To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. There are two types of food coupons depending on your pass, the ones I got were VIP coupons which entitles you to full portions of food according to the information and the normal ones are worth $10 per coupon.

It was confusing at first because I have not attended this before and some booths were mind boggled by these coupons, some treated these VIP coupons for half portions, and some treated them as being worth $10 so I did not the coupons on these booths.

It was good seeing La Parole at Wine and Dine because I have yet to try their restaurant.

Not keen on beef but just felt like trying it.
The mash with the beef was really nice, it was dense and silky with a strong potato taste and the beef sauce was rich.

The foie gras was nicely done, it was gently cooked leaving it soft and silky on the inside with a firm texture while the tart caramelized apples complimented it nicely balancing the heavyiness of the foie gras.

當這Spanish ham, melon, eggplant and black olive flower pot style送到我們面前時,老實說,我也有點動容了,因為這道菜的presentation原來是朵花!把spanish ham卷成玫瑰花瓣的模樣,再以較硬的哈蜜瓜片卷著和固定,底部以茄子蓉承托,實在美呆了!

其實之前也在這裡吃過一次spanish ham,因為好吃,所以今天才再叫,但實在沒想過今天賣相會那麼精美漂亮。女孩子生日收花,想必一定高興,總廚的這一個改進,實在太窩心了!

萬般不願地把玫瑰花解體,一片哈密瓜包著一片火腿來吃,火腿的油脂和甘香,還有那獨特的果香,在口腔中完全表露無遺,或許,幸福就是這麼簡單吧?

La Parole的湯我一向很喜歡,今天特地叫了一個4 course set,為的就是這個Cold cucumber soup with mint and lobster。青綠色的凍湯,全因主要材料是薄荷和青瓜,帶著兩者的清香,以凍湯形式更是把那芳香發揮得淋漓盡致。龍蝦肉則提供了肉香,使這個湯味道不會太寡,絕對是驚喜之作。

喝過好湯,接下來當然是主菜了。Iberico pork chop and tomato stewed with vegetables from provence,豬扒用的不是普通的貨色,而是以黑毛豬種來做成豬扒,肉香真的與別不同,在雪藏豬扒橫行的年代,這件「豬有豬味」的豬扒,更來得難能可貴。

友人因為沒吃過sweetbread,所以特要點了Rolls of veal and sweetbread with grenaille potatos and truffle gravy sauce來一試sweetbread的味道。La Parole的sweetbread沒有預期的重口味,咬下去的感覺告訴我這是內臟,但舌頭卻沒有傳來預期中的濃郁內臟羶味,如果你想試試甚麼是sweetbread,這裡絕對是入門的好選擇。

小牛肉則無甚特別,相比之下,豬扒絕對勝上一籌。

最後當然是甜品時間,Mille feuilles of red wine strawberry的千層酥做得頗鬆脆,吉士也夠滑,帶點酒香的士多啤梨也很討好,是水準是作。

可能由於訂檯時有提過這是一頓生日飯吧,Cuteness of "mignardises"來到的時候已經插上蠟燭,寫上Happy Birthday字句,看到壽星女驚喜的一刻,頓時覺得今天一切安排也是值得的。

Cuteness of "mignardises"就好像迷你的甜品併盤一樣,共五款不同甜點,滿足視覺,也滿足貪心的你。五款迷你甜點,相信總有一款合你心水吧

The amuse bouche was a very petite canapé of tuna and tomato tart with mint leave. Quite a refreshing start.

La Parole's bread basket was aromatic! I immediately started digging in by taking a raisin bread. The raisin bread was soft with crunchy rim and had a chocolaty taste with it.

Lobster Salad with Peach
The salad is a mix of chopped lobster and peach with slices of peach at the top. My lobster's portion was good and there was a balanced taste between the fresh juicy lobster and the sweet peaches. The salad was however not as refreshing as I thought it would be. I regretted not getting the Foie Gras with Cherry.

The dish came in devilishly aromatic with only one slice of winter truffle shaving! There was also some truffle paste at the bottom, but the aroma was mainly from the truffle shaving. The consommé looked oily but wasn't feelingly heavy on the palate. The truffle tasted consommé was an intense flavourable bowl. Delicious!

Grilled Truffle Beef with Tomato and Heart of Carrot
The presentation was colourful and cute with some hearts of carrot. The presentation feels very homey, as I have made this carved carrots at home before lol. The ribeye was in great texture, very succulent and bouncy. Great dish! If it was not my friend's main, I would down it right away.

Milk Lamb with Saffron Sauce and Crushed Potatoes
My milk lamb was marvellous too! The lamb was perfectly grilled to give a crispy charred outer and a juicy, fat melting and tender pink inner. The saffron sauce was a good pair with the lamb but I would want some mint sauce for my lamb as well. The crushed potatoes was quite finely done, so it's more like potato mash, but it was not buttery enough.

