The four of us dined here on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at 6:20 and was only about 70% full by the time we left at 8:00 PM. We thought that a Michelin rated restaurant would be more busy. We soon found out why.
We ordered four items from the menu and were charged what seemed a fair price as indicated in the menu. The a la carte item suggested by the head waiter was an fairly ordinary home cooked soup for four came to a whopping $268 by itself. If it was Shark Fins Soup, which I would not order, the price would have been good, but it was chicken feet! Go figure! It seems their a la carte suggestions are fair game for them to overcharge. I know I should have checked the price first, but it was a soup for four, and it reminded me of home cooking. How much could they charge? Turned out: a lot more than reasonable. What potentially can be a pleasant dining experience turned into a nasty one. I shall never recommend my friends here.
The food for a Michelin rated restaurant was only ordinary. Their signature dish, Duck with Taro was uninspiring. It arrived cold and bland. I could have gone to a dozen restaurants elsewhere and got a better dish. The stuffed Tofu was crispy, but lacked flavour. The stuffing was minimum and did not enhanced the Tofu. The country veggies, which was Guy Lan with garlic was the only dish that was above average.
Overall, the poor dining experience and not recommended.
题外话/补充资料:
I was grossly overcharged for the soup. On top of a ten percent service charge, I was charged $68 for tea and peanuts.
