The waiters are just great but even they are struggling with the seemingly new style.first class rib eye ordered medium turns up semi raw and after sending back gets redelivered with a straight face as a chopped up stir fry. 因為朋友生日,沒有頭緒吃什麼,上openrice 找找有什麼吃吧!就決定吃這間歷史悠久的餐廳,能夠屹立到現在一定有它的原因。餐廳位置位於尖沙咀,都算方便。如果晚上來應該更加有浪漫氣氛店內有懷舊而高級的裝修整體食物質素尚可,三色面包很特別。原本打算食甜品,但食到差不多尾聲,已經飽飽地,好遺憾沒有吃到甜品。

德州特色醬燒美國原件豬肋骨配沙律

畢竟帶美國風,菜色都偏向大碟,最適合一班朋友分享。

雖然賣相有點黝黑,但食落卻是另一回事,尤其是原條拎上手撕,陣陣焦香撲鼻,塗面的醬汁有點像BBQ醬,帶種粗豪的感覺,油香豐腴,最想配一杯啤酒。

而Side Dishes是即炸薯條及沙律菜,前者要即刻食,以免變稔,而後者令味蕾上厚重的味覺都中和了。

牛腹肉烤的恰到好處,medium

rare的質感充滿了肉汁,牛味是出奇地濃郁,但感受不到黑啤味,個人覺得只要塊肉質地好,簡單的下點岩鹽或海鹽來提鮮,足以令人吃過不停。

Side Dishes是原隻焗薯仔,客人可要求加上炸過的煙肉碎、酸忌廉或蕃茄汁,令味道更可口。

在好款甜品中,最愛是火焰雪山,其實賣相跟平常見慣的分別不大,只是用上白蘭地酒來代替Rum 酒,所以在點火時,酒味會更加澎湃,在蛋白霜內裡是香草及草莓雪糕,入口甜香味美,的確對愛甜的朋友是個大誘惑。

老實說,食物的份量真是夠一班人share,加上地點就腳,MTR過來還不用十分鐘,相當方便,就算是Fine Dining,都沒有侷促的氛圍,未嘗不是朋友飯聚的好地方。

天呀! 是洋葱湯呀! 一向我是偏愛黑松露雜菌湯的, 但喝過這碗湯, 發覺自己已漸漸愛上洋葱湯的濃郁, 尤其面層有芝士和麵包, 湯內有洋葱絲, 若果兩款湯要我選擇, 真的難下決定啊!

當晚吃了兩款甜品, 均是讓人非常滿足, 先來香脆甜桃餡餅,

嘩!! 火焰雪山! 無人不曉吧! 但要吃到有水準的卻並非輕易遇到. 以白蘭地代替橙酒, 令花焰更持久, 雖然味道有少了橙酒的香甜, 但多了一份隱約的甘澀, 另有一番味道.

Dining Area亦都好靚, 深木色做主調, 高級西餐廳典雅格局, 俾人感覺 “巧膠紙”啊~ (有啲類似Ruth’s Chris @ TST 或者 Langham Hotel既Bostonian, 不過再暗啲~ ) 我地被安排坐喺四人卡位, 夠晒私隱又坐得舒服 (值得一讚係卡位既梳化, 唔係果啲淋滋滋一坐落去成個人就即刻低半個頭果隻, Good!)

Server 一開始推介生蠔拼盤配白酒, 聽落幾扺, 不過友人唔食生蠔, 唯有下次自己黎再試~ 而餐牌都有好多野食簡, 冷熱前菜啊, 湯啊, 沙律啊, 咖哩啊, 焗飯意粉啊, 扒啊, 總之琳琳種種, 絕對係港式西餐廳既感覺~ (詳細menu請參考餐廳網址)

友人話呢度出名食扒, 所以特登叫一客. 由於大家都唔大食, 所以叫多一個前菜, 一個湯, 一個甜品 for sharing, 就夠食了~

問侍者有咩前菜好推介, 佢諗都冇諗就指左呢個.

原隻牛油果刮肉, 切粒, 撈埋蟹肉同荷蘭汁 (忌簾, 蛋黃, 檸檬汁) 再拎去焗. 焗既火候控制得剛剛好, 冇過熟但足夠令牛油果外面有半溶狀態而個芯keep住微暖同Texture, 唔會一pat 野. 折好既新鮮蟹肉散落喺牛油果周圍, 佢既蟹鮮加埋牛油果估唔到可以咁match! 加埋啲醬汁令成件事好creamy~

在下極力推薦大家黎試下呢個前菜, 食完之後記住個味道, 然後番屋企自己整! (因為睇落唔多難整).