Surprise Chocolate Ball
The beautifully plated chocolate ball was presented with a whisky flame pour on top. The chocolate shell was made with milk chocolate, covered within was some smooth cream with blueberry jams and a crispy pastry layer at the bottom. Each spoonful was pretty sweet but was balanced by the strong whisky. This was a good dessert to end the night.

I like my friend's dessert more as it is more refreshing. The beaten egg white was in a marshmallow texture. The vanilla custard was mildly sweet and creamy. The biscuit was buttery and nice!

Macarons was served at last as a little gift from La Parole. The macarons are new products from La Parole which are available for sale in the restaurant. The macaron was quite chewy but the shell was empty and detach from the filling. La Parole's macaron definitely has rooms for improvements.

Party starts right away when I arrived, waitress serving around with some welcome snacks and different wines to go with them.  The one with scallop is amazing, scallop was slightly cooked.  Only the welcome snacks wow me already.
 
Then the dinner begins, starter is “Mache” Salad with Smoked Salmon and Goat Cheese Cream, pairing with Scamandre White.  Cheese always goes well with White Wine.  I loved this beautiful dish, the salad balance out the rich taste of the goat cheese and smoked salmon.
 
Main course is Premium Spanish Ham Tube with Baby Salad and Savoy Croustille and the Challans Duck Breast in Red Wine Sauce with Vegetables and truffle mashed potatoes, both pairing with the Scamandre Red.  The famous French dish Challans Duck Breast is perfectly cooked, crispy and juicy.  The red wine sauce is being well seasoning.
 
I am already very tipsy, this fresh dessert Raspberry Vanilla Tart with Strawberry Sorbet wakes me up a little lol.
 
I will join again their wine dinner for defo!

Overall dish is good except that the scallop is again overcooked. Even the paired Pinot Grigio doesn't help much.

主菜有兩款,喜愛牛肉的我當然選擇了這款「牛肉方塊伴松露薯蓉」,擺盤實在可愛得很,大家會否覺得那牛扒有點像心形呢?牛扒的生熟程度約六成,肉味濃郁肉汁又豐富,內裡更呈嫩紅色,實在非常之吸引。旁邊的方塊薯蓉更是非常可口,以兩片硬芝士夾著軟滑的薯蓉,一口咬下,芝士與薯蓉混合,還透出濃厚的松露味,令人一試難忘,整體而言,雖然簡單,但非常美味。

今天特別約埋同事到上環幫襯這間由社企開嘅法國餐廳, 之前都已經睇過食評話呢道D菜色好食, 同埋知道餐廳背後嘅故事, 就更加想去幫襯. 由於知道呢間餐廳經常爆滿, 我地已經好醒目晨早訂定位. 去到餐廳坐低不夠10秒已經有人來招呼, 細看MENU 最後我點咗以下3款菜色 :松露炒滑蛋第一眼看見這個三角形狀的烤麵包,就令我想返當年旅行去過法國嘅巴黎鐵塔;而松露與滑蛋的混合,松露味突出之餘,也保留了滑蛋的鮮味,各有各自的特性。法式鹹香豬肉配煎三文魚三文魚肉質幼嫩, 而魚的分量也足以令人飽肚, 估不到配上鹹香豬肉一起吃, 味道特別感覺十分清新. 这家餐厅是一家慈善性质的餐厅,所有盈余全部捐献给一个儿童慈善基金. 环境其实香港不错的, 虽然是楼上餐厅,但是相当宽敞,而且其实地理位置也还行,从中环地铁站走15分钟,上环走5分钟即达. 不过参加餐厅周只有固定的一个套餐选择而且价钱也只是便宜20元而已.生意倒是异常火爆,全满. 餐前面包是新鲜出炉热气腾腾的核桃包, 异常好吃( 最后证明是整顿饭最出色的一部分) 前菜是帕尔玛火腿蔬菜色拉: 火腿不错, 虽然不是特别高级的货色,不过还蛮新鲜的,倒是蔬菜色拉略显粗糙,而且完全没有调味主菜是煎鸡: 等了大概20分钟才上,吃了一口我和朋友便异口同声地抱怨,这鸡实在煎的过头了,干得已经没有味道了, 勉强吃了几口实在觉得无法忍受, 我们便向领班提出意见, 一名男服务员还是态度很好,先是连声道歉继而提出帮我们重新作一份. 我们也就接受又等了20分钟终于拿到了重新出炉的鸡,这次煎的嫩了很多,也能吃出肉质, 不过朋友的那份似乎过于生了些. 但是鸡本身是冰鲜鸡,所以味道真的很一般. 甜品是三重奏: 提拉米苏很失败, 白巧克力莫斯不错很滑而且很香浓的巧克力味,还有一个饼干一般.茶还不错. 服务参半.我们到的时

茶还不错.
服务参半.我们到的时候登了好久才有人招呼,而且可能生意太好服务不太到位.另外我们亲眼见到有个服务员上菜时不小心把盆栽碰到了甜品 (我们就坐在她上菜的放花盆的桌子的旁边),,结果他发现后还是直接把食物端给其他顾客,大大扣了印象分.

