、韮菜、芋頭、糯米等,而甜的有綠豆蓉、豆沙及芋泥,還有我最喜歡茨殼粿。店員可為你煎香,你亦可選

很多人都喜歡把潮式的蠔餅與台灣的蚵仔煎作比較。驟眼看來兩者真的很似, 都是蠔仔, 都是煎餅。但出來的成品卻是一點都不一樣。總是不愛蚵仔煎那種滑滑粘粘的口感, 獨愛脆口的潮式蠔烙。曾記的蠔餅極香脆,卻沒有油抑之味。蠔仔多, 香香鮮鮮的, 怎會不好吃? 桌子之上放有魚露, 喜歡幾多就自己加。雖然看上去是很大的一碟, 但每次都是供不應求啦。

去新加坡會找炒粿條食, 其實也就是這個粿糕。以粘米粉製, 口感滑而彈。切成條狀再用豬油、老抽、蛋炒起, 甜甜地, 又有老抽的甘香, 好食。不過今次炒得燶了一點點, 但還是可以輕易清碟的。

吃完咸的就一定要一碗甜的。很可惜今天沒有芋泥, 老闆娘也一臉不好意思的樣子。那, 沒辦法, 就來一碗三寶吧。這個清心丸色澤透明, 口感彈牙煙韌。材料是沒有味道的木薯粉, 所以味道都是來至綠豆糖水。清甜的味道, 加上福果獨有的香氣, 也是很多潮州人的摯愛。

After having lunch in ABC kitchen, my friend recommend me to try this traditional CHIU CHOW dessert. Though it doesn't look nice but the taro flavour is running out from it. A very thick paste which the spoon hardly out. It tastes like pressing a big taro into this little cup, so intense! A bit too sweet but still acceptable.

依到既棵有甜有咸,有蒸有煎。我自己就比較喜歡煎,因為咁樣比較香口。 同朋友一齊叫左咸韮菜、蘿蔔,最後加多個兩個甜豆蓉和芋蓉,依到既棵真係全部都餡料豐富。首先講講個韮菜同蘿蔔都夠哂鮮甜而且煎完都仲有多汁加埋脆脆地既皮,果然好食!之後就叫左依個鮮蝦水瓜烙,本身唔知咩黎既,原來係一個似蠔餅既野,不過有蝦,賣相其實唔算太多,有少少油,不過唔可以只睇賣相一試,食落口同個樣完全唔同,唔係好似睇落咁油,加埋瓜既關係, 食落都幾清下,D蝦亦好大隻, 似新鮮蝦,唔係無味個種雪蝦,幾正最後緊係要食埋佢個甜粿,佢都幾靚嫁,用糯米造既皮有少少似茶果, 不過係煎既,夠哂脆囗又有咬口,不過可能凍左無咁好食所以下次要趁熱食,餡料都好足,甜得黎岩岩好,芋蓉都幾好,幾正。
