1. There was a long queue outside the restaurant on a Sunday evening, I guess people are just like my friend and I who wanted to try out this new restaurant with their signature local clay pot rice. 2. My friend ordered a Hainan Chicken Clay Pot Rice, and I was a bit more adventurous so I ordered this Eel Clay Pot Rice in Matcha Flavour with Sakura Shrimp. We shared the two pots and were actually quite happy (and full!) with the quality of food.
3. The matcha flavoured clay pot rice might sound strange at first, but it’s actually surprisingly nice. The slightly burnt rice at the bottom, together with a hint of matcha is definitely a hit! Not to mention the delicious eel on top, as well as the tiny bits of sakura shrimps that go with the dish.
4. The Hainan chicken clay pot rice is also good, but comparatively less exciting that this matcha one. The boneless chicken was so tender and smooth, and the yellow rice was even more tasty than ordinary “ginger oil rice” because of the clay pot.
5. I adore the interior design of the restaurant, as it reinvented a 70s Hong Kong style dining vibes with a bit of modern touch.