综上所述,我做回头客的可能就很低了.

入口味道香濃,又不致黑朱古的苦澀

Orgainisaios promoting ethical consumption has been mushrooming in Hong Kong and access to 'ethical' products has become easier thanks to the establishment of various social enterprises.

La Parole is one such example. It is the first restaurant in Hong Kong merging the concept of high class French cuisine and Social Enterprise. La Parole is opened by Confiserie Benji Limited which is a Social Enterprise recognized by the Hong Kong SAR Government. The revenue generated from restaurant after deducting the necessary expenses, are contributed to Benji’s Centre, which provides professional speech therapy to children and teenagers with communication problems, especially those from low-income families. I have been longing to visit La Parole after becoming a loyal customer of its sister company, Leonidas the chocolatier. The opportunity came when the restaurant offered a Christmas menu for the holiday season. And so I invited a bunch of friends to try out the special lunch menu on Christmas Day.

Loster Soup, according to the friend who ordered it, was quite rich and nice.
My Pan fried Foie Gras with Apple was of course a lovely indulgence; the surface was browned crisply to precision and the melt-in-your-mouth foie gras was simply impossible to resist. Don't forget to eat it with the sweet stewed apples and a dab of flavored salt (the black specks).

Every girl would look forward to dessert time. The restaurant was now pretty busy and even Executive Chef Mr. Eric Taluy was on the floor to help out. And finally Christmas Symphony came and it brought a smile to everyone's face. On the left wad a cake resembling the opera cake, it was moist and chocolaty. The very cute snowman was actually (Chantilly) cream sitting on pastry and it had a raspberry as its hat. The little glass contained chocolate mousse which was again a pleasure.

Consistent with the restaurant group's prominent 'chocolate' theme, we each got a bar of Chocolate from Leonidas as a Christmas present. How sweet.

Holiday menus are sometimes hard to please ironically, for one prices are usually grossly marked up and the food quality may not be up to the restaurant's usual state. Although the food want superb in every dish here, the pricing was very reasonable and you know you're doing good as you eat.

聖誕節正正是一個普天同慶的日子, 當然, 聖誕節亦是一個可以大吃特吃, 放縱自己的日子吧! 是晚正要出席一個多達50人的聚會, 地點擇於上環的La Parole, 包了餐廳其中一邊的場地, 有足夠50人的活動空間。雖然餐牌是預設的三道菜晚餐, 但作為一個為食的人, 還是預先做了一點準備功夫, 了解一下餐廳的資料。La Parole是一間西餐廳, 難得的是La Parole是一間社企餐廳, 餐廳收入扣除本成後將會捐贈於幫助有語言障礙的小朋友, 值得支持。於晚上的6時到達, 場地早已佈置妥當, 相信原本餐廳設計的氣氛是浪漫的, 特別喜歡那高高掛在天花的水晶燈, 另一邊沒有包場的燈光是偏暗, 是很有情調的, 但當天因包場的關係,所感受的氣氛是洋溢無限歡樂感和熱鬧的。聖誕節的套餐是$500三道菜, 可選前菜, 主菜和甜品各一, 另有咖啡或茶, 特別還有Leonidas的朱古力禮物包, 早在到場的時候, 小巧的禮物包已放在座位上了, 系上了一個小蝴蝶結的包裝顯得分外的精緻, 檯上亦放上鮮紅色的鮮花作點綴。因想多試一點款式的關係, 跟友人各點了不受的前菜和主菜, 互相分享。::餐前飲品::餐前的飲

::餐前飲品::

餐前的飲品是一杯橙紅色的飲料, 雖然不確實飲品的成分, 但不太喝出有酒精成分, 滿是果汁的味道, 貌相亦是吸引的, 杯邊以粉紅色的小碎粒圍邊, 插了一顆紅莓, 但稍嫌有一絲絲似是藥水的味道, 的確, 這類飲品假如調配的時候分量控制不精確的話, 容易適得其反。而且剛喝的時候, 飲品是不冰的, 只屬室溫, 有點扣分, 但約5分鐘後便漸漸冰了,相信是因人數太多的關係, 飲品亦是預先調配的, 在酒吧的一邊看見店員在一個膠瓶中倒出飲品, 雖然不太討好, 但還是可體諒的。