爭扎左一陣, 究竟應該叫Rib Eye 定 Tenderloin呢? 肉眼肉味濃, 油脂多, 食落夠香口, 不過, 在下呢排要瘦身, 加上今日唔想食得太heavy, 所以簡左後者. 在下以前食扒通常會叫medium rare, 但最近口味轉左, 唔鍾意啲太生既野, 所以叫最後左Medium (五成熟).

在下曾經講過, Tenderloin 最緊要係夠Tender (嫰), 好多時一落刀果下便知龍與鳳. 呢度果然冇令我地失望, 落刀幾乎唔駛吹灰之力, 切開之後係勢色對版既Pink Center, 然後大量既血紅肉汁徐徐流出, 呢啲就係質素既保證, 一望都知好食.

放埋落口就知冇睇錯, 咬都唔係好駛點咬,雖然冇左果份澎湃油脂, 但好處係食完之後唔會搞到個口油淋淋, 而最最最緊要係塊扒既皮微脆帶點炭燶, create唔同口感得黎又順手豐富左塊扒! 在下敢講, 味道拍得上城中出名扒房如Morton’s.

一塊扒免費跟一個薯仔同蔬菜dish.

薯蓉既薯味好香, 調味亦剛剛好, 仲特登整到留番少少好細粒既薯仔肉, 叫做有啲野咬下. 呢度既薯蓉唔係行現代法國菜既路線 - 滑不溜口而輕身, 所以比起上黎會比較有substance.

磨菇應該有稍微週味過, 除左本身好香既菇味, 仲有其他香料, 又係唔錯~

注意: 塊扒都幾夠份量, 12 oz, 望落去好似唔係太大, 不過切忌眼闊肚窄, 一塊扒兩個人share其實剛剛好, 倘若每人一塊, 在下幾肯定食到一半你已經濟晒, 然後要逼自己食埋剩低既一半, 然後仲有伴菜, 食到咁辛苦, 何苦呢?

巨型雲尼拿雪糕球沾上炸粉, 炸到個面脆一脆, 黎到枱前再將啲點著左火既燈酒倒落去,視覺效果唔錯~

睇得又食唔食得呢?? 作為signature, 點都有啲料既~ “熊熊”烈火燒走酒精, 留低既係激情同熱情, 搞gag者, 燒完之後留低左啲燈香, 少少燶, 同埋苦味. 但苦味又會俾雲尼拿雪糕balance番. 以為塊皮淋左酒燒完之後就會淋晒變到一Pat野, 竟然又冇wor, 唔敢講超脆, 但總算有野咬, 佢索埋啲燈酒, 暖暖地, 撈埋個雪糕, 有驚喜!

如果要彈既, 就係成個Dessert都幾heavy, portion又唔算細, 2個人要食晒佢其實都會有少少吃力~

<FOOD COMMENTS>

食物簡單直接, 冇咩花巧野, 扒就係扒, 湯就係湯, 唔會見到啲用汁做既泡包, 亦都唔會見到雕龍雕鳳既擺碟, 所有野都好Down to Earth. 當然, 你唔可以expect食緊既係米芝蓮級數菜式, 但好味就係真既. 由湯一路食到甜品, 在下都滿意, 以Casual Dining價位黎講, 暫時佢排第一!

<SERVICE>

唔知係餐廳黑暗, 定真係啲侍者面黑, 離遠望佢地真係冇咩笑容, 不過, 當你一叫佢地, 佢地又即刻好熱心咁幫手. 似乎除左餐廳本身, 呢度既員工都好有歷史, 大部份都係上左年紀既叔叔, 不過佢地絕對唔會見你後生細仔叫野食又唔多而俾臉色睇, 親切既Service 是也~

唔好睇少啲老野, 後面果枱係鬼佬, 佢地傾計既時候, 用晒流利英文, 有講有笑, 紛紛鍾佢地啲英文仲好過在下同友人呢啲所謂 “大學生”

<ENVIRONMENT>

環境舒適樓上已經講左, 值得一提既係餐廳既客人竟然係以外國人為主, 一來成個氣紛唔同晒, 冇計, 崇洋係咁, 二來洋人都黎食既西餐, 心理上會覺得: 間野應該有質素保證~

我地果日去係禮拜四, 雖然係平日, 但餐廳都full左7, 8成, 不過好彩一啲都唔嘈, 可能因為成個場比較寛敞, 加上枱同枱之間都有番咁上下距離.

<WORHTINESS>

食物樣樣都好, 服務又唔錯, 最緊要環境靚, 坐得舒服, 2個人埋單8百幾. To be honest, 呢度的確好過唔少酒店西餐廳, 倘若要簡間靚餐廳鋸塊靚扒慶祝一下, 筆直一千蚊內, 與其去果啲喺二三線酒店裏面扮一線既西餐廳, 俾佢地劏到一頸血, 倒不如實際少少, 放棄執著 “酒店” 呢個形容記, 黎呢度, 在下拍心口保證, 閣下得到既會更多!

