New restaurant alert! If you are a pasta lover, you have got to give this new pasta bar at Happy Valley a try! It’s the sister restaurant of @locandahk. I personally am a huge fan of Locanda so I had to give Aedes a try once I found out about it!

We tried three starters and they are all bomb! The Focaccia was so yummy that I wanted to order a second portion! Even better when dipped in the mushroom soup! The mushroom and potato soup was thick yet flavorful. Zucchini Croquettes with Garlic Mayonnaise was yummy and very generous in portion size.

Finally, the hero, all the pasta dishes! I wanted to try all of them if I had the stomach! All pasta were al dente and perfectly seasoned. Pappardelle Bolognese was rich but goes well with the thick pasta. Love the texture of their Cavatelli Melanzana, so chewy! Linguine alle Vongole Was so yummy too! Can’t describe how good they were but we polished off each and every plate!

For desert, the Full milk and Madagascar Vanilla gelato were nice, just hoped that it is less melted.

Only found out that all the dishes were actually cooked in Locando’s restaurant and each pasta dish is like HK$150@ only! Highest CP value and so yummy!

Strongly recommend!

The place has also be redecorated with nice red leather seats. The bar is still to one side but at least now it's more open and less dark. The place isn't very big. They use the kitchen next door so what you're getting here is a Michelin recommended meal without the exorbitant prices.

As pasta is their only main, we shared two. The first was the Pappardelle Bolognese ($168). The meat sauce was rich and hearty. It clung to the pasta well. I love they used this nice wide pasta as it's the perfect vehicle for this type of sauce. The pasta itself was al dente, smooth and slippery.

The other pasta was the Scialatielli with Italian Sausage and Pecorino Cheese ($158). I had never tried this style of pasta and it was very interesting. It had the texture of udon. The sauce used for it salty from the cheese with a bit of kick from the black pepper and crumbled sausage meat. It enveloped each strand well. There was no sauce left behind.

We finished with dessert of a simple Madagascar Vanilla Gelato ($48). But simple as it was plated, it was extremely creamy with a huge punch of vanilla. Making it feel a worthy decadent dessert.