底層的麵包切得相當薄身, 謹比薯片厚身一點, 烤得完全脆身, 上面放上水果沙律作伴, 分量是一口的, 正好避免吃得尷尬的場面, 味道有點酸酸的, 不失為一款簡單好吃的開胃前菜

Symphony of the Sea: 很美亦很恰當的菜色名字,材料都是從海洋而來的,海鮮包括帶子,龍蝦湯,再配上原隻生蠔。帶子經煎香,近邊的位置刻意煎得焦香,算是很新鮮爽口的, 龍蝦湯的味道相當濃香,味道不造假,聞起來也是香氣四溢的。誠然,生蠔的賣相是很肥美的,但入口有蠔殼, 而且新鮮的程度對比Ambrosia的出品確是有一段差距。

Symphony of the Earth: 材料包括了蘑菇湯,鵝肝,煙肉卷,是一道材料都是在地上找到的前菜。蘑菇湯的味道不錯,湯中有一點點蘑菇的碎粒,但湯中好像有蠻多空氣的,少了一點期待中的香滑感。據聞鵝肝是這裏的名物,是我所期待的,鵝肝很厚身,煎得甘香,光是賣相已令人食指大動,的確入口很豐腴大滿足,小口小口的慢慢完成這件美妙的鵝肝。

法式麵包: 麵包共有兩款, 包括法式麵包和法式合桃麥包, 是做得熱烘烘的, 麵包外圍是硬脆的, 內面是鬆軟的麵包, 而且濕潤度十足, 能做到外脆內軟的效果, 是處理得出色的, 法式合桃麥包是稍有一點甜味而滿有麥香的, 合桃的口感也很充實, 不配湯已經很好吃了, 很值得一試。

主菜是牛扒,羊架,龍蝦配三文魚三選一。本來選的是龍蝦配三文魚,但後來因聞這裏的牛扒不錯,於是便改成牛扒,友人選的是羊架。

The Premium American Beef: 牛扒是橢圓形的, 算是厚身大塊的, 外表看似是火候十足的, 但回想起來, 店員在寫單的時候沒有寫到要幾成熟呢…心想應該會是大路的,五六成熟吧, 怎料切開只有約三成熟, 肉還是血紅色的, 外表的那一層是較鞋口的, 應是烹調的時候開了太大的火的關係吧, 結果外表過熟, 但內面不熟, 但有吃到肉質是出色的, 但還是有請店方再煮熟一點。搭的的是米飯, 米飯煮成是軟飯狀的,入口是濕潤軟腍的。

Glazed Lamb Rack: 光是那羊架上的五條骨頭, 已是氣勢十分, 外表亦煎得甘香, 切下去的時候, 偶有肉汁滲出, 但跟吃牛扒遇上同一難題—羊扒過生了, 亦有三成熟, 還是同一處理方法, 請店員再煮一下好了, 煮段羊肉約五成熟, 羊肉沒有太大的羶味, 肉質是很嫩口的。

Winter Delight: 賣相也算是用心, 但這一道甜是稍為失色的, 做法像是千層酥餅, 一層的朱古力慕絲, 一屠的酥餅,重覆了兩層。酥餅是有薄而有多層酥化的, 朱古力慕絲的甜度較高, 可不是每人也可以駕馭吧,表面的應是香橙類水果, 相當鮮甜

總括而言, 這一次的晚餐是稍有失望的, 相信以餐廳和食物本應可做得更好的, 但可能因餐廳對於處理包場經驗不足, 以至於處理食物還未如一貫應有的水準, 特別是於處理主菜方面, 但前菜, 特別是鵝肝, 也是很值得一試的。

六道菜之三:香煎鵝肝,之前睇OPENRICE食評都知呢道菜超讚,一食果然係不得了,很香口。但除鵝肝很好食之外,我和女朋友也很欣賞佢個賣相,像花開富貴般,而那綠色的醬配上鵝肝食也很好味,一問之下原來是牛油果,很特別。

六道菜之四:鴨胸,平時食鴨胸可能都只係一片片,佢地呢道係厚切的上,所以要自己切開,味道OK既。比較特色係佢有啲好似冬蟲夏草型的配菜,食落味道其實係似薯仔,聽講係法國一啲出名既配菜。

最後仲有Coffee or Tear 飲埋先走,女朋友大滿足。兩個六道菜Set加埋一大約$13XX元。每人六百零蚊可以食到美食之餘也可以做到善事,我會推介我的朋友黎試試。
Other Info. : 餐廳環境相對比較黑,要影到靚相的話就要用閃光燈,但一閃會唔會影響到別人就自己行量。 另外若果是慶生的話,可以係訂枱時講明,除了可以係甜品上寫上Happy Birthday外,Server更會點起煙花蠟燭,雖然大約只有5秒煙火,但有非常特別,生日者一定喜歡。