The moment we stepped in, we were escorted by a senior waiter or caption to the table. Chairs are pulled for us, and dinning cloths lain gently on our laps. 

Last time we came on a week day so lunch sets were available. This time it's a Sunday so we could choose either the Sunday/Holiday Roast Set or A la carte. We chose the latter and the following shows the nice food we have ordered.

First, we were to freely choose the many freshly-baked bread from the restaurant. The baguette was nice, and so was the bread with herb. The most creative, though, was the three-coloured bread (made with three different ingredients like tomatoes so that's why it comes in three colours) which was also fresh and delicious.

After the bread, the salad arrived. It was "chopped salad" which we ordered. Ingredients included eggs, tomatoes, baby spinach, beetroot, ham and lots of cheese. The greens are so fresh that the whole salad is nice to savour 👍🏻

My main course is Curry Lamb Madras which comes in either the 'dry' or 'sauced' versions. The waiter advised the sauced one for a first-time trial. It was quite a surprise that before the curry dish arrived, we were presented with a platter of condiments - raisins, peanuts, fried garlic, shredded coconut and two other sauces plus a crispy naan.

店員捧著麵包籃讓我們選,4款之中選了兩款。有我喜歡的focaccia,鬆軟的麵包帶點餘溫,香草味十足。被另一款的色彩吸引,蕃茄菠菜麵包。甜麵包的口感,較實和濕,主要是提子乾的甜,輕微的蕃茄香,菠菜則只能從顏色判斷。

羅馬生菜新鮮爽脆,沒有多餘的醬汁,味道清新。烤得又脆又香的榛子碎,跟濃味的Gorgonzola很夾。還有片片蘋果和梨添上甜味。切得超薄,卻很平均,欣賞刀工的同時卻想,厚一點的口感較強。一切都很滿意,直至咬了一口多士。底部烘得偏燶,而且明顯放久了,不脆,還有點韌。

不好薯片的我,卻十分愛吃nacho,配牛油果醬和蕃茄沙沙,融掉的芝士,還有大量酸忌廉,簡直是最正的comfort food。讀書年代,其中一讓最愛的,就是Dan Ryan's的巨型Nacho,是我考試的動力。

這個前菜做得相對輕盈。用上較薄的粟米片,焗得香脆,調味亦相當滋味。沒有誇張的配料,份量卻剛好。蕃茄沙沙和豆蓉,配上芫茜,很清新。貪心地想,要是guacamole可以再多一點就好。

是日的魚是盲鰽魚Barramundi。這澳洲菜常見的魚類,是健康又環保的選擇。除了蛋白質、維他命和礦物質,它也含豐富的omega-3,甚至可以媲美三文魚。

皮煎得又脆又可口。脂肪含量較低的盲鰽魚,魚肉並非以肥美見稱。吃下去較實,一絲絲的,帶淡淡的、清甜的魚香。淡味的魚,配檸檬汁,調出清新的鮮味,又不會蓋過原來的魚香。牛油稍為減低檸檬的酸度,另增添一份額外的油香。

配菜也可見其用心。蘿蔔腍而清甜,薯仔偏硬,口感更爽,滿有薯香。

減肥中的友人,每天吃得節制,只有星期六可以放肆一天。極度愛牛的她,用了這星期的quota,點了這份牛扒。看她邊吃邊讚口不絕,無論薯仔、牛扒汁,還是牛扒,都吃得津津有味。牛扒切開,只有那數毫米煎熟,中間呈誘人的深粉紅,看得我也忍不住試了一口。濃郁的肉香,又軟又嫩的肉質,溢出滿口的肉汁,確實好吃。總算值得。

Traditional Bread & Butter Pudding 傳統牛油麵包布甸
不理她的反對,加甜品。牛油味不算重,而且吉士稀稀的,又不太甜,感覺不太肥膩,自覺健康。很喜歡吉士的濃稠度,浸滿布甸,又入口清甜,絕不會濟。除了清楚可見的點點雲尼拿籽,還有清香的雲尼拿味。麵包布甸的口感一流,又彈又軟。要是能添點肉桂,味道上再多一個層次,就更佳。

吃這餐前,對Jimmy's Kitchen一無所知。以為只是普通的西餐,從它的環境、氣氛,到食物,都頗滿意。顧客不多,服務細心,反應很快。雖大都是有相當年紀的店員,但跟太平館不同,態度有禮。

感覺像回到殖民時期,吃了一頓高級的午餐。

Other Info. : 店員先為早到的我斟水。友人到來時,店員替我們落單,沒為她斟水,結果她開了桌上的瓶裝水,結果要為礦泉水付費。要不是真的想要礦泉水,還是著店員加水。
